because it's so darn cold out there.
That's why many people are turning to Bombas,

Not only coming home to probably an excited fan base and coming home to be honored for
a gold medal and everything. How are you looking at tomorrow?
Yeah, really excited. That was cool coming back to the states and seeing the reception we got.
You know, like right when we landed in Florida.
And then obviously having our first gaming on jersey with Jack was really cool.
And the reception he got, you know, obviously I think Buffalo's blue collar town.
And, you know, I hope it the metal mentor a lot to them.
And, you know, I'm very excited to be back in front of them playing.
So I'm very, I'm looking forward to tomorrow for sure.
What did you think when you walked in practicing?
You saw all those towels on the seats in the T&T town?
Yeah, I wasn't expecting that. That was really cool.
I'm excited to see those towels being waved tomorrow.
I think I heard it's already sold out.
So, um, place will be rocking.
You know, boys are playing get hockey right now too.
So, I think everyone's excited for tomorrow.
You've experienced some of those games in the past.
But I mean, how excited the team are you just to experience, you know, that atmosphere?
Maybe night and night out for the rest of the season.
I mean, it's been a while hours.
It's been that, you know, consistent crowds like that.
Yeah, I mean, over my time here, we've had, you know,
spurts where we've had fans or crowds like that.
Where the atmosphere has just been outrageous.
And it's something you dream about playing in front of every night.
And I think we've gotten to the point now where hopefully they will be there,
you know, every night like that.
Obviously, we've got to continue to keep winning.
You know, but I think that's something that gives us a lot of energy.
Helps our team-lating games.
I think it's just easy to get up for games like that.
When you come out onto the ice and there's 20,000 people just screaming.
So, you know, it's a difference maker for sure.
What's it going to be like having Jack and Noah in there to see all this going on?
Yeah, I mean, it'll be cool.
Obviously, Ix is familiar with, you know, Buffalo and, you know,
it's great playing with those two over there and accomplishing what we did.
Obviously, now, you know, you look forward to the task at hand here.
And obviously, that's been going to play off-plotion.
Just continue to win games and get points and try to climb higher in the standings.
And, you know, obviously, they're a really good team.
So, two really good players, too.
So, no friends out there tomorrow.
Who was certainly trying to build your career up here when Jack was here?
What was it like now in the Olympics?
Jack's feeding you the puck for goals at the Olympics.
And it's a different level of relation for the two of you.
What was it like to be with him on that team?
Yeah, it was really cool.
You know, Ix is one of the guys when I was first here that I looked up to.
And obviously, unbelievable player.
And someone I always try to emulate, you know, parts of my game after him,
just being a big, you know, strong power forward.
You know, he's got a ton of skill.
He skates really well.
I just try to watch him on and off the ice and things that he would do.
And try to emulate him a little bit and learn from him.
So, it was cool going to the Olympics and kind of going full circle playing with him there.
You know, obviously, I think when I was playing here, my game wasn't where it is now.
So, it was kind of cool playing with him and, you know, just picking each other's brains on different
things and on the power play.
But yeah, I was definitely unique being back with him and, you know, sharing the same ice.
You had said that it was really cool when Hughes invited you out on the ice to be with him.
Are you going to do that with Jack and Noah to invite them out with you?
Yeah, of course.
I think I'm not sure entirely what they have set up.
I know they're planning something for tomorrow and, you know,
Jack and Noah will be part of that.
Because like Hughes said, it's about the team.
It's not about one individual.
You know, you don't get to accomplish what we did by just, you know, one person.
It takes everybody, not just the players, the staff included.
And, you know, obviously Brett Ski was over there with us and, you know,
he'll be a part of that out there.
But yeah, it's important, I think, to include everyone that was involved in that,
in that team.
Because that is why we won.
What do you hope the reaction is?
You obviously understand the relationship between Jack and the stand-based.
What do you hope is their reaction to him joining you in that celebration?
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, I would hope that there would be, you know, a positive reaction.
I think we did something great for this country.
You know, I know he gave everything he had to this organization when he was here.
Obviously it didn't end any, I think, the way anyone wanted it to.
But with that being said, he put everything he had into this city.
And he put everything he had into that USA team.
And he wore the crest proudly.
So I would hope that it would be, you know, a really good reaction for, you know, him and Noah both.
Did you guys were really nice?
I mean, so well for basically three months.
What, what did Saturday night?
What kind of statement did Saturday night and Tampa night?
Yeah, I mean, I mean, we've been playing really good hockey.
And I think, you know, Saturday, I mean, we've been just taking one game at a time.
But I think Saturday made a statement about us as a group, obviously, you know,
from where we were at the start of the year to now, I think there is, as we started to get hot,
talks about maybe making playoffs.
And now I think we've proven that not only can we make playoffs, but we can, we can be a real team.
You know, and I want to get too far ahead of ourselves here and just want to take a data time.
But everyone in that locker room believes that we're a dangerous team.
And I think kind of that's just where we're at right now is we have that self belief that we can
do something special this year. And we just got to make sure we're not looking too far down the road
and just kind of stay with the process and stay with what's been making us successful.
You had a crazy $48 before the New Jersey game, but then you played three hockey games in four days.
