Yeah, I thought we got off to a pretty good start. We've been doing that a lot lately. Just a
matter of sticking with it for the full 60. We got to wait for a little bit, but
yeah, we knew they were going to be coming hard. They lost last night. They're still they're still
fighting. Yeah, one that we wish we could get back, but we'll move on.
You've had a pretty good chemistry right off the bat with Malinstein, now Pearson steps in,
and again, it looked like the three, you had a good chemistry. How are you able to accomplish that
when the three really haven't played together before? Yeah, I mean, Mal's been playing awesome,
you know, since I've been here. It's been fun to join his line and you know, get some chemistry
right away. And then yeah, Pearson did a great job coming into tonight. Obviously he's a veteran
guy. Been around for a long time and we know what we're going to get from him. He makes the right play.
You know, he's got some offensive instincts and good defensively as well. So yeah, I thought we,
you know, jelled pretty well together and built some chemistry. Same one that you got. It's
good away from over the final 40 minutes, do you think? You know, maybe we're getting a little too
cute out there trying to make the extra play rather than, you know, the simple play getting north.
I thought our forecheck was pretty effective all night. So, you know, there's maybe times where we
could have just got back to that. And, you know, once we did get the puck back in their zone,
we were dominating. So probably could have done a little more of that. When Malinstein found you,
did you give him a yellow over there? Because that looked like a blind back pass and was right on
your stick. Did you yell at you if open? I don't think so. No, I think that was just some instincts by
him. And, you know, I normally, you know, try to go the night as much as I can. And yeah,
pretty unbelievable pass. When you play teams like Washington, what do you have to do to kind of
keep your competitive level up? It seemed like it's kind of coming down a little bit. You're playing
down to Washington's level in the second period. I mean, they've been a good team for a while now.
They're heavy. They play hard. You know, they were one of the top teams in the league just a
couple of years ago. So, you know, they got a lot of experience. And yeah, we knew it was going to be
a good test. There's really no one in this league you want to take lately, no matter what,
no matter what the standings are. So, tonight was a, you know, it was a good lesson for us that
every game is going to be big. You know, teams are going to be gunning for us. And,
yeah, it's a good lesson. Turnovers too. I mean, one won up in the net and looking
and make some good saves too. It seemed like if the game went on, the turnovers increased.
Yeah, I mean, Lou did everything he could have, you know, to keep us in that one, especially
in the third, some huge saves. So, yeah, we, you know, I think we owed them a better result for
sure. But it's nice to have a goalie like that that, you know, really all three of our goalies
we can trust in there. And we're going to need that down the stretch.
