Oh Yo everybody what is up welcome to the people's car podcast my name is Ryan Bill and sitting right next to me is Devin Ricardo what's up, yeah, what's up dude and we have a couple friends here. We just ate spaghetti dinner with who we got Errol arrow. What's up man and Heather? Heather you guys have been on here a Number of times. I think you're as of right now, especially this episode the most Returning guest. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah, we just full on Garrett and I think fold and he's done too. He's down and out. Sorry dudes Um, so what's cool is we just So the reason why you guys are from Georgia while you're here in Pennsylvania

Which you should probably end up moving to eventually right yeah Because Errol is actually bitching to me the other day you fucking go outside and he's he has to time Exactly when he wants to do something and work on something because he's covered in sweat from his shoulders to his ass crap He says that but he can't handle the winters up here. Oh three showers a day three. Are you serious? Yeah, that's healthy What are your thoughts on that? I think if you're doing work in the garage you just sweat profusy like he does yeah I would definitely want to take a shower see that's the thing so aggravating about so I lived in Florida for a year and When I got out of the shower I always remember that I didn't know if it was still wetness from the shower or I was already Sweattings that's great so the worst part is When you sweat in a shirt and then you forget to wash it Oh, he told you're shirt out. It just smells mildewy forever after he's got throw the trash You just smash it burn it

Gerard Wack Not it smells too bad for that he wiped down the pair like a set of wheels and they just smell like your BBO BSL. Yeah, this is a special episode. Okay, let's talk about it. Well because it's an anniversary This is an anniversary five years. So we just that's let's work it all around So the reason why you guys are here is because you started coming up to low show Right you brought your mark to know the harlequin. Yeah, no, no, I'm saying today That like why you're here this weekend. Yeah, so you came up to low show and it was going to be like an extended week Because you guys doing low show you're visiting around here and then we're all hanging out down at roots So five years ago, right we were at the We're at the mall mall low Sure, that was the first time we met you and I remember like what kind of like seeing like What they do with the harlequin watching like the like the whole back store on the build from that car being a junkyard car and

It was like you know and the anniversary of the hall of King of all these hall of Queens together for the low show in the mall And I thought it was a really cool story behind it because You had other people that have done that before pulled a car to junkyard and build the car I just I like the back store on it I thought it was pretty sick that it's just a car that was like From Jim Ellis Vokes, but I didn't a lot of people don't realize that they had a bunch of hall of Queens down there and There they're probably more prevalent in that area more than any other dealership I would think that has prominence in like the VW world because they had them all like displayed out from with the picture and everything And then they were known for panel swap in those cars because they couldn't sell them So Jim Ellis has a lot of like backdoor in itself and having a car, you know come on the junkyard on that those cool I wonder if any of those cars they I think do you think they Jump the gun as far as moving the panels over and panel swapping everything because they just got them and they thought like There's no fucking way that people are gonna buy this shit or do you think it was like I

Yeah, I The best story that I have because I used to work at Jim Ellis The best story that I have is that one of the guys that worked there said that they weren't selling okay Jim Ellis didn't really care because Jim Ellis is and has always been one of the largest dealership networks with Volkswagen and it's not just Volkswagen like Jim Ellis is huge but The technician that I spoke to said that he had the idea because no one realized how Mathematical they were swapped at first. We're talking. This is 1995 96 and these cars are there No one they just thought it was random and he said he Everyone has their own story, but he's like I figured it out and I went to buy four of them and They caught on and then they decided to swap them themselves To be able to move the cars out of the show who was that

Would you say the tech yeah, like the tech that was that saying this oh God, it was a game. Yeah, good. Give it a big almost as like you really oh, yeah Sweet I tried going down to everyone I could get a hold of that worked at Jim Ellis 96 because it wasn't the Jim Ellis that I worked at they had two locations all right, and it was the Atlanta slash Shambley store That had that picture that everyone sees that one is the shambley store So who really knows where they were swapped, but they had a dedicated group of guys that wasn't 41 It looks like 41. No, it wasn't it wasn't the 40 dude. How can we get those guys on here? We got it like it in touch with some of those guys the problem the story the problem is the stories Become as more and more people to get away from it the people that are Looted acquire more and more credit for doing things. Yeah, and especially when you got guys that want all the glory Sure, you know, like I think this guy also told me that he helped design the beetle headlights and the 98 beetles when they came out and I'm like

You're just a technician Right, Jim Ellis. I don't I don't know what you're trying to get out of this But that's how that guy was but as far as I feel like Sal was there for the longest time He came up from Florida. He wasn't there for a long time. It was it was the lifers that you would like talk to about that and You know even the shop forming that was there that he basically got forced to take his retirement from the dealership Got you. They just didn't care But that's the other thing like they just didn't care Like those cars are gone like that's a salesman's worst nightmare to have to come in and sell this Cloud car I wonder if back then like if they were being if some of the guys are being short-sighted and other guys are like No, no, like you got to chill out a little bit like this is something different. We all we know that there's only 264 whatever it was that were like made and like calm down Maybe they didn't sell within the first two months because they're weird and I guess you didn't have the internet either Really at that time so like you couldn't really say oh we can allocate that from Ohio or something because There's these fucking weird crown cars that are sitting down in Atlanta or whatever they got 50 of them 50s a lot

So it was like 20 to 25. Yeah, and that's as far as the best that anyone can tell at least two sets were swapped back by Jim Oh really so that's eight of 50 which seems like kind of a low number when they were struggling a lot but There has been I think three of the Jester bases Yeah, not confirmed but three Jester bases with correct Venn numbers Have been found like solid Jester I think it's also confusing because people like oh, I have a harlequin because of the Venn but then the interior is not correct Things are not correct on the car and I'm not that is a huge huge Problem with people that own 96 Volkswagen Golfs because for whatever reason The lot of the titles were branded as harlequin's and they were weird. You know what's interesting about that in 02 The GTI's when a 337 came out the titles said 337 for non 337 GTI's probably a similar deal. Yes, because I had a friend had a matchstick red mark for

GTI was a 337 and a title said 337 it wasn't It was like a fully spec'd out leather Sunroof car and it's like set 337 and what is that something of the dealership when they're typing up the information is that Maybe that's what they use like maybe I don't know if it's like maybe EPA standards Okay, this is the base car that we use at past. So we're gonna use this for a title. I don't know. I think the the the harlequin's place and history with Volkswagen is It was like the kickoff to the best era The Volkswagen you know, they've always made solid cars up until the mark three came out and they basically the mark Three's went bland and then in 96 they were like these are successful in Europe Let's do this here and then it's like after that. They just had to one up themselves of weird stuff Like we're gonna come back out with the beetle and then we're gonna do an R32 Yeah, I know it's really wild

Like there's a couple of how about a different color concept or not called concept but try Even like going from like that to driver's edition and then moving on like yeah, then the beetle comes out And then you're talking three three seven then you're talking 20 it's yeah, I'm waiting for the The geolize with that actual like fucking full that was also to the So I think I'm pretty sure that I know this right that like Volkswagen was the first company To do the throwback model The beetle like like we discontinued this car now we're gonna bring this back as a new model as a throwback and the beetle I believe started that you mean like the retro like like bringing back the charger the Like these yeah, I mean All of them until just now when you said that like they were the first When I said 98 okay, well, I mean the you see in the auto shows like 96 Well, the cars were rebranded. I'm thinking back So like in the 70s you had at the Dodge Challenger. Well, you probably had a PT loser at 98 right

You specifically you drove a PT no Maybe yeah, maybe like I'm just thinking other things the first car to first two cars come to mind but they were they were a huge flop but uh After the 70s cars of the charger and challenger Dodge came out with a new Dodge Challenger that was a Mitsubishi base car And the dogs PT cruiser came out 2000. Okay, so the PT cruiser was its own model. Yeah, it's never been made before you're right I'm just thinking yeah, that was even weirder. Yeah, you know, but they said the tea bird too that came out like yeah like the But that was a continuation that wasn't a I think the car was the next biggest one now we talk like retro styling too. That's what I mean Those parts were discontinued though. Yeah, but like you're saying charger before that wasn't supposed to look like an old charger No, it was just a name plate. No, it was just it was a continuation like okay, this charger is like a second gen charger

That was like take here the new beetle does not look like a Volkswagen beetle. Yeah, I agree The new new ones do not the new new with the new new the ones look at ladybug. They mean looking lady Yeah, I mean bug. Yeah, I mean it's very round Like there's no other car that has had that silhouette. No, I mean the tea when the tea came out Like the beetle is still very high the TT so low like yes, it's rounded, but I still don't feel beetle So beetle ask I thought like when it came out now I thought it was beautiful. Yeah, the T first came out. I was like That is in yeah futuristic like crazy, but I do feel like it was beetleish You know what I mean? You had the round fenders you had the round top like it was It was almost like a beetle melted a little yeah, I can you know like a new beetle went too fast down the Go back to the Harley Quinn's there. I think there's a Chicago blue one right now Yeah, that that was pulled out of an Atlanta junkyard. Yeah, that's for sale

It was for sale on pretty trip. That's real. I'm sure one of the look me a card and big. I'm actually pulled that's the part number That's the blue color I didn't know the dude that painted our Harley Quinn said Chicago should call a purple Steven Chicago. No, it looks like part is almost like a purple. Yeah, more than it's a blue that came out of the Atlanta junkyard also I didn't know there was at least a Chicago blue one there that I pulled parts off of oh I tried to buy that one back then Okay, that was pulled apart South. Yeah, and I tried to buy it for more of the Was that a full Chicago blue car like a pair of swap car? Yeah, wow. That's kind of crazy. Yeah, I mean Three other guys where like you see that that should got the weird blue golf like what is that color? You know, that's a way to have the Joker to have the Joker interior and everything Yeah, and I because I think one of our friends was actually pulling the seats out of that car or something. The Lex pros. Yeah Wow It's funny essentially you needed to swap over everything like you needed for all four bases So like he wouldn't do that unless they had all four together, right? Yeah, I mean probably and we always showed about like hey give us back our panels

Let me see yeah other Yeah, our cars in the gas door it had handwritten and permanent marker like one out of four And I think I see another blue door that said two out of four. It was your color Was all a base color? Gensner those did so also What's your favorite base the best mark three colors that oh? I don't know if you'll look or yeah, but what's your favorite base? I guess I Hate it, but everybody loves oh I love this that I think to this day I wish someone would prove me wrong, but I don't think an all tornado swap car has been found Which would be hard. I mean you would just think it's a yeah just red car. Yeah, yeah Because they went pink to It's not a pink not to say a name from Turner pink But it's about Harlequin's yeah happy anniversary happy anniversary five years yeah it all comes around I mean, it's crazy to think that we're actually sitting here doing this podcast five years later And we're friends and we're friends and hang out and actually like enjoy to this company

