§  And a two-bedroom apartment in Warsaw for gold medalists in an individual competition and a one-bedroom for each gold medalist in any team competition
 
Hungary offers the most to its medalists overall, with more than US$148,000 for a gold medal.

In Rugby League: The Parramatta Eels recorded a shock 30-20 win over the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland last night, rebounding to a week from hell with arguably their best game of the season.

In Boxing: Angela Carini who was emotional after her loss to controversial Algerian boxer, Imane Khelif, telling reporters she had “never been hit so hard” in her life, now says in an interview with an Italian newspaper she said the controversy that followed made her “sad”.
 
“I’m sorry for my opponent. If the IOC said she can fight, I respect that decision,” Carini said.
“It wasn’t something I intended to do,” Carini added, referencing the fact she did not shake hands with Khelif.

“Actually, I want to apologise to her and everyone else. I was angry because my Olympics had gone up in smoke.”

Carini said if she met Khelif again, she would “embrace her”.
