Neiman who we did not get into his resigning as reported by Bill Huber of

Sports Illustrated he signs a or agrees to a one-year deal per bill really good

special teams guy played at Iowa was injured Taurus Peck during the season and

was on pace to be one of the leading tacklers and all the football on special

teams so a a signing for new special teams coordinator Cam Acord but the

headline this morning thus far is Rashon Gary's trade to the Dallas Cowboys for a

reported fourth round draft pick Towson I are on the same page good on you

Goody I can't believe it around pick I just I I'm I'm flabbergasted so good for

him I thought it was gonna be one of those I thought it might be Towson one of

those where they give you like a fifth round pick but you got to send Rashon

Gary and a seventh round pick back or something like that so good value well I

think maybe what this tells us is that maybe we all all here covering the

packers and watching him exclusively maybe there's more of a market for

Rashon Gary than we thought or Dallas is a bunch idiots it's one of those two

things I don't know which it is obviously they traded Micah Parsons which I

still it's amazing but Goody is basically flipped you know two first Kenny

Clark and Rashon Gary for a fourth and Micah Parsons and there's not a team

in the league that wouldn't make that trade that I know and and both of

those trades also got contracts that Goody didn't want anymore off of his

books it's turned out that way yes so Green Bay won that trade as we sit here

right now and I don't think that's gonna change now hopefully Micah comes back

and I there's no doubt I don't have a doubt Micah Parsons a dog and he's

rehabbing I would be shocked if he's not if it's not the opening week he'll

be playing in September I'd be it would be my guess as far as all this other

stuff yet Rashon Gary he is a good football player I want to reiterate that I

know nobody on Packers Twitter or on our show you know our YouTube and

everything else is gonna agree with that he is not the dominant guy we wanted

especially after Micah got hurt but this tells me that other teams in this league

again or maybe just Dallas we're looking at him and saying that he can play

football still and he is still gonna be somebody that you can count on to take

a limited amount of snaps but be somewhat you know he can be impactful still in

this league and so now we'll find out if he you know has taken this criticism

because I'm sure he's heard it he's on social he does all the cheese on

everything he has taken a beating and we'll see if he kind of refocuses and can

maybe finish or start next season off like he started this last season off but

he is going to be he's gonna be one of their focal points because they're

paying him they are giving him that contract that was the thing that surprised me

the most is that he didn't have to take a pay cut he didn't Dallas is a happy to

pay it and Green Bay is happy to take that fourth round pickback in return all

right so he he was a good player was he good enough probably not right I mean

the expectation good enough for what Green Bay was paying him and what they

expected no you go the final 11 weeks without a sack without a tackle for

loss they need you to raise your game after losing Micah Parsons and he did

not do that I agree with you he is not a bum he is a good solid player but as we

debate with fans who still don't like the AJ Hawk pick in 2006 expectations come

with being a first-round pick and he was picked 12th overall in 2019 Micah

Parsons was picked 12th overall in 2021 it's pretty clear which one was a

better 12th overall pick so far in their careers my question for you is this

because you taught me this a very long time ago as a seventh-round pick if

Rashon Gary isn't a former first-round pick is he just getting released that is a

good question and I would think the answer is yeah yes right the talent is

there because when you look at it and this is not being biased J.J.

Antigparo is a better football player at the end of the year and don't

say well you don't know what you're talking about as Jeff Hathley ask Matt

LaFlor asked the people that are in the building because they played him

and they put him out there any made place so you know there's always this

perception and it is it's you know you have the badgers had their protee here

Friday you do get judged off of your initial numbers and your draft status

that is in play and the beautiful part about the NFL is that does go away to a

certain extent Rashon Gary he you know he goes through his business and he plays

and he does what he does and he gets that salary that's the part that is still

just dumb-founding to me is that he is going to make that full-on freight for

someone that I think all of us look at and say well boy he wasn't very

productive good on you maybe you see something or do something you don't I

would bet that when all is said and done Green Bay is going to look at this

and say this we got good production out of Rashon Gary for a while we overpaid

him and we were able to get a fourth and I'll pick back I think the the

Green Bay Packers this is this could be a pretty good day I believe for

Brian Guderkins to be able to pull what he got what he got out of Rashon Gary

we will see what else he pulls off as the negotiating window opens in 39

minutes Towsh I'm curious you know you mentioned some of the YouTube responses

it's been very lively in there I'm very curious how our fans feel kind of the

big picture as of right now in terms of what everything that they've done

means to them you feel like taking some calls sure I don't I'm actually that is

a good question because from my perspective I feel like we've done some really

good planning for the future but I don't know if we've gotten better for next

done some really smart long term if this is one of those cases where I think

the general manager in the front office have done a really good job and I

banking on a first round pick that's going to be this third year and I like

Jordan Morgan I think he's gonna be a good player so all right let's see it and

as far as the defensive line goes the only way you feel good is addition by

subtraction and if you feel good about that okay but I I don't know how you

could look at what we've seen so far you're seeing a lot of subtraction a lot

of with a lot more to come by the way yeah no I'm saying with when you start

looking at who's all gonna be signed and tampered with today you're letting a

lot of guys go and I feel really good about our receiving core but I don't

about the align I don't know if I feel better about the linebacker spot picking up