From five years ago to say hey Yeah, you guys want to be there's it's like you guys are just like uh, okay. Yeah, sure I do feel like I have a lot to think that Harlequin for even though I honestly shocked he agreed to come on the podcast He's very in that day. Yeah, oh man. Yeah, absolutely Yeah, could I kind of approach you guys just like I don't know where this entire podcast is It was just like kind of like just like You guys want to do this? You know, it's okay. I was so nervous. I remember Yeah, sitting on the couch. Yeah, there was a lot of people running around and stuff that was kind of a Crazy story. Yeah, everyone getting COVID for the first time Kyle dying I really died and came back fourth-benters truck was in the window How is the beginning of this? Was down in real? I realized he was He just told us the other week he was really like Yes, dude, what's up Pat that was the start of panic downward spiral. I think it's that's the that's the The chicken the chicken the patty's

Was from Euro Summit. No, that was the week before was no, no, no, no, no That was like the next year. Yeah, like time machine shower. Yeah, so We didn't go to that we've never been to that. Yeah, we stayed at this place And we had a time job And it looked it looked insane. It has like crazy. It was this cylindrical weird thing. Oh, I've seen pictures Yeah, and it's just like I think he just stood in there and it washed on like a car wash or something I'm not exactly sure how it went down But he came out and then he like five chicken patties and died It was rough. It was so back in the cakes. Oh, yeah, yeah He was going crazy out weekend. Five chicken patties and cake. Yeah, like the little like little store bought um like a Debbie Yeah, like yeah, like a little Debbie with the Halloween ones or Christmas ones. I don't know. No one vannic. It probably was yeah. Oh, he loves Christmas Yeah, oh, he died. Oh, that dude that great. We had Christmas episode last year there. No, I remember Well, this is the Halloween episode. Yeah, yeah

Yeah, we got to get together and we got to figure out a Halloween episode this year. Yeah, I'd be cool But uh, okay, door of summit her. Why aren't you here? So why are we here? Well, we are going Tomorrow some of us half of us, right? You got to work And then I mean we're all going to be there. Oh, I know, but so like It's the next day or day and a half we will all now go down the wildwood and we're gonna meet for um For what dubbing grub. Yeah, so dubbing grub is uh Is kicking off that weekend and you know super excited about that dubbing grub is the place to be Um, it is down at the Cape Mezu. Yep. That is this Friday. What's the date this Friday? Uh, the 11 9 11 isn't it is it the 11th? Cuz today's the ninth. Yeah It's 9 11 Saturdays the 12th no Friday. Oh Friday. Yeah, yeah, good girl. That's Friday. They're the mark one meat That's Saturday. That's 12 12, which is also A really cool time. Oh for sure

I you know what I can't wait for this weekend because there's no strings attached There's no kind of no way to buy me a rules and nowhere to be not that there's no timeline of There's no timeline. That's the thing. There's no rushing For any time of any there's literally wait. Okay, just so you guys know Um all of our buddies in dubbing grub said It is when you get there and after we get there we can stay basically as long as we want it's new into whatever It's new into whenever that's the time I'm excited new in the clock the zoo has always been my favorite part about it It's a check out a golf check out a giraffe. Yeah, dude calls some drafts. That's where they should call it Yeah, it's dogs on it's one of my favorite things to do especially when they start parking the cars and the trees Yeah, yeah, but especially if you have kids yep 100% you all have kids sitting here, but it's They need that yeah, like kids like doing what you're doing, but like you think it bored quick

They get bored quick and like send them off and like hey, let's go look at some some monkeys and some One of those little things from Australia that they have over the wombat and eaters No, the what are the wombat looking things that they have a bunch of are you sure it's not a wombat itself? Karoo starts with a C they're like little beaver looking things. Oh, capy bar. Happy bar. I love those are those just the huge rats Yes, I want one as a pet grow. Yeah. Yeah, so I like this chill. I probably wreck you like in the middle of the night No, they're like and it's actually like they seem to make really good pets a good dog. Oh really? It's a large great. I'll tell Erica. That's what you got. What's called a cat a wampus It's trouble Wamba. Hey cat a wampus. I love those things. I can knock down. I hate that song But it isn't good zoo because it's it's great zoo you pay to park you donate to park technically Yeah, then it's free. Yeah, I mean, I'm not free. You donate. Yeah, we donate, but if you don't What do I mean? We know a lot of both people are don't not Nate donate. Yeah, you got to donate

You know both wagon guys are kind of hard up sometimes because yeah, because they're replaced oil pans and ball joints and wire harness source tires from Europe For no reason or China. Did someone go to Toyota and ask why we don't have any tires? No, I want to Toyota Please help us out. So we're at low show. We see the Toyota Toyota Toyota truck come in and we were like yo Can you sell tires? Yeah, it'd be great if you guys they only have the model signing them You're right. Can we see the manager here? We need like 185 165. Who do I need to talk to? I'm like we have 21s right what do you want? A 195 40 Yes, change the world right now a new one a brand new toy and by the world you mean like are like 0.001% Nisha of the world that like 16 people fucking order them everyone's like you honestly if they would sell out if they did one run Yeah, of course they sell if they did a retro line of Like coca tire does retro tires for like lost the car

If one of these manufacturers came up the retro line Everybody we afraid are gonna sell out. So they'll buy five fucking sets each They would be like oh, I want two of these sets Three of those one of the deal does buy a multiple sets because like you have 13 you got 14 you got 15s You have 16s that you want to run different variations of cars. That's funny You'll be five assholes though We run the same tires for 15 to 20 years. Oh yeah By the time we came around and actually used the other spares we had they all be dry-rotted anyway Do you remember the tires that you have outsides and out there? There were any one eighty five there's a one six five forty five one six five forty five. So was like two months ago or a month ago I said yo check out those tires. What do you want to do? Because none of them do their their tracks or garbage or a ride dry rod. I that's not we're walking in here. I'm like Yo look at these things in here. Danny's like no, no, no, those are bad. Those are bad. Don't look at them We had to change the tires on the mark two. Yeah, literally we did a test drive and then it was leaking So we took the tire off and it completely defeated and just like fell apart coming off

He's like your But to yeah, it was what sariens argument. They were 10 years old. Well, I mean, it's funny even though it's like Danny These these tires are like 16 years old. He's like let me see This is Yeah, Danny's a little bit of a basement. Did you ever see the the Indian movie With the the motorcycle the fastest Indian yeah, and how he was just like puttin Just shoe polish on the tires of like I mean those tires were like 30 years old at the time or whatever So that's Danny just fucking throw some shoe polish on there 10 years ago me absolutely outrun those tires 100% This give me those time up for a month now like that. I have a kid. I'm like, that's not good. Yeah, once you get there I think about it. I'm like, yeah, if I'm just trying myself sure, but it's like I have just yeah different mindset Yeah, we need good tires though. We do we need good tires Retro line of tires are dead from like one vendor they would kill it. I think you're right I think if somebody that actually made a good tire came out with a retro

Because it's not just you know, you got Volkswagen you got Audi's you got like you got even like old ladies and shit Like Honda's I don't talk to you We know one hot guy yeah, yeah, all the time, you know So I saw I saw a Real the other day That had me kind of rolling because like back in the day that Dunlop D9000 was like Oh, yeah, I have and as time went on this company federal came out with tires Man used to get shit on Right someone pulled out one of the federal five nine fives with like the flames on the side wall I just took those off the mark too Yeah, but this but this real like some guy pulled it out and he was like this one's for the real ones If you know, you know like that like we're now like you'rening for trash from the past We have it. Please give me those set of federal's Yeah, the five nine fives didn't stretch for shit. Yeah, they were a bad looking tire for like a stretch tire But like you'll never see another D9000 side wall. Yeah, now we're running longs. Yeah waterfalls

Dillentays whatever tires here in hard on before before like you said you get flame for running like a tire like that Like dude, what are you doing and now it's like please just give me one of those any of them. Whatever. Have said you have yeah I'm like never heard of this brand, but we're ordering for I know it is it is to that point like what brain is this Yeah, well good. Oh my god. Is it a bad thing that they're $30 each? Even when you bought the golf you were like I'm just gonna order some tires to your house I'm like you realize that thing is the tear drops are 14s right? Oh, yeah I know and you like well, there's like one tire I can choose from it. It's on the way. Yep Hey, got me back. So that's all that mattered. It's just sad. It is sad I bought a set of tires for my wagon to have it actually set for signal for the pickup truck because uh for the wheels that you built and Chad from PA shout to him key happened to have a set of 155 46 teams and it's like these were older tires already. He's had them for a few years to brand new

But it's like we're using tires at you know three four five years old And throwing them like a brand new set of wheels you just built hoping that these tires hold in the last Mm-hmm, which is kind of crazy to think about but there's no other option It's like well, like you're trying to find tires. It's like you can't find tires We can do it five years my fear is I think something will happen I do because I think someone's gonna realize that there is a market Even if you are the one tire company Well, I guess that's the thing. I guess the Chinese kind of figured out that there is that mark which sucks But in their cheap and shitty sometimes you'll see in like burn the what mark ones or work to you'll see someone like making a wholesale order for European tires, but then you never hear from those people again The problem with the Euro tires though is that they're not DOT rated And if you have insurance on a car that can you cause an accident or in an accident Ask any insurance that is the first thing insurance adjusters go go get the date codes off the tires Go check like looking see if there's any kind of mechanical failures on the car. Yeah, because if it's a tire issue that calls say an accident

They won't cover it technically If you get pulled over in a police officer sees that you yeah They want to check your tires for DOT numbers and they don't have them they can impound your vehicles and pretty much every state sure Be getting now it's more prevalent because people are trying to run side by side tires on their cars and they're like absolutely not Oh, I already thought about that Yeah, because they're not DOT rated right They can get different sizes for those types because those meals are small Hmm yeah Did it be running that next year? But they're $25 a tire yeah All right, so Let's let's talk about a little about low show. So we were just there a couple days ago Anything interesting that you guys saw or anything Heather your car was on one of the what did we call it? Crach shipping pallet. Yeah, I was a pallet. Yeah more of the first pals when you first like turn that one quarter and that all Good start your car's been getting a lot of traction. I mean a lot of people

especially The past couple days I saw that car fucking everywhere on Instagram. Did you yeah, okay, you didn't People aren't like are they messaging you or no? I just saw like all even on I've seen people message on Facebook all over you know Random it's like, you don't know what's your car. Yeah, well this car This thing car came out of nowhere for a lot of people that don't like they don't know you or don't follow you So in plus you guys are in Georgia. She down south. Well, that's sure This is more of a Northeastern car. I think to me when I was building this car and planning this car I didn't post anything about it. I want to be it's more interesting to have a car pull up and like who's fucking car is that? Yeah, where did this come from and to me that was like more appealing than Horing my car out on Instagram for what because it's like by the time you see the car You've seen it. There's nothing new you already know what it looks like you notice you know the details where if it just show Up, yeah, yeah, it was cool though. I got the email and they're like hey, we chose you to be on a palette and I was like sure

