Welcome to Referrals Done Right, I am Scott Cratez and this is your home for one simple idea,
0:05
turn your relationships into revenue. If you believe trust beats transactions and relationships
0:10
drive results, you are in the right place. Each episode along with our website and weekly newsletter
0:16
is packed with real strategies to help you grow by leading with your heart and executing with
0:22
intention. You are now part of our D.R. Nation. Let's go. I want to spend five minutes talking
0:30
about what we've called quotes for a cause and you know a big piece of what we do and one of the
0:39
sections of the infinite referral advantage is community service groups, civic organizations,
0:47
nonprofits and so we said you know how can we create win-win wins where we can create awareness
0:53
for yes our business but also the organization or the cause and we can you know create a buzz
1:01
around what everyone's doing in a positive way. So every month we choose a cause and every time
1:10
someone gets a quote from one of our agencies we make a donation to that cause so we're coming off
1:18
of it the time of recording here March we did three one five which is our area code three one five
1:24
for a cure three one five K three one five K for a cure so talk a little bit about you know what
1:31
that process looked like start to finish. First I mean quotes for a cause is it's an amazing
1:37
campaign to start when when you when it was initially like presented to me it's like probably
1:42
it's amazing. My first thoughts were how do I get the word out as fast as possible and how do I
1:50
get as many quotes as I can before the month's over. The initiative three one five K for the cure
1:56
supports pediatric cancer locally so I really wanted to lean in on that more than more than
2:02
than you probably would otherwise from start to finish it's just been it's been great. I mean
2:09
the reception from people have been very supportive people have been very engaged in it and it's
2:16
been it's been something fun to share around the community and connect with people and that's been
2:21
a great icebreaker too. For sure bringing up quotes for a cause got the flyers people want to help
2:27
a great cause especially locally this pediatric cancer for this the recipient organization this
2:32
month so it's something that people can really. Like garnered the support and get behind.
2:37
Talk to me about the you know the first initial meeting with Colin you know and I guess how
2:44
you brought it up and what the conversation sounded like and what the initial action steps were.
2:49
Colin Colin LaRelle uses super super just a genuine person that initiative it kind of it was an
2:57
organic conversation we met at Utica Coffee we talked a little bit about quotes for a cause and
3:02
our goal behind it and what we really wanted to do and he was in full support of it you know he was
3:07
he was actually thankful that there was an organization business like willing to do something
3:12
like this to bring awareness to one three one five K for the cure but to support pediatric cancer
3:18
locally is that's a huge it's a huge initiative but yeah it was a great conversation we had a great
3:24
back and forth and he's another contact that I established through this that I could obviously
3:29
know pick his brain in the future and stay connected and yeah Colin wears many hats but you know
3:36
primarily he's a local attorney absolutely he's in the real estate space as well he's a cancer
3:42
survivor and then started three one five K for the cure of 501 C three nonprofit so great contact
3:50
great cause exactly you created you know established the relationship or further advanced it we're
3:56
raising money you know and so logistically if you can check all the boxes and what are the boxes
4:02
here right the relationship the cause and then community awareness the hardest thing for for
4:10
anyone trying to raise money in any organization is there's so many people that are trying to
4:17
raise money you know and it's hard it's a cluttered space and and so you know we're able to spotlight
4:23
them leverage our audience we're able to have them share our information with their audience so
4:30
cross pollination it's been a huge buzz on social media we post every couple days we've got flyers
4:37
that you're able to bring out and and that helps open doors and break the ice with other
4:42
relationships you know and ultimately we're we're going to cut a check at the end of the month and
4:48
and you know both puts that on social media and so if our customers win because we're able to help
4:56
them if Collins group wins because we're able to create awareness build their audience and get
5:02
them some money you know and you're able to to meet new people in the process like I don't know
5:09
if there's a better way to you know it's incredible and honestly it made it easier to just to even
5:16
connect with people in this role because obviously now there's something that they can kind of get
5:20
behind yeah you know aside from I mean obviously I'm sharing information about insurance but
5:25
this is bigger than that you know the the mission is bigger and the impact is bigger probably the
5:31
biggest win that I can think of from this and we've had a lot of people call the agency it's
5:35
that I talk to talk to Keith you know her from Keith you know no what you guys are doing with the
5:39
quotes for the cause we want to get on board and I'll I hope and I'm butchered the name photography
5:45
Luzore Luzore yeah I mean what a great moment you know called call the office said you know I met
5:52
with Keith talk to Keith wanna get a quote we're able to help him improve his coverage get better
5:59
pricing local service all things we do and then he was able to you know kind of brag on the
6:05
you and the the cause of three on five K for the cure and then he put this whole post on social
6:10
media didn't ask him to not solicited and then you know that drew eyes so that's the gratification
6:15
for you know moments like that you know because that's real testimony that I didn't you know I mean
6:21
yeah and he even opened it was on solicited you know this is this is me just wanting to share
6:26
so just a relationship that we had in the conversations we had compelled him to one and sure
6:32
with us even yeah but to build a relationship and connection that I think you know he'll be a
6:38
beneficial like contact of mine for sure yeah I mean I'm a great ambassador and part of our
6:44
family now so absolutely um can't stress enough if if you're looking for a way to make an impact
6:51
in your community and have natural organic conversations meaningful conversations and support
6:56
good causes uh quotes for a cause take it run with it in your neighborhood your community
7:01
steal from us kb always a pleasure my friend thanks for all the hard work you're doing out there uh
7:08
it matters it might not feel like it some days but every conversation we're always one conversation
7:14
away from something magical happening I agree and uh if 99 out of 100 don't turn in anything so be it
7:21
but we look for that one right and you're out there doing it I'm grateful to be in this uh role
7:27
and proximity to you and everything we got going on this is a impactful man and I'm happy to be here
