But the fact of the matter is he did not elevate his game if that was something that

Get him back here and get rid of some of the dead cap that when you would release him next year

It would be worth it if you have to add any more dollars or do anything that will add on to

Dead cap hit when that happens you don't

So that would be how I would approach this but no if you

Think that he can give you

The production because let let's be honest. I know fans are really disappointed with how he finished

But depending on goody stats or the packer stats

There's those a lot of production that Rashon Gary gave last year he did he is he is the opinion of me

Sniff at 48 pressures or 60 pressures and seven and a half sex that is

There is value there and

So I know we can all sit here and delve on the last part of it and that's fair criticism no doubt

But it's not as easy as just saying oh go get 15 sex. Oh, how many guys do that?

So it those duplet and rightfully so if if fans are gonna look back on the AJ Hawks career and say

As the fifth overall pick he sucked it doesn't matter what you say because they are factoring in

His draft status and his contract and in Rashon Gary's case

Whether you like it or not and I know you and I are on the same page with this

That factors in you paid him to be frankly if he had played at the level of the contract you gave him

In October 2023 you don't have to trade for my comparisons

And you have up both of your first-round picks

This year and next year because he has elevated his game and he is a multi

Double digit sacked guy

But he's not he still is yet to have a double digit digit stack sack season

um

So all I just I just want to point out because yes

Money and how much you get paid factors in in a big way expectations matter

You're going to have higher expectations for certain people than others. That's just the reality of life

So if you don't want to live in reality, that's fine. You don't have to

I'm going to and the facts are Rashon Gary had a disappointing second half of the season

The Packers are not going to pay him what is due because of that

But I'm not going to sit here and just poo poo and say that he

Stunk and was it productive? Yeah, I agree with you he had production

But it's not at the value and by the way the NFL has a way

Of rectifying those things unlike a lot of businesses

The NFL will dictate what your market is off of the production and what they think you will be able to do in the future

Rashon Gary didn't help himself with the way finished the season

The Packers realize that other teams realize that and I think Rashon Gary will realize that

But to act as if he can't play a lick and he stinks and I mean it's always that's part of the problem with some of the NFL media

Is you're either a world beat or you stink. There's no boys good solid player

Good solid players that get paid a ton of money get a lot of criticism

That doesn't mean they're not a good solid player

Um, he's not he's not good is he good enough

If he's getting eight six million dollars, absolutely, he's good enough

There is something because when you're 22 23 you think a million bucks is the world

But you just think about the times you have to fight through to get better to push yourself to get to this spot

Now these NFL scouts and GMs have to worry about

How much of this is love and how much of this is work and how much is it going to be

They have to worry about rookies

The same way they now do when you give big boy contracts out to people

And that's why when you know who you have in your building

And if they are about the right things

It might make more sense to pay a little bit more

Because you know then the devil that maybe you don't wear your mercenary in people and when things get a little bit

They're not there. I don't know if that makes sense, but it makes a ton of sense to me. It makes a ton of sense really good

People that want to play for a long time find out what you're good at

And position yourself to getting that spot as many times as you can in a game

If you're in offensive lineman and you're good at punching and you're good at you know or if you're a good anchor guy

Whatever you're whatever your strengths are

Force that opponent to do that more than he wants and as many times as you can possibly get in that position

You do that. You're gonna have a nice successful long career

It's their job to make you uncomfortable. It's your job to make yourself comfortable