I'll be there Super early and now you got a bottle of ketchup. I think we got a bottle of ketchup I think they had a hang tag that had my name on it and I parked the car didn't put the hang tag up ran I think that's just my that's your thing. That's my thing As the car ages I opened up the hood and was like, okay, bye. Yeah He just piece out as a car ages and he like goes through different multiple shows from like different years and multiple years Even like Kyle's car. I can go back to Kyle's car And see something different I haven't seen I've seen a car a thousand times And it's like oh, huh, I didn't notice that but I think the cool thing about Kyle's car is that he does Even though I think his car is perfect. He still Is improving it he changes things up a little He's always he pulls his engine out like twice a year It's not a two-seven outie calm down relax. Really? No, but it's very much like I think we talked about it once there he He almost strategically pulls it out where it's like

He's only gonna show it like once a year maybe twice So it's not honestly shocked he didn't get a ketchup because he just like he sweeps everything always He didn't get a ketchup maybe it's because he was protected in the conax right or maybe There's like a real guy like well, and I was gonna say I'm sure maybe people sick and tired Kyle's fucking car He's gonna paint job or something. Yeah, what the fuck dude given this guy now the fucking ketchup bottle That's he know what his trophy shelf is already full. I remember him throwing away trophies Oh, so maybe he's now typing emails back to people be like my trophy Oh I can't take it I want a monster please me a monster but yeah So there was two guys look at the car and you were going over to shut the hood I think At like later on a show at some point. Yeah, and they were looking underneath and looking at the spoiler like realizing It was actually all fented I get that a lot. I people ask me what it is and they're like and then he saw you like closing the hood and like

Is that your is like now put out you and like they're like wow Like they were just blown away by the car and I think Because people haven't seen it and hasn't been out on social media. I didn't take it to any meets either I wanted it to kind of be fresh and new for the show and just so everyone knows that is The mountain green mark two that she's had for the past Yeah, whatever let's go down that story. Let's go. Let's break that down from like we're beginning of that car Until like now and like well your vision may have been in the past and see if it's the same thing that it turned into or if it's Different completely. It's completely different. I think except that it has the same engine and it that had in it No, because it's an ABA so the first built motor was a g60 first first iteration No, it wasn't okay. Actually. It's had that car throughout the years at one point it had a digifant to ABA Turbo Real I didn't know that I know that you would you know put bigger injectors in it and then like open the mass airflow box and like crank the spring back

All the way back to like get the fueling just right and put it back together and like It had like a front mount intercooler on it at one point that like wasn't plumbed in but like the turbo was like connected So it was turbo, but like it had like just a like we had had in my We were broke and we were dumb and we I think it was like so the The first version of the car was what I could afford at the time our friend was painting hence why the car even got painted And I think I thought it was cool at that point and then now I had that car I don't know 10 years at that point and it's always just been collecting cooler and cooler parts How long have you had the car now told 14 years nice. That's also your second car That's cool. Yeah, it's your first car. It was the same thing. It was a big big bumper. Yeah, it was a big bumper. No, your first car Oh my I don't remember what oh yeah He's 20

Suners leaked on your head it did I got that when I was 16 and then I got the mark two when I was 17 But not this mark two not this mark two. I was 18 some lady T-bone me and then the other mark two And we literally she literally we got our friend bin solace this mark two And we literally took the car toward a park painted it and then put everything from the T-bone car Got you into this car So it's like the first vision. So that's where the recarrows came from the g6. Okay Everything else. That's awesome the wheels. Well, that g6. He swapped it out of a car that you had Yeah, it was a carado. I've always wanted a carado. There's a car You really I've always wanted can you know I like G60's and crottos. I'm essentially canny. I've parted out for Yeah, we talked about that. I haven't had any pizat's but I like the big cars so many carados parted out over the years my god Yeah, I always I always try to hold all the works

Always wanted a crotto and the only thing I got was the g6 Would you still pull that trigger if you saw really clean one if it was wait? I'm not asking you If it was purple I would really but it would have to be Why I never got it. I never got like I know It's always there I've actually been looking at a lot of carados lately again. Yeah Yeah, but buying a carado nowadays is like trying to like Go pick up a crackhead somewhere like it's full of problems like or you're paying stupid money for Real clean a lot of hiding a lot of stuff probably I don't trust a carado. There's just it's weird I trust a carado. I will say like I would be I was anti-Soraco and now I'm like I could drive one But it would have to be a nice one Yeah, I would have to be no I have to start like really like when you come around for Danny because like after like I mean just check off the weirdo on everything with Danny Maybe but like like parting out the S2 I had for like the pickup truck with the interior in the seat and like the brown

stuff monowiper The S2 is the super beetle of early water-cooled Volkswagen's I can understand why you would say that yeah, I mean I would have been that the weird glass is so cool that comes out It's because like if you look at the Audi 200 wagon and that's the problem with it is it's too outy for the Volkswagen line Huh, I never thought about that aspect. Well you guys showed me some Instagram where there was a guy that was running like a wide body somewhere I was cool. Yeah, it's like almost like a quadro like it's a quadro Sure, it's too on the S2 actually. I was looking thinking about it. It is kind of out here. Never thought about like that aspect It's kind of cool But um, yeah, so that engine came about the car so SNS tuning back in the day who was one of probably I think the two or three companies that were doing anything with g60s so you know burning digi one chips and that was their specialty but there was the g60 horsepower list and Danny Sam and

Mikey Palmer were all on there Mikey Palmer was like one of the earliest to do a 16 valve g60 Like set up and stuff and those guys I'm sure the list is still on vortex, but this was This was Sam's carata, which I didn't I didn't know Sam personally, but I knew Danny because we were Cutting digi one chips to build a b a turbos back in the day like go get an a b a to the junkyard Turbo off of a sob Sticky injectors and then go get Danny to cut you a 40 pound chip For digi one and then you know you've got a boost at 16 valve on digi one That was like the earliest way to make like for 450 horsepower on a junkyard motor. Yeah, but yeah, so I bought that carado from Danny Who it ended up this was Sam's carado that was I think it was like the highest horsepower eight valve g60 at the time With an asterisk yeah running a hundred shot of nitrous. Yeah, so it was his drag car and I think he Put a lot of time into it and he ended up lifting the head one too many times and he just gave up on it

And then Danny had the car Which he had just put a head gasket on it, but it had like you know ported head A bunch of top-end were charger was done, you know full-built charger You know 30 pound injector tune on it blah blah blah blah blah did you want stuff all the did you want stuff you want But I bought that car from Sam Or I bought that car from Danny and man, I remember it to this day because her mom this is how long we've been together her mom gave us a ride there and we literally went to buy the car and He went to start it and he's like the batteries did Hmm, I remember We had to get her mom to take us to the auto zone to buy a battery To put in this car we're about to buy and her mom just like could not believe That we're about to buy a car with a dead battery. Yeah What now was your mom remember that at all and car person or anything My dad was okay, she was like pite terrified of like why you buy this car? Well, it's not it wasn't my money, so she didn't care

She was just like That's awesome That's great. All right, so keep it so you know So that was the engine and that like uh, and that was when she had the aBA turbo in her car that she was daily driving um, and then in typical Volkswagen fashion it decided to just I want to say that someone oversealed the oil pan so they just spun a bearing one day Um, like full engine lock up just instantly. Oh, sorry. There's right. Yeah. There was like there's probably like a few 30 45 minutes of like lifter tick. Yeah, and then don't lock up on the highway Um, yeah, when that motor blew on her I'd had the carado which the carado was like one of the first times I took it to H20 one year Um, no, that wasn't was it that car? Yeah, it was the black carado that was on uh 16 inch op wheels Nothing special, but I'd like just cut the springs before we went

It's just before we went Did you go to a carado get together? I might have been there. I so this was so we were so young and so didn't know anybody We would always go to the knees and then we would be very overwhelmed and late and then we would leave I'm sure that I'm a lot of people yeah, sure even now I'm yeah I think this is our second time going up there and we took the carado and I didn't align it So on the way back the tires were so bad. Oh, it was like fall to wrenched down Or when we're like like it was ranting a lot in the way back and I felt like I was just skating across the highway You were I was a hundred percent and we ended up taking like the last like two and a half hours of the trip was every back road We could get yeah, and it was like such a bad experience, but that carado It had a few issues like the like the spoiler winder regulator Module, you know seat belts you you name the carado problem. It had it. Yeah, and

This was in her motor blew up in that and I was like let's just take the engine out of this and put it in your mark to and I mean strange enough you go back to like my first Volkswagen Was a rabbit and I had the rabbit and then I bought a carado And then the carado got told of the week afterwards and that started the first thing I did is I want to put the g60 In the rabbit and this was like this would have been 2005 And I remember having the water cooled handbook and you go through there and it was like g60 engine swaps Or one of the hardest swaps to do into a mark one. It was like VR six swaps forget about it You know like they just like that's like the information we had in our hands. We're like Okay, the water cool performance handbook is saying like You can't do a g60 swap unless you're really good and that and that was the first thing I like the first swap I did in the cars a g60 swap this rabbit That was way before her car Which is the same car that when I pull up in the rabbit she just looked at me like

What did you just buy This thing is hideous. I can't remember How long because I think our friend was a painter at a shop and We all three got our cars painted at the same time and so it was like I remember I have a vortex post it was 130 days before so low and that was so low back in the day And so we had to do paint we did we did bodywork paint engine swap Everything within 130 days 128 days Because that's like the name of the post 128 days. I think I did it all at my We did it all at my brother's house So we like painted the car after hours at the body shop he was working at For super cheap. I mean like you're talking less than a thousand dollars for this paint job I don't even think it was that much Her whole mentality was like well if I get five years out of this I'll be happy Um, and then we got it painted. I got it dropped off at my brother's house And I'm doing everything at my brother's house and his garage. I don't we didn't have a garage