a 30 year old and letting Kueh Walker walk out the door I don't know does that

that we were a week ago but i think i think we're better financially and i think

we're better in that we have kind of a sense of of where we're going in the

future i i think the big objectives for me

kind of over the weekend with the last-second trades

and contract extensions was that we don't

we don't get into a bidding war with a guy like quay walker and pay him more than he

wore or retain roshan gary and and kind of run him back again and we kind of know

how mattlet floor is with sometimes with the loyalty

um i would say the the big thing for me is like i love the zyre

franklin trade and i wonder if he can give you like our Eric wolf

and i obviously he's a guy that minnesota found value with and they brought him

back last year and now they extended him again

and um you know franklin's a guy who was uh i believe he was a captain

in college and continued that with indianapolis

and um from everything i've read about the guys the hard-nosed football

player and a big leader in the locker room and i kind of think last year especially

when we kind of hit that five-game skid and when michael went down

and there was kind of a sense of when things started going downhill for us it was

gonna continue that way that the the lack of veterans the lack of guys in the

30-year-old age bracket might have been one of the reasons that

we kind of collapsed the way we did so i like that trade i don't mind the

loss we had there and i'm i'm eager to see what we have going for i think

financially we're in about as good of a place as we can be

wow uh you're not concerned about him being a downward trending player

it was one year and again i think every other i i like i love this story i

love the girl into this role i've um it just see i've again i'm obviously

your cherry picking highlights but just seeing the tackles for loss and the way he

attacks the ball um it it seemed like that's one thing we lost

is a year went on and obviously there's such a question mark out of how

he's gonna sit in this defense and like you said earlier in the show nobody

knows what Adam's gonna run but um i i think there's going to be value there

to replenish the defense of line as far as like what we gave up

either in the draft which sounds pretty good or even just um again maybe some

day three etc up three agent pick up said

Eagles or Lawrence from the Giants you know our it seems to me like we may be making that switch

to a three four defense and you know with getting Franklin and Cooper would probably play the middle

I mean what I know Kueh Walker turned down an offer already but do you think there's a chance

that maybe we're clear in this cap space we come back to him with a bigger offer and he plays one

of the outside linebacker spots in the three four I mean I I don't know what do you guys think on

that because like as far as Van Ness goes to me he's he's a prototypical three four end I mean be

in more of a tactical position when he plays the high war he's good for me inside yeah I mean what

do you guys think on that yeah I a good question yeah it's a great question I mean it would be great

Colby Wooden and you're bringing in linebackers I I don't think things are gonna change drastically

but I do wonder if you're going for you know a home run and the Eagles signed the other

Georgia defensive tackle that I always forget he's a monster of a man Jordan Davis Jordan Davis

to an extension they have they've drafted really well so they're gonna need to probably trade certain

guys it could be old boy and if it is I want him here Jalen Carter be a great addition I think the

bears would look at grabbing there'd be a ton of teams that would say yes please because he is a

disruptor now and you got to pay him too right that's exactly right and Philly decided not to at

least not yet that doesn't mean they won't but I would think that they're probably gonna trade him

maybe not after maybe not till after this season they could tag him and do that but you always

have to worry he dropped he should have been a top three pick he dropped because there were

concerns and I do wonder if Philly feels as if you know he's as he alleviated all those concerns

because great teams don't let great detacles walk out their building so there's obviously that's

a red flag as far as what what that would look like but it's a it's a flag that I think you take

a shot on especially over a one year period of time so I would bet that somebody is going to make

a big bold move whether that's going to be Green Bay nothing would surprise me because Goody

is shown when an elite talent is available he will pounce and make a move I don't know if Philly

would do the same and you know giving another you imagine you to pair him up with Micah and you

got Devante why it's still available there's a lot of moving parts that are going to get shaken out

I don't envision that happening in Green Bay I think it'll be somewhere else but yeah when you

start here in those rumors you start thinking oh boy would that be something that would be

intriguing he is not going to be cheap and to your points the fact that the Eagles have both him

and Jordan Davis and they chose to pay Jordan Davis is interesting and noteworthy and you always

tell us when good players are allowed to leave teams buildings great players great players you have

to ask why we'll see but that is intriguing I do not think way Walker will be back I don't I am

very curious and again I don't want to belly ache but it would be nice to talk to Jonathan
