than get the loss in a 2-1 game.
Just, how did this one unfold?
It just seemed like as the game went on, you guys got a little sloppier
and you saw a little more action because there were more turnovers
and they started coming at you.
Yeah, I think they just played the long game today.
They wanted us to make the mistakes.
They kind of just sat back today and they're going to play it, of course, well.
So I think that was their game plan and we kind of, you know,
I want to say we lost control of it in the third,
but I think they kind of knew that it's their chance to, you know,
kind of get on top of the game there.
How much does it help you?
The whole team was fighting against Tampa Bay and he liked the fight he saw on you.
He said, he wanted to keep you in there because he wanted you to fight with your teammates
and he thought you did.
And you probably had to appreciate that even moving forward to this game.
Yeah, I understand.
It's kind of what it's all about right now.
We want to win.
We want to win as a team.
And I think that's kind of what stinks the most about today.
It's a win-able game, which we kind of let us slip for our fingers.
You know, that happens, but we can't be necessarily happy about it.
What was the freedom of two-on-one there?
Yeah, I think that was kind of tough.
Of course, you want to take the short side away and you know,
he made a good low blocker shot there.
But, you know, as a goalie, you want to make that save.
I'm not saying it's a bad goal, it's a tough, you know.
But, you know, especially when there's not many shots happening before.
But, yeah, it's just one of those situations where you want to make a big save to, you know, help your team.
It seemed like you did have even some of their outnumbered so that they got in the third period.
You had to make some big saves and did, you know, to help your team stay in.
And basically, you did what you, all you could do in those situations?
Yeah, I mean, as I said, their game plan was to avoid us to make the mistakes.
I'm happy about the third in a sense that there was a couple of saves I made.
And, you know, that we didn't fall back in the middle of the period there.
But, you know, as I said, it stinks. It's a win-able game.
And, you know, we kind of have to learn from it every other night now.
So, whether you win or lose, it seems like you just got to leave it behind and move on to the next one.
Yeah, I mean, that's how it's always been.
But, you know, when we're playing this well, you have to learn from these games.
There's not going to be one team anymore this season or next season who is going to take us lightly.
We earned that, but we have to be ready for it.
Teams will make adjustments and they will play.
I mean, Washington, I think played pretty defensively today.
They knew that's probably their best bet to win and in the back-to-back games like that.
So, you know, as I said, they're going to play well and their system kind of, they just outweighed us, I guess.