Yeah, we didn't have a garage at the time and You know, I'm like carrying tools over there in like a five gallon bucket You know like it yeah, and just like made it happen it was a budget build I think it was just and then like I said over the years was like oh I can afford this one cool part put it on yeah, I can afford it this cool part put it on oh I can get wheels like oh I got our s's I got I don't remember what other wheels I had it's almost like everything is like your victim of circumstances Absolutely like our buddy told with his super clean um What's the mark for me to take out the g60 though? I don't it nothing happened Pull ago no because it's the charger is making low boost so when's there no it wasn't Windsor Oh man, it's uh it was a oh five gti so it was like the last year As Harry's Harry's old gti on some mams, but This dude was like super anal with this car yeah, and someone's t-bone dim mm-hmm, and I was like hey

It had like 80,000 miles on it. I'm like let me get the engine swap and he's like all right cool Yeah, no problem like 600 like I'll sell it to you like 600 bucks. Yeah put that in the mark too So we got that cleaned it up and then we put that in the mark two and that was the 1.8t was in after the g60 Because the g60 was just getting a little tired. Yeah, because you drove that car for what what color was that that paint job when you guys painted that What color was the car the original look what I did it was mountain green, but it was Mixed incorrectly right because it didn't look mountain green to mine Correct and I don't know if it's mixed incorrectly or if that's just what mountain green would look like And with a base clear, but again is there variance, you know all of that Yeah, I'm out and we went to Sherwin Williams, and I was like this is the color I want because it was that The mark one the rabbit the mountain green rabbit with the yellow and the orange Oh, yeah, I remember seeing that yeah, yeah, I remember seeing that on vortex now was like Holy that was like your inspiration for the car change that blew my mind. I was like that car is amazing

I was like I want that on a mark too And I think the small bumper car pulls that color off better than any other car Now is originally big bumper car was no Now is this my first one was a big bumper this one was a small bumper Yeah, because the way I knew that car for a while Like kind of either I was when we were getting to knew or maybe right before it's seen it like on Instagram or something you know Because it's always like you you see Like you guys remember like early Instagram was like you kind of found everybody else by just like you'd be like Okay, this is a cool car. Who's liking this then you go into their thing and you'd be like oh, well look at that Look at any sort of following them, you know what I mean Um, I think things have changed now like algorithm's just shoved shit right to face and stuff now like it's more like it's Ad sponsored sponsored yeah, well, yeah one friend post. So it's like you don't even get to see your friends I know it's so fucking stupid. Is it in the go blue? How's this looking? Oh, yeah, it wasn't to go. Yeah

There was a super cool end to go for end to go yeah, that was a golf golf. Yeah, so this was an end to go GTI Full gray leather like the late high bolstered sport seats. Yeah, like I had the full 20th kid on it. Yeah, it was a really cool car You know three inch 42 draft design exhaust like the heyday of like oh, yeah Yeah, when I first met you that's what the car stuff was driving was that yeah, go boogal It was beat up, too. It was like her daily driver to shoot his gun in and like, you know, that's one of those cars You don't think much about it. It's one of the colors You don't really think much about until someone goes and gets it color corrected. You're like well, that's a cool color Oh, yeah, it's like if it's actually clean and taking care of yeah, yeah, it's a great cuz color a pearl that color That's a cool color. Yeah, so the your mark two. Let's go back to that. So like I was basically the when I think of that car It's like one eight turbo The normal

You know, you know, just a bumper waist, a little bumper single rounds. Yeah, yeah And then like I think I got bored with the one eight it was just like to me no soul it's fast sure But it was just like the driving experience wasn't there so I was ready to pull it out I we bought a camera she prefers the sound of a vacuum when you're going down the road Hey, we bought the cammy i kid We bought the bbs kit and then so I took a year trying to figure out which one to do and then we just pulled the trigger Well made you go with the bbs kit because vannic put his on yeah, and then I kept seeing a ton And of course it's the internet so it's like yeah, there's not really I don't see anyone well There's really not that many people right but so the Instagram's feeding me nothing Yeah, but came in a kid so I'm like I just I don't know I think I want to She has a full cammy x1 kit sitting on the shelf. Well, that's for like another mark two Oh I have another mark two in the garage so did you plan on this car taking it as long as it did because you want to take your time with it

Oh, this is what about four years. Yeah, it's been about four years. It really has to it's been off the roof What's clear? I know you it's like oh, I feel like it was like a year and a half right you think I'm a couple years It's been four years. I think like towards the having a child in between that Well, absolutely Last year is when I was starting to get antsy because I really wanted to take it to Alpine that's the show to me I think that's the quintessential show and it's your local show and it's my local show It's go forever. There's just I don't know that I think going from so To Alpine it just means a lot to me. Yeah, and so I think That's when I so I hammered down and was like we build two cars at once. No Luis was all on you That's great. Yeah, that was it. We didn't talk about that really like you had Yeah, major things happening all at the same time and it's cool While buying a couple cars and selling a couple cars all in between two and I'm glad that Sam like we we did a photo shoot with Sam for

I guess we'll talk for PVW yeah talk about and It's cool because we got some mountain shot with Louise and our kid is in the car Passing your seat not sick totally sleeping and so it's cool. We have the banner In the house and it's like she my kid goes by it. She's like I'm sleeping in Louise. Yeah, yeah It's just cool. So we do even though we don't have Louise anymore. We still have My car in that car together in photos. Yeah, the Crazy time. You'll always remember that time. Yeah, so I think that car You know put it together so like the the bbs kit thing The the short story of that is that That bbs kit came off of a car that I owned I sold to someone they wrecked it And then I bought the bbs kit back off of that guy Manny So I bought this car from a buddy of mine a lawns a crazy and it had a bbs kit on it Just missing the front spoiler right right the story of all bbs

Just missing the front spoiler. Yeah, so I bought this car for lawns It was a 16 valve US spec mark 2 gti. Yeah I didn't really have the fun to like I wasn't feeling the car and even the paint job whatever I sold it to this guy Years down the road He told it I bought we bought the bbs kit back from him and we're like we'll just With no plan with no plan really was hold on to it. Yeah until we find a front spoiler Well, we found new old stocks fender flares And I ended up having to get the spoiler out of Australia. Well, that was a surprise That was a surprise for her birthday. Oh, it's not like it's really a And it came in like a big box crate. They just like it was shipped amazing. Wow So then I found a same seller had the spoiler and I was like I've never seen A car with the bbs for like if you google it the time is like one silver car and like you'll see In somewhere or something. No, it's in England and he's posted he posted in 2013

And he's never posted again. So that was one of those parts and I'm like well I know it looks good on that car and you sit there you go back to it Is in your favorites and you're like oh? Want it but then I'm like oh and then you're like I was like Heather just get the spoiler. Yeah, so I got it the spoiler for like the next holiday right? So she then I'm like well now you have all the parts to the bbs kit sure And you already have bbs is and she already had a bbs steering wheel and it's like you don't want to go too far with it with all like BBS everything Enhanced is the car because of that like we're all the cars because it's too much Not I don't think it is on that car. Yeah, well this and that's kind of where we came into the what happens is like you know, I kind of She she comes up with like ideas that she wants to do I tell her she's crazy To do it she forces me to do it, so it's thank you've grown so much even as like with the CNC I think you as I just like I want it like this and we're gonna figure out how to get it like that

Yeah, I mean something as simple as like she's like I don't want side-molding on the car and I'm like Yeah, you literally have 16 holes in the sides of your doors and quarter panel that are a quarter you know three eight seven days and diameter I'm like That's not just like a oh, I don't want that anymore take it off That's like I have to weld up these holes and you know take my time and make it perfect because like that's the stuff you see That makes a car that could look good not look good. Yeah, I think it's a lot. So it's like I have all these ideas But you can't picture the car built in your head release like not well. So yeah, it's like I have all of these ideas Hoping they all look good No, you know she would push these ideas of like oh, I want this done double. She's like I went the full bay shaved I'm like no, but I want it. I still want to see the Body lines like I don't want it but no bondo. So it's like all sheet metal work everything in the engine base There's very very little filler right

Same thing with like the body work. It's all sheet metal worked very little filler anywhere where I could rear seams Welled it up. Yeah, the rear quarter panel to rear body seams are completely welded up and then shaved You know she couldn't have bought a pre-87. So I had to shave the rear emblem Which makes it even worse because when those panels are stamped to the like shrink in the middle It's like doing stuff like that, you know, it's like oh and you can't even tell but I had you shave all of the sprayer holes Yeah, she's shaved the washer sprayer holes just to put a cameo hood scoop over it Um, you know, and there though and yeah, there's like there's like a ton of little little details 100% and that just like getting that out on the podcast. That's stupid little detail people like Like just hearing that. Yeah, that's awesome. I hated the half. I was like no, I want that gone Yeah, I still wanted the slots, but I wanted let's what else can we do and there's there's a certain She has a certain way The way I am is I'm like I got this cool part. It's going on. I've got this cool part. It's going on right this cool part

She's like I don't want to put the rally grill on it's too much. Mm-hmm. I think it's too much I think it's the bbs kit with a rally front end is fighting each other I kind of agree with that. I do single round. I think it looks like you taking all of this shit and throwing at the car Doesn't mean that it's going to make sense Yeah, and that's I so I struggle with that. It's too much. I pick bad colors. I put too much on Like, but that's your style which I think is great for you So yeah, and then you know with with with the engine building stuff, you know, we had like I got some Got with these cars now. It's like almost leftover parts from calling it tectonics like I'm like hey I'm doing an abg 60 you know, and it's that's kind of one of those things like that's kind of how I met Colin as I don't even know Why we chose the ab a I guess it's just a dream thing I think we had the ab a laying around and so it was just like let's just cobble it together and yeah What you know I called Colin and you know Colin's very straightforward, dude

And I'm a hey Colin. This is who I am and he's like okay, okay, I'm like I'm building an abg 60 and it's like you hear is something in his brain click And he's like oh you are right, I'm like okay, I want pistons and rods so like her engines fully built so it's you know rods super tech pistons Then The expert of Colin is it's bored over so it's a true 2008 CC 83 millimeter Nerd stuff, but you know Colin's like well, I have 83 millimeter pistons But there's small wrist pins So I got to give you I'm gonna give you these rods that match their the ab a Long stroke this and that and then there's like well, he's like I prefer you know They most racers prefer the smaller pen wrist pins because it's less Since you're gonna wait There's more meat on the pistons and rod etc and all this stuff. I'm like okay Colin. I trust you like sure Get it down here. So it's like you know the head was already built But then going back through redoing the head and then Heather has this crazy idea

