It won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2014, and the movie is about an actor who starred as a Hollywood action superhero, the Birdman. It turned him into a celebrity. But he knows deep inside that the Birdman movies are not very good,
so he writes and funds a Broadway play on his own to show everyone that he can be a serious actor too. And the Birdman movie needed to have a serious actor in the starring role because of the way it was filmed, single camera, one long continuous take, and to get the effect right, the scenes had to be shot in order from start to finish. No cuts, no editing out mistakes, one long continuous take. So the cast had to be very good. They get only one chance to get it right during filming. And the actor who played Birdman was really good. And in real life, he is also known for playing a superhero, Batman. Michael Keaton is celebrating a birthday on this day, September 5th. He turns 75.
