In the Paris Olympic Games Women’s Rugby 7s: How did Fijiana 7s finish dead last in Paris, after winning bronze in Tokyo 2021?
 
Countries such as Japan, Brazil, South Africa and China all came on the international rugby 7s scene after Fiji and just zoomed past Fijiana like they weren’t even there.
 
Also at the Olympic Games today - Simone Biles now has eight Olympic medals, including five gold, to become the most decorated US Olympic gymnast in history.

In Paris Olympic Games Basketball Men group phase: Germany 86-73 Brazil, France 94-90 Japan, Serbia 107-66 Puerto Rico and USA 94–76 South Sudan well into the final quarter.
 
In Rugby League: Three members of New Zealand’s Paris Olympic gold medal-winning Rugby 7s Black Ferns squad are switching to rugby league.
 
Tyla King is re-joining St George Illawarra Dragons, Stacey Waaka, who scored the winning try for the Black Ferns in their 17-12 defeat of Canada, signing with the Broncos, while Tenika Willison will play for the Knights.
 
In SportsBiz: The WNBA is expecting to extract more than US$260Million per year from its broadcasting fees - four times more than its previous deal.
 
CBS and Scripps Sports are the likely source as both currently have media deals with the WNBA which expire next year.
 
In Football: Paris Olympic Games Women’s Football group stage games completed overnight:

Japan 3-1 Nigeria and Spain 2-1 Brazil. 

Two more games still playing in the second half – Germany 4-1 Zambia and USA 2-1 Australia.
 
In Boxing: American boxers Jahmal Harvey and Omari Jones scored big wins yesterday, advancing to the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympic Games.
 
Harvey, 21, scored a narrow 3-2 split decision over Brazil’s Luiz Oliveira in their Men’s 57Kg bout, while Omari Jones also 21, of Orlando, Florida scored a conclusive 5-0 win over Kan Chia Wei of Chinese Taipei in the 71Kg division.