I want everything to be serocoded in the engine bay. What made you think what made you think that so I'm a we taught like when I talk serocoding and stuff like I'm thinking like Guns and oh yeah, yeah, I think to me. I don't want to see because obviously the aluminum ages it's It's true and I wanted the card to look like it rolled off the showroom floor And so that's why I chose serocoding everything or something has to be painted or it's billet or powder coated or powder coated I just wanted but everything to look clean. Yeah, I wanted to I just like I think that was the one thing I hated about the win 18 in the car Is that it was a super clean engine right but it still had Age on it and the 180's not like very aesthetically pleasing engine either Have you seen a g60? I think it's very I think my engine can be I think the g60 with the charger is that it's like How do you want to see engines built with minimalist in mind because of your how everything is shaved wire talks

And all I like the g60 looks great in that iteration because well in a stock g60 You got a million vacuum lines the g60 is such an ugly motor Straight out of the car. Absolutely. And that's why I wanted everything on the backside. I wanted everything clean I wanted as a little vacuum line I think it's my most beautiful wedges at slow-playing ever built okay, but but this is her reasoning is so the engines on the stand You know, we build this this beautiful header for it Um all these billet parts are going on like anything that I can do billet is just kind of contrast I've got the manifold mocked up and she's like It looks stupid and I'm like what what do you mean? I think it looks I think it looks great and she's like What's with all the vacuum ports on the front of the manifold so ugly? I'm like are you really about to have me weld this entire manifold up? shave all this stuff so that's I ain't time is taken to time's taken to yeah, and I'm like you're gonna have to sit down Here's the grinder smooth out the entire front of this manifold

All the ports off and you'll notice that like anything that wasn't used on the manifold cut off completely shaved off right Anything on the engine. I everything had to be I hated the breather like I all of that stuff I'm super particular. I think it's one of the best Features of the engine is a shaved intake manifold. Yeah, so she so she had like and she just like constantly with the stuff even till like right before You know, so and Helen the car was running decent and just wasn't running that good and like that I did a mountain run on that I think he's like this car's undrivable and like I literally did a mountain run for 40 minutes Yeah, we get back and I'm like I'm like oh, let me go take the car for a ride to make sure it's ready for PA You know driving around and I went to dry I didn't get out of the neighborhood and I'm like This car sucks What did you do to the car? I'm like it runs so bad and it's just like Choking out like you read like when you get into like mid range and just cut The car you have a car with die out. I'd have to wait for it to get back up to temp before I could drive many a times was

I was stranded and yeah, so and it's like had a hard hard start issue up there So literally the Friday before we left up here. Yeah, Heather was like Or I was I was like I was like we're pulling the Digi one and we're putting mega squared on the core And she's like He's like you only have to order two things five things later Yeah, I mean while I was like okay, you need so the car is still running the G60 throttle body Um Which is hard with the G60 on Digi one as you know Danny Because you need throttle switches. Yeah, or you don't need the throttle switch You need throttle position sensor. It's a P.I. Yeah, you don't need it, but it makes it Which only all the time at G60s you can just easily Just to have but the all max G60s are impossible impossible to find the throttle body whatever is amazing So I'm like great now. Yeah, so I you know picked up I'm like well, we need a throttle position sensor. So you need to order that and you know Like that it has to get mounted to the pedal box not the throttle body to like be able to get it to run right and like

I'm going through all this stuff and I said man We go to start the car like two days later. This was Sunday I got everything buttoned up the harness has done everything like starting the car. I'm like I got no spark I'm in a crank signal everything I got no spark like I'm just like I don't Like lose in my mind whatever and like come to find out that the co-op act that I'm running requires and it's separate ignition module Out of all the thousands of parts we have I don't have any ignition module there's work for it So I'm like driving to DIY auto tune thankfully they're local to me like on Monday morning first thing Monday morning Yeah, first thing Monday morning I drive out there pick up a quad spark Put that on like get the car running and I like caller my cars running You know, I'm like super excited. I'm already this is gonna work out and then I'm like Getting into tuning it and I'm like This shit's doing the same thing it was before like it's still not running good. She's like what do you mean? It's not running good I'm like, I don't yeah, we try tuning. It's hard. It's hard to tune it without a dyno Because I'm constantly I can't stay on the throttle. He's like getting mad at me. I'm like I

Just traffic every day traffic. Yes. It was just one of those things where I just had to put everything down Walk away from it and just like think about it Think about it and then it like hit me like Eureka. I was like Holy shit. I didn't put The boost part of the map and any of it so it never like when it went to boost it just flatlined it whatever the top Because it's thinking it's running NA. Yeah, I think just running NA and like I got that in then I you know before we came up here I did a little bit of like auto tuning on it and went and smooth some stuff out and like Really got it dialed in and I came and it's like crazy because at this point This is where she pushes me like way beyond what I would have just given up So you know, I'm like I come back and I'm like caller. I'm like Heather This thing rips So good is the best it's ever ran and she's like She's like, okay, yeah, whatever cool, you know, and then like she gets home. I'm like It's like nighttime like go take your car for a drive and tell me what you think and she came back and she's just like

It runs so good. Well, it's just like it was responsive. It was quick. It was just like you could easily get into the Boost it was just nice. Yes. It was just like a ton of like Her wanting crazy things Me stressing out about it. I'm all about the details. I think with this car the first rendition of the car Was what I could afford at that time and place but now it's all about The details and the small things the things that you probably wouldn't look at There's still things that need to be done in the car. Were you surprised? Were you guys surprised at like When it started coming together how well it did come together? Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna tell you I thought that spoiler. I was like this is either gonna make or break the car in the sense of look like shit Yeah, just because there's not enough out there for me. I'm so visual. Yeah, it's such a great. I'm surprised how much people like it Oh, and that's like people gravitate towards it and they don't even know what it is And that's the thing they're like what is this sport? They're looking at like holy shit

Yeah, unless you look unless you look under the underside and that's what you see the BB I saw at least three people all low show looking underneath the car Like seeing what kind of spoiler it was yeah, and they're like Plown away to be BS for because like they've never seen one before you know, it's like yeah, and then it's you know the the painted door handles The painted script door handles going to dub shed and seeing what the Europeans do because I've always felt it's funny Because I think the Europeans think American builds are so much I don't want to say cooler They're just different and then so go into Europe and seeing how different they do it There was a fire and ice that had a Porsche script handles painted the body color and I was like holy shit That looks so good. So I was like I want that on my car painting the mirrors. Well that was obvious But then with the Porsche handles the biggest compliment That I didn't think anyone would get as a triggers as our painter painted the triggers He painted the triggers and everyone's like wow, I never thought to paint the trip look so good. It was like

Are we that nerded out? Yeah, like that's the things we gravitate towards. There's a tension in detail like that Doesn't stick out, but when you know you know you're like the fastners on the fenders I wanted them all to look good and clean because I what did you put in there's just the stock Hardware I just had stainless like stainless fenders and I was like nope, that's gotta go all of those ago I was like what I have to live with it. I'm like right before we came up here literally the day before we left I'm like on the CNC mill like Making an oil dipstick I'm begging that sense alpine. She's like oh, I want this oil dipstick Orange you can't have an orange plastic dipstick in there with that engine like all of that time And work I've put into it to make it look like that and to have an ugly. That's true. I mean I agree Yeah, but that's how she wore that's awesome. It's great. It's great. You guys are like a great team and that car Really are actually is that car is pretty like it's a fucking fantastic But I'm dealing with that and then like oh one of the wheels is leaking. Let me just reseal that real quick

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, well thankfully I have a tire machine in my shop and a balancer and I have them to have a Bear set of tires in here because taking it apart the tojo just rips into pieces like yeah, I will say if something Happens to the G60 if it blows up whatever whatever three twos going in it Oh, yeah, hold on time out time out we got to talk Sorry, I will leave my G60 brethren wait a minute we will throw in a three two wait if the G60 goes all right So let's say say charger charge charger if the I would probably still rip it out Not go with the bill at one G70 I cannot spend $10,000 Yes, I thought I thought it was wrong. It's like 3,500. Yeah, even so okay If I'm gonna do 3500, I know I'm just saying I have the three two it's in the garage It's you know what I mean? I'm just hard just a little bit. We're gonna go to the next, you know, I get it

I will be the next she didn't say one four. No, that's true. She did it That's body shot that will just be the next you know rendition it will we'll cross that bridge. I will say the G60 that was in it previously Was never rebuilt in the 10 years that I drove that car so everyone who wants to shit on a G60 that car Took me everywhere granted I give you a great granted hold on that Nerd nerd out for a second that G60 always ran an air filter yeah And the breather was directly bypassed into the charger To constantly lubricate it and that's the things that ruin those chargers is they dry out or they get shit in them I will say We were supposed to do an intercooler. That is one thing we didn't have time for for alpine. I think it looks great with an Not intercooled because that was I was fighting that one really bad. I was like I will order an intercooler

It's $700. I will get it next day or two days something like that. Let's figure it out Errol's like if you want this car to go it is you cannot I mean you could run a rally style and it'll be hidden It is rally style because that was the only way it was gonna fit. Yeah, she has ran that car non-intercooled for 10 years And have never had that's why yeah, and that's in Georgia that's up here. That's heat. Yeah, it's heat And it was all had run Todd. He still gets in that you beating on your cars at all you guys kind of like cruise around I Cruise but I want to be able to get into it quickly. I want it to be there. Yeah, if you need it I want it to be there when I'm cruising a feeling spirited is that what people say, but you're not like ringing out It's not driving right now like false little walls, but you're spirited driving yes But I'm you as a driver may help it, you know, yeah, maybe probably some not beating a Chargers like red line very much. No It's a lot of shock to a I don't think I've ever read line any yeah, it's all our

You know, it's funny about the whole thought of like right now that car is so what I think is so special about is like it's very very Period Right, and it's it's like a classy period So it's like tasteful slash classy slash period On three two changes that car. Yeah absolutely changes that car And I'm not saying I like the idea. I know I'm not saying like that you're not cheering for that I'm not not and I'm not I'm just saying like that changes that car and it almost kind of goes like now It's it's special in a way that it's like oh shit like the cold the whole thing just matches up together so well And it looks like it came from in my eyes that looks like it came from like worthy see Yeah, that's how I look at that car. I'm like all this car just came on a trailer from worthy Just to put it on the record. It is not a nori silver Yeah, it was wrong. It is not a nori silver. And what is it? It's a do you want to talk about it?