Did you ever get fatigued in any of those three hockey games?
Yes.
Yeah, that was a grind for sure.
You know, as fun as winning the gold was and the aftermath, I was really excited to get back with
the guys here and continue to finish what we had going. I want to get back on the ice with the
guys and compete and help us win games. And obviously was probably not at full health those three
games, but you know, you do what you got to do. And obviously our team has been playing great hockey.
So, you know, like I said before, it's not just one person, but whatever I could do to help the team,
get two points was the ideal goal there. So we got the job done on that road trip,
which was a huge trip for us. And now we got to get the job done tomorrow.
You were probably going on a Dremel and against New Jersey. Was the Tampa game where you were going to win the most?
Yeah, I mean, I felt, I actually probably felt the worst in Jersey. Tampa, I didn't feel as bad.
I think, you know, I started to find my legs again and the wind, but yeah, the first, you know,
Jersey and Florida was, was for sure a grind. What is the approach this week? You know, you're talking
about the level of hockey you guys are playing, but you also have the deadline coming up.
This is a very different position that this team has been in and deadlines passed.
How do you balance the not wanting to screw up the chemistry of the group you have,
but also knowing that any additions might signify belief that like this team is capable of.
Yeah, I mean, I think regardless of if we make a move or not, I think the team has belief,
you know, we could go get someone or we can make no moves and I don't think it would change the,
the belief in the room. Obviously, the decisions that are going to get made at the deadline are,
you know, out of our control. That's what those guys get paid to do and we get paid to go out on the
ice and perform, but, you know, I love the, the chemistry we have in the room and the belief we
have in the room and with that being said, I don't know if there's much that would affect that moving forward.
When you look at the last three months, what identity have you guys developed when you look at the
whole picture, again, December, maybe even going back to mid-November, which is what, what have you
developed here in the team? Yeah, I think we know what we are. We're a skilled, high-fast, high-paced
team, relentless on pox. I think when you're watching a game and you see us at our best,
we're just in team space. They have no time or space to make plays and when we get the puck,
we're going north fast and the deer joined in the rush. I think that's our biggest asset is,
you know, our D-Core. The fact we have so many offensive mobile D that can join the rush and add
threats, you know, that fourth wave coming in is really tough for teams to handle and obviously
the fact they skate so well they can make their gaps tight for other teams trying to leave the
zone and it's suffocating to play against. So I think when we're doing that, we frustrate teams.
I think that's kind of, you know, what you saw in Tampa there. Are you still feeling that injury?
You missed the third period of the semi-final game, are you still feeling that attack on?
No, that's good. Yeah, I feel good. I think that was all precautionary, you know, given what the
score was and where we were in the tournament. I would have liked to finish out the game,
but I think they were more just precautionary to take him out there. So it was minor to say the least.
Josh Norris has been with the team now almost exactly a year. I mean, he's, you know,
he's missed some time but he's been very productive. Just what have you learned about him over this
past year, I guess? Yeah, I would say for me in particular, having been injured myself and,
you know, missing a whole season and obviously Josh has gone through that.
It's not easy physically or mentally and the fact that he's been injured as often as he has and
the mental strength that he's had to come back and stay positive throughout the whole time and
make an impact every time he comes back. I think says a lot about his character. Obviously,
he's loved in the room and he's a huge asset for us on the ice when he's playing.
He's dangerous, his speed, his skill. He's been a difference maker for us all year long.
So having him right now is huge moving forward for this push. But yeah, he's loved in the room,
but I think the thing for me that impresses me the most is just his character and his mental strength.
Okay, so that's the goal that Jack used to score in his face. We life changing for all of one goal.
What was the scene like in that room and that intermission, excuse me, that intermission before
over time? You're looking around the room. Somebody had a chance to be a hero, but what was that room
like for those 15 months? Yeah, I was, I was, you know, I've had a lot of people kind of ask me
that same question. To be honest with you, going in in the locker room after the second period was
the most nervous I've ever been in my entire life. And I think, obviously, Halibuk stands
on his head the entire third period when that Canadian team just surged. And then I think when we
went into the intermission going into over time, it was such a complete opposite feeling of nervousness.
It was like just looking around the room like everyone in that room knew we were winning the game.
I don't really know how to explain it. It was kind of just a feeling around the room like
we got out of that period and now we're going to win this thing. So I went from being the most
nervous I've ever been to the most calm I've ever been. So I was pretty, pretty unique feeling for
sure. If I could ask just one question off the beat. When your captain goes down in the last game
and Noah Ossling is the guy who shows off immediately to defend his captain, what does that do for
age 21 years old? What does that do for him in the room when you guys as teammates to see him do that?
Yeah, that was awesome. I think I loved it. I know everyone else in the room loved it too.
That's just the definition of a team toughness. That's just showing that you care about the guy next to
you and that you want to win and you're willing to do whatever it takes to win and that you're
going to sacrifice yourself. Obviously, Oste is not a fighter tough guy by any means, but the fact
that he sees his captain go down. He's the first one in there and he doesn't really care who it is.
It just shows that we're we're in this together and we're real and I think like I said,
the chemistry and the love for one another in the room is real and I think you see it on the ice
and that's an example of it. Have you or a family member been diagnosed with