Is it a range Rover color range Rover color? You don't remember the color name aluminum green Aluminum green yeah, that's the first thing that sells a maris. Oh, it looks pretty inari to me It's pretty much it's an aris. Yeah, next to the judge It's a little bit deeper because it has like so much metallic in that again the subtleties the coolness Why me like it's the key every she had books of color bullets. I saw she got that shit last year She's on she could find right even the ones that have the whole punched in the center of it for like color matching She would lay that over mountain green And see because she's always been like I went mountain green But with like a little bit of pearl. I'm like that's not how it works. Yeah, you know, just like put pearl over I mean I'm so glad pretty much yeah, but that's not mountain green Like but it's I think like that is such a class year look But I will say the last week the week before it was painted. I almost changed the color completely really I've started I started panicking and because like the interior was already orange. I don't know

I don't know if anyone Banana yellow what banana yellow gico Oh really yeah, I was not the runner up for the greens. No, what was not? Oh, sorry. Have a good Well way too much yellow in it. I see this I'm glad yeah, but like I'm glad you want to play you then match like I specifically chose the stitching in the seats to match the paint Yeah, like everything had a purpose the Gray in the seats with the Sarah coat everything yeah Was thought through the stitching through the seats and like the rear parcel tray that was my interior that that's a Do you know that your idea? That was cool. That's that is actually one of my favorite parts the stitching really yeah, it's yeah It's like it's subtle, but so good. It's like damn like who thought of that. I was looking at that just in the driver I was like I was walking stuff around it. I was wondering I was like I wonder for I and looked up Yeah, I walked around it um because usually like when we run real hanging out like we're just talking where shit talking stuff

We don't even really have that much time to like actually like 38 seconds. Yeah, it's okay cool in them We're like eating dinner talking right and I was just like this stitching right here. I'm like this is fucking brilliant. I thought that was so cool But isn't it surprising how well like it did kind of come together? Yeah Like even though yeah, you guys had everything to do with it But like when you take a step out you're like damn that fucking worked. Yeah, I love how it was like goes together Yeah, it's like you know you have zero hour before show and like shit's game changed up You're worrying about things happening worrying about getting it done. It's like how it was like years ago Obviously we have less money and like it was maybe just trying to get a car running to go to a show that alone a build like that And I think it's like it's like a throwback I think that's why I didn't post it because I wanted those feelings of like pulling up to a show and be like Who's but where did this come from? Yeah, that's that's not probably and it's still like a lot of collaboration because like The recaro seatbases um or the aluminum ones that have the recaro plates and um yeah and the recaro plates

I've gave the recaro name plate to the painter. I'm like paint this same color As the body she's she's like I don't know how I'm gonna feel about that But then it's like contrast against like the powder That's what you see it's like oh shit Yeah, it's just like there's like a lot of little things like she didn't think would look good that I did that Did I you know things that I didn't think would look good that she was like adamant about and like you know But those side molding and the fact that it doesn't have a CAE shifter in it. Oh, yeah, that's like You know, I'm doing CAE shifter you got to do a roll cage and then we're going motor sport Like it's just a different Little dude well back to the three two You know that's then we can do that well. I'm just almost saying like it you know, it's funny Like I said it looks like that car rolled off of a trailer from Wörthersey where it's like a three two is like almost Our Americanized version of that and I don't have it to the the tooth Yeah, you know, we can just willingly swap engines around exactly. They really yeah and like you see but you see a lot of that because

Probably because of those reasons where we can just do that shit So you do see like a lot of three twos or three sixes here or there whatever and it's like You don't even have emissions in our counties I think in one aspect it would be more badass and one aspect that loses some of its charm Absolutely, and I'm hoping knock on wood You know the G60 takes care of me and yeah, I'll have it for a long time and get to enjoy it and take it to a lot of places or I don't know like it's hard to drive a car that you gap the rings on And don't remember if you put the bearings in Like in the right orientation like I wake up in the middle of the night like Did I put the the main bearings in with the oil gundies facing up or down? I was putting that block together Four years ago and then the car sat for two to three years waiting for paint Waiting for interior waiting for all that stuff and so by the time it was real leather. Yeah, yeah It's not I can't smell it anymore. No, I do

Door cards the parcel everything is all leather Because at the point it was like I wasn't saving that much money by doing leather or I wanted a car that's going to test time What is it? So it's like in 10 years that as long as I'm conditioning it it's still gonna look good and shout out to the people that help too because like Um, just a standout is you know Pugazi Oh my god, the carpet and she her car only had it had gray carpet in it and it's like You need carpet nowadays. What do you do? Yeah, you get crappy aftermarket carpet I was talking to vannik and vannik was like I mean, it's kind of shitty, but you can order it from here Yeah, or you got someone like Pugazi's like, you know, oh, I have this whole jet up harder now like I'll just send you everything Yeah, it's like awesome. He's amazing for helping me out and that was tough like that you can't really like How do you prepare for that and like where do you stop and like let things go? Yeah, you know, and it's like things things to people like that that are willing to like

Dish out there stash to help someone else finish a car I feel like that's always been like the Volkswagen culture like in this little you know Neat thing that we do because like you have a lot of people that do have a lot parts and like when you're trying to find something There's somebody that has something somewhere and you never know where it is And it's like all something like boom you have like someone reaching out. It's again. I got this. I'll take care of it Like vannik vannik needed a sunroof screw Oh, yeah, for some reason for some reason we had everything for the sunroof in this bag And I was like well, I'm not gonna fish out the screw because I'm gonna lose it sure So we gave him the whole bag right we ended up needing the whole entire every single part in there for when he was putting his Jetta together. Yeah, and it's like we didn't charge him. We didn't I'm like have it for free But then sometimes it's you too because she needed windows scrapers like not the not the rubber ones that go in there but Mark to big door cars Like two door big doors are hard to find anything for big doors is hard to find and she needed the scraper holder

On the door and those generally like rust out and get crusty and she's like looking and looking This is like months are going by this. She's like always in the back for mine looking for him looking for him Can't find them. They're all crummy. Yeah, and it was like coming time to put everything together and I'm like This sucks. We got to put these old crusty ones back on and I'm like Just digging through some of these parts that I got from a friend like digging through this thing and I like Moves and stuff and I'm like Get the fuck out of here. There's two of them like taped up someone someone took their time to take them off of a car That was in really good condition put them together And I felt so stoked to like send her a picture. I'm like what do you think about these and she's like Did you paint those? Yeah, I'm like no, I found them and she's like who had them? I'm like I did Like they were just sitting there this whole time we've been stressing over like finding something But remember that high that you have just then We that's why we can't get rid of rid of every he's just trying to throw away stuff now. We're in our midlife crisis Yeah, and so he's just going away from our projects. You got to consolidate. Yeah, yeah

No, I could I could see that Another mark to to build yeah, but sometimes he's it. Oh, but the one with the one 18 it no, I have a mark to do the five the one Yeah, the two two five and that yeah, the six oh two and two two just placed in there well, it's in there Yeah, that's what we but that car that car you got a whole thing We get a kid up a whole another car and do it again. Well, I want a big bumper Yeah, that car's playing just the world problem I know I need to sell the rabbit. I need to sell some things I've way too much Listening to Scott Norton and Scott Norton saying like why do I have all this stuff on the what what's that podcast revival revival I am like, what do I have why do I have all these things? I think everyone goes through that especially like certain times when If there's other shake on on your life and you keep tripping over shit and you're fucking so sick and tired of dealing with stuff And it's like Jesus Christ We have to clean the shit up and get the fuck out of here. Yeah, I know I just yeah

I'm back in out of this a little bit because I want to move on oh, so before we do that go ahead So in five years for now, we had we definitely revisit this and sit down again and see where we're at yeah See if you're still g60 in error, but we can do a couple until then Another one So I just wanted to hit on something about low show when we were there something that kind of stuck out for me And I wanted to see what you guys thought about it um My take on Some of low show wasn't so much when we were there at low show and we were actually seeing some of the stuff that was there Because it is a cool setting there are cars all over um, like you know the pallets and everything and they're showing off like specialty cars and special people that are coming all over from different Parts of the country or different countries and all that we had the Irish potatoes to so like that was all cool, but What I noticed was the the over abundance of

Influencers and like after the fact I saw so many people That are like doing their whole like we're now here basically like we're like It's like a newscast we're here. We're talking to this person. We're doing this and that and I'm not talking like Toby doing his thing from You know 20 years ago. I'm talking like There's literally 200 people at the same time with like their little cameras on and everything else and I don't know man 22 year old trying to explain Harlequin's to you exactly stuff like that like what is and like you know Or the people that are like there for like shock value, but it's not shock at all because we've seen everything or the people that are there Because they're trying to you know show off because they just brought A high-end Porsche or whatever and they're only 20 and they're spending you know they got a $250,000 car and whatever it's just so much bullshit and to me like I feel like it's literally like the downturn of that whole

Scene I think the cool thing about Alpine is that like you've said many times No one is on their phone. Yeah very little you're right is on the phone Driving down street from the pre-to-kimi which was super cool. Mm-hmm I was very overwhelmed with the amount of really I guess just everybody having their phone in their face and your face recording going down the street right and there's just so much of like I think Alpine is such a I hate to say the word vibe because it really is just homegrown small Even though it's not small it's it's so old school. Yes, or low felt like it's the internet Gathering of influencers. It's the internet. It's the gathering of influence It's the internet in real time. Yeah, it was cool. It was a cool show. It's probably one of the biggest shows I think I've ever been to you know haven't thought about it, but it is overwhelming you know You know Jamie might have been

kind of an original And I would say that for sure and maybe those guys just look up to him 100% like oh well This is okay to do it here because this is his show, but What I heard someone say as they're walking down the street Justin in the rally golf we were sitting there talking to him about it and I hear someone walk by and like Look that's one of those Voltwagens that everybody on the internet wants to tell you that but you didn't know Voltwagon made these right you know it's like Like beating the same dead horse content You know beating they all beat the same dead horses. Yeah, you know like we've seen up to speed. We don't need Right seven more you know, we don't need you to give us your rendition or cliff notes of up to speed that James Humphrey did 10 years ago like we've already seen it. We got it. I think it's funny because people are coming up and They're there's going there. I mean, I think we're long past it, but there's an over there's a saturation Of these people that are kind of hitting the same mark over and over where it doesn't make anything that they're doing unique

And not only that what really bothers me is the fact that like say you bring out your cart, right? And like you said you popped open the hood and ran right because like you don't want to talk to people and then like what I want the court to speak for itself But there's something special about somebody that's truly interested in it right finding you maybe you know You're sitting on a bench somewhere Fucking 40 feet away from it and they're talking about it and like you guys can have a moment right but when it's somebody that is bringing A 360 camera and they got it like in your face and in their face and like you don't even have the option to be like dude Like get fucked, you know, I'm saying like I didn't I didn't I didn't know this kind of like you know what I'm saying It's like abrasiveness and stuff like that like you were not even experiencing people to people It's like that guy is showing the world and I listen I don't think I think it's a little ironic that I'm saying that and we have a podcast some some guys do it well

But what I'm saying is like I feel like when we bring somebody on we're we're asking like for their permission Do you want to share your story you want to do your thing? And it's like now that's just so in your face and you don't have Yes, you're out in public, but it's not like there's no like privacy almost, you know what I'm saying? It's like someone telling you that you're neither it's not genuine at all That's it's like someone telling you that they like you're in Norris silver mark two yes You know and I think Heather's car I mean, I don't expect people to know No, but like the What I've found that a lot of these people will do is they gravitate towards cars that they can google Yeah, and what we get off on is like the nuance yeah and the little stupid things And I always imagine that I'm like if one of these quote-unquote Influence or people were to walk up to her car they would be like look at this sick mark two golf with Some body kit and some wing and yeah exactly engine and I don't

Like like how how do you know yeah when when things get really weird like even the Soraka that's parked next to it That guys yeah, I got some Georgia too the car is like really it's that car is even more niche than her car right because it's like Where's the throttle body? Yeah, you know, you're like what what am I even looking at and like those those people struggle Because you can see how surface You know level their knowledge really is with things and it's not that anyone trying to shout out to Connor Audrey Right Audrey and the other vortex guy for winning the competition because they actually knew All of the facts about yeah, it's nice to be it sucks to be around know it all But it's nice to be around people who are true enthusiasts and not people that bought a car because it's a rare Yeah, yeah one off thing that they can make content for there's like when I was selling the jenster when I The briefly put the jenster up for sale. I had multiple podcasters and vloggers

Contact me about buying that car because they wanted it for content. Yeah, that's crazy Not because they wanted it like they always wanted my favorite mark three my favorite like I did like my favorite part of you is when you realize like that they were doing that you're like you'll fuck these people I'm keeping this car. Yeah, that's my favorite part of you being you know, you're you being you Yeah, I mean asshole that you are not just kidding. I mean it's not really. It's yeah for real It's annoying. Yeah, I know dude and and I will tell you know this firsthand that right now It's a weird community to be in Because if you want to buy a cool car you almost have to be part of the community To not just have to search Facebook marketplace bring a trailer to find a car because These cool cars now change man. What do you mean by cool? I'm even just like stock and unroached like You make or like if you know you know. Yeah. Yeah, because

I was gonna have to read on here. That's the only way that these cars change hands now is kind of like behind the scenes because When you post stuff out there if it is something cool worthwhile it gets consumed I see one who wants to use it. How many people do you think Walked by the VW vortex tent with the yellow couch and had no idea why that was there Car lounge no one knew that the car lounge was there you're probably right. I think I should actually ask Bill Chow be like hey, how many people asked you what you guys are the crop sign the fact that they had that crub sign Makes me so happy because we still Talk like that. I think the car lounge was empty there was kind of actually kind of depressing Because I think people walk by it were like I will say I didn't see it. Oh, they don't have anything This for sale or they don't know what are they doing while I was walk by right they had no idea Fuck photo bucket Well, I think a lot of those people aren't even like real like when I say when I say Volkswagen people

And I know there there are people that there's different levels there are and like but when we say it We know kind of like what we mean, you know, it's more than niche crowd. It's more the early stuff It's more the fun like weird stuff. It's the vortex shit like half of those people that were at that show They're not Volkswagen Yeah, they're popping in bangin' exactly. Oh, it's so bad It's look at me. Hey, look at me and if it's not pops and bangs It's I bought a GT3 RS because the salesman said that was the coolest car. Yeah, I think it does go back to social media Because again, I didn't put I think she won't just like seeing the cars with all of the Instagram handles or all of this and all of that So that they can find you with your stock mark seven and which you know, whatever. That's fine if that's what you're into I love that for you. Yeah, sure But it's I don't why can't why do you have to have that on your car? Because they don't want it to be organic. They want you to be like listen to who I am

Please like share subscribe to me. That's exactly. Yeah. I don't care if my car is this it's stock When you're looking down that what is it main street or what's that yeah? High street high street when you're looking down high street and you see Many many like forearms in the sky with their phone facing back towards them and then moving and talking like when you see Multiple people doing that across the sea of people It's just like it irks me the fuck out. I will say this after looking at everyone's post pictures and stuff I've been looking and everyone was like who got ketchup bottles to pick up their car. I was like, oh, maybe I should have done that Right instead of like Soon as they were done talking I pulled my car off and was like all right. I'm ready to go I feel like you said about that and what you did because For the next show you show it at or maybe next time it's online Dumb and grab we'll see you guys a dubbing that's a very organic style show that again a lot of people aren't on their phones

Well, and I was gonna we all kind of know each other So we go too far though like you know sometimes they'll be like too grumpy old man Yeah, so like you won't take a picture you like I'm getting a fuck out of here and like fucking flame suit on dog Yeah, then you know, then you just suit. I mean I was worthless without picks I do think it helps that Maybe I'm approaching of approachable like people do come up to me and talk to me about my car Like I think if it was you if it was aerole he probably would grunt or or and then walk away I'm talking about cars like because I'm retarded Yes, there it is, but you talk about you talk about cars like he's got to get the right dude Fucking he was bombarded down in Helen with Louise and you know you park and there's he enjoyed it I think the amount of work that you put into Louise, you know, oh, that's a different that's different though Like down there was different and people are probably it's not the same, but here's the phone's I think that's what I mean

Here's the problem that I have the same thing happened with her car That happened with Louise in Helen It's the first time the car has been out no one's seen it other than like the few people that would like send pictures to that were involved But the first people hey man, is this your car? Is it for sale like it's the first time it's been out what do you say all right like well it technically was I mean it was it was Again a backdoor deal like it went to a good friend who's gonna take care of it on Instagram who I think once a week was asking if my car was for sale if he could buy my car But when someone brings a car out there first thing version of your car yes the green car I just want to know who's like hey real talk let me buy your car hey can I have this can I get this car Hey when you're gonna sell it it was weekly See real talk go fuck, but that was in Helen I got I got bombarded by people that were hassling me to buy it and when I told them I'm like Because I guess they had maybe seen it for sale for the three hours. It was listed for sale

There like almost like forcefully like trying to offer me more money right And more money and I'm like It's already going to another unfortunately I'm the wrong person to ask because I will burn my car to the ground before I sell it She's definitely burn her that green car will be a Viking it'll be my coffin No actually because I want to be creamed it so just burn the whole car with me you put it in the crusher Compact it burn it you know it's funny about about making that g60 actually like as you tuned it right before you guys came up here And it's you know what what a disappointing thing when you do all this stuff and it looks the partners incredible And then it runs like shit for how about Helen that's what saying like so So now when he get up here and like As he's like Oh, it runs great, but you can't drive it on any of the fucking roads up here because you know destroy everything Let's talk about that for a second you guys have this like This fucking car right and what are you doing can you drive it you feel comfortable did you go too far?

Is it annoying that now you got to watch every little thing? I am with Kyle I heard Kyle say that you put so much into the car that you You're scared to drive the car. I get it I am nervous to drive the car. I am not scared I think arrow is more scared than anything. We won't talk about how many times I've already scraped the front On something because of the car is not on air anymore. Yeah, I took care of um Yes, I don't feel like I could just Ah around town where I live. I'm comfortable with the roads are roads are glass It's very different here. Yeah, and Dustin shawls current situation. Yes any better Because I feel like drivers are getting worse and worse. I want dust in on here So let's not go too far into that. Yeah, tell talk about that whole thing Dustin I just that is No, I was like you're just saying like oh it's fun to drive but like where does fun stop and worry begin

But you can say that about anything right like he's not a hard five Jedi right I will say the rsx. I don't get to shoot. He had the unfortunate circumstance where it unfortunately happened to him He was at a bad spot at the wrong time and that could happen, you know Danny's currently dying. What's going on over here? What happened? I got a trailer horse. Oh yeah, oh fuck Yeah, I I feel comfortable driving the car near us. We go to cars and coffee often. We do all sorts of stuff Yep, no, I have no problem. He doesn't feel comfortable driving He typically follows me in the rsx everywhere if I I drive my car And the kid is a nrxx All right, so before we go on to questions you guys have anything else you want to talk about We're at about a buck 34 So we can move on to questions if you'd like let's do a question. We have a few Unfortunately with the quick talk for weeks. Oh yeah, I know he easily could unfortunately with the questions

I got this one out super late so we don't have like tons and tons but we have a decent little amount here So appreciate your sharing questions. Absolutely. We'll start off. No poking no love says Was low show crazier this year The amount of people It was crazy. I will say we haven't been you guys included Not the only one in the mall in the mall so I think so like everyone says it's getting a lot more Yeah, I mean, it's a free show so anybody and everybody comes because I think it's free Yeah, so I would say it's probably I don't know also just just a lot of people are like just like local to there Walking the streets because I live there. Does oh, let's go check this out. Yeah, just to clear the air a little bit I am saying that like hey the show was put on and it's it's there like we were talking some shit But it's more so like the new age people coming in and everything else like I'm not throwing that much shade at the show No, the show is great. I'm just saying for VIP bathrooms. It was worth it

I hooked everybody yeah, I hooked Kyle up with so many drinks and I think they're mercados to and it's a good show and Jamie knows how to put on a show Like he's not good batter and different There's a bathroom. I did hear one problem a little kid with a e-bike ran into the side of a car a brand new car But that's potstown Yeah, you can't stop everybody right, but I mean like a kid just of Kid town it is a kid from town. Yeah, but that's what I'm saying it had no e-bikes no scooter sign But like where were the people enforcing it? Where were the people enforcing it for how long that show is? I don't know how like the span of it the span of the span and just like what was that like a mile long Yeah, I mean at least a half mile. It's yeah, it's pretty incredible It's a hundred years and there's Volunteers like someone could have been like yo kid like yeah, but you can hop on a sidewalk right away Yeah, just go right around anything

I compare it to is like the campground days of H2O where it felt like you could just walk and right right and walk and you're like man like I'm like kind of sick of looking at these fucking cars. Yeah, dude It would be like that. You'd start like going through get all look the same Yeah, you just start going through and you'd pass like 50 cards. You're like, I don't know and then you'd see pictures later like You're like you know that was amazing So by subject. What was your favorite thing to see at low show? Well, I didn't actually go I was gone before the actual show most memorable thing was Friday and Saturday or just Saturday really on that I mean just the car anything like your most memorable moment thing I Mine I just started to take kind of yeah the three-piece lobster claws. Oh, yeah, I mean South or South hands down That was cool. And that was a really clean car clean car Like that's just a wheel that you always that was a four wagon by the way. Yeah, yeah, but you think like man

That wheel looks cool. The cool is three people never even I never even thought of that We'll ever being a four though. That's like in the blue that car. No, I didn't think so was it. I think it might have been okay Oh, maybe right, but it's just like good color good execution on a drivable car Something that you haven't seen a million times, you know, it's like My thing to see I think like the like doing like going for the pre-tuket get together and seeing that and how the garage setup was and Just because like that Hollywood. Yeah, the Hollywood garage because you have like the main street that has a car show That's where low show is gonna be on that main drag and then like this is kind of like up the street a little bit Pretty much at the end or the beginning of how you ever look at like the high street And it was off to the sides of you weren't into like those kind of cars You kind of you wouldn't know about it. Yeah, I know you know, it was kind of this cool little sideshow and We saw something we weren't supposed to see it was very exciting. Yes, we'll talk about that

Favorite thing of the show and it has nothing to do with low show, and it was fucking amazing Yeah, and I was really sorry that wasn't the pre-tuket meeting Yeah, you weren't there so was this the next day? I'm just gonna put out there like this real quick Matt Rad had a nice get together at his place Had peace out. I had some awesome term of suit that probably back to working at the restaurant that me my wife met at Was awesome and we saw it at his shop. We got 20 minutes to go. Yeah, okay frosty be er I'm sorry. No poking to love also says would you rather have 10 clap-down cars or one insane build That's a great question. He's been my argument for a quality over now I would say one insane build. I think so. I think I have yeah because I have 10 clap-down cars The 10 clap-down cars is the very easy approach Yeah, it's also yeah Frosty frosty beat says

What bone stock car would you want to buy new? Any car ever golf limited Yeah golf limited any car any car of Volkswagen. I would do just any car any car ever ever. Yeah, like yeah, any Jesus Christ Golf limited 440 oh shit really how do I like Deville? Really I Like a 50s. Yeah, big big Wang. Yeah, I love that Famicuda convertible Not really on to CRV No Famicuda convertible would be up there really lost me at convertible Artichrabbit says oops, let me expand this here. Artichrabbit says What's one discontinued car or truck that you would be very happy to see back on the road

Golf limited Dodge Dakota you you're such an asshole That's the code SRT 40. I know I honestly go for this sick What what does he mean by back on the road like a new version of it? Yeah, it's just like back on the road. We're talking like day-woo Day will do my car had a day-woo. Zuzu impulse. Yeah, that was sick. It was cold That's all I remember in like five speed. I was just talking about a Ford episode. It's a piece of shit Yeah, I was Bring off some old school pictures of um, my other half she had a 93 escort GT as like a metallic blue and I had the TSW Venom's on there and actually look good until she curved them. That's not a story. I hate Venom's You look at on that score GT L. Bundy 98 says what's your go-to roads trip snacks? Sunflower seeds pork rocks really Let's talk about sunflower seeds for a second. How the fuck are you discarding the outer layer?

You just Sound pretty good in the head The hot sauce the Taco Bell hot sauce sunflower seeds the Danny actually dropped some off at my house when he came to visit And I was like some flower seeds like I like these but they make my tongue hurt So I just demolished the bag he left and then I've been like addicted to whatever the hot beans Yeah, they're good A cheeto person in a red bull cheetos are fucking a red bull cheetos and red bull. Well you eat the cheetos Yo, you're not white enough to be that trash is what I'm gonna say white That is fucking nasty. I don't do originally what kind of red bull I do either the peach or the blue. I never tried that. I spare you ones. Yeah, I just don't do Totally But they fucking make so much of it miss the cheetos the crunchy ones All of them pups cheetos Puffs are crunchy which one I do them all what's number one? I love crunchy. Let's hear number one number two puffer crunchy

Probably crunchy the house to be crunchy right Puffs got a comment, but you don't like how the the puffs like stick to the roof of the mouth Where's my dude fucking cheeho dust everywhere Dude I put them No, I put them in and lightly start pushing my tongue Man, that's a that's a good one I usually go for more like the meat sticks and stuff like that's kind of my thing I don't know I know it's boring, but that's what I go towards eat yours good You know I said you ever had bison Yeah, yeah shit like that So we're going somewhere like how we go it had a bag of pork grinds. I love pork grinds dude and cheat to run Around to give my sons off some play the back seat and like the bag just turns over On him

And that's like that pork grind sand at the bottom I'm always like don't get everywhere. Don't get it. I fucking don't the whole bag. You just dump it on him He's just covered here. Oh My god. Yeah, that dust is not fun Auto bond 76 says given the chance What's one vehicle that you would own for oh from cinematic history one vehicle from cinematic history Jeepers creepers drop That's a good one. That thing is so bad at my funny that yeah Yeah The cab over can you imagine that part like at the back of the driveway at night? All right. So is it just like the movie? It's not from the movie. But I'm but okay, so my question I'm I'm gonna total nerd out back to the future Sure one what with the delirium, okay, but like 464 convertible so can I like fly with my Yeah, it's you want you want the time for she so then do you want to do that's my yeah, the learn time machine

Okay, that's hers. I like that. What yours? You ever seen black Cadillac her so I'm assuming we're talking about a black Cadillac no the sob 9000 oh that's a weird twist Cadillac holy shit So that really movies about a group of college kids that are in the sob 9000 turbo that go to this mountain town They get chased around by this 69 L Dorado, okay, which is really sick But like that course. It's like a ghost core and it's chasing these kids around but they're in the sob 9000 turbo And I'm like I've always wanted a sob from that movie Just since that movie Dodge from the race Man, you're like dodgy heavy tonight that car so this is a dodged podcast We saw Dakota earlier and he just went not Yeah, and he showed me the picture of him in his Dakota Yeah, I hit the market moment and I don't know where it is right now. I can't so And that's it's hard because like you have a lot of good movies

I'm good cards. I would probably say well dodge from the race is a good one, but you can only pick one day Yeah, dude, you're done. I know that would that's I just threw it out there. Just gonna dodge thing But my would be the five would no coop from American refeeding I thought you were gonna say that when I first asked the question. Yeah, cuz that's when you're favorite, right? Always the yellow stuff Simply diets says y'all running any shimmel stuff and what do you think of the 12-valvee RT? I'm building Sorry, dude. I don't know about your build. I Don't have any shimmel stuff. I currently would like to take an engine up to Bill and have him build We're just talking about what's recent for me I actually have a head that He built You're too autistic to have someone else build something for you Um, he's got a good rip No, I don't mean by that. I mean like that's your legos. I have to go through this dude's Stuff and see what he's building here, but um my 12-valve supercharged build is

a thing Yeah, it's a thing that's going that's for sure in your mark three. Yeah, that's a lot You don't care for it I don't know yet getting dyno tuned right now and I got to fix some things for it and go back to the dyno Yeah, my daughters Um, Justin Waiskov says how do you keep a car show fun small and still profitable Low show is getting insane Don't have it at a convention center Okay So no, no, no, no, you say that but dub shed was amazing at a convention center. It's in a different country It's a little different. What's the different country have to do with anything? It's because they don't have they don't have shit that we have show an entire country The country is the side is smaller than Georgia. I mean, but it's small every show we've gone to that's in a convention center is a pain in the ass So what was the question? How do you keep it small and it says how do you keep a show fun small and still profitable?

I Mean, I don't know like when you say profitable like what are we talking? We have a need a certain margin or something we got it I don't know to be profitable Well, I mean you wanted to pay for next year does he want Paul bond is be said? Yeah, you do you need it to pay for next year um That yeah that if it hits your mark there and of course it will grow a little bit over time I think you have to keep it real I think if you have a show and you have a good attitude about it and you're in it for and it sounds so corny If you're in it for the right reasons and you're not out there just to for the money grab I think that is Very transparent to everybody that attends. I also think like events is like you trying to do too much on one show Is too much Yeah, I would tend to agree Dance party I think it has to be organic. Yeah, too much too fast is This just this what it is too much too fast

There's a lot going on with the little show and like to try to keep something small profitable It's anything now no matter what you do like social media is a huge Influenza so if it's successful It's gonna keep growing every year and every year and every year and eventually it's gonna get to point. That's crazy There's too crazy so I don't know. It's tough. It really is because I think you've you stayed in a certain lane It's not gonna grow into like a low show and that's why if you look at like a pre-tuk event or like a rad style event That's kind of where you want to be if you want to do something small Nice rabbit-dropping said why are you guys so cute? I love your face. I just saw you. Thank you. In the convertible Yeah, yes German bomber says junk daily or Cross-country road trip. Yeah, it's always so good. So it's fire truck Swat truck or garbage truck. Okay, again These are junk daily or cross-country road trip. So you got fire truck, swat truck, garbage truck

Well, you got to junk the garbage truck. Yeah, that's gone. Just smud. Are we on the same page here? The garbage truck being junk I think the garbage truck inherently is part of the junk. Yeah, so it should be junk I think swat truck for a daily all know I agree. No, I'm swat truck as a daily because you just run shit over you go So you're gonna travel cross country to fire truck with the truck Has no truck open the back the back is open you get some air flowing there. No, it's daily And road trip. Yeah, daily. That's why you have a laugh because we junk daily fire truck Swat truck is the road trip That's gotta be closed. Yeah, I'd probably tend to agree. Yeah, I don't know the fire truck could be kind of a cool cross-country I think it would be kind of road trip. I think you get significantly better fuel mileage in the story. Wait your fire truck are we talking? I don't know one new one and 1993 The nine 11 trucks they have the big massive bumpers hanging off the exactly All right, it says

Dubbing grub says no questions just want to say see everybody on Friday at dubbing Yes Also what he hates when I say this auto Craig NYC says thank you always for sharing all of our posts that you that we tag you in you guys are the goat. Oh, thanks man Appreciate it. It's gonna be fun this weekend. Yeah Static rabbit says new project 85 Jedi coupe do I keep small doors or go big doors big doors? Small bumpers big door all day Hmm, it's 85 though, so it's not gonna is gonna have the stick on the get a coupe So you don't have the stick on side trim so pull that off because you lucked into not having holes in your doors and go But then you're going big door. They got yeah, you're gonna have holes to fill I say keep small doors I agree with the small doors on an early car I think it came that way. Keep it in rocket. Yeah, yeah, because he actually worked now like the mark one quarter What was it like a

Yeah, keep a small door Something subtle says are you guys checking out northeast unity this year? Yes, I wish Just come back up We're keeping we're single handsly keeping every diesel fuel station and business on Dude I keep thinking about you. I said it's like 619 I get 14 and a half miles per gallon. Oh, you're talking things That's actually pretty good when you're towing yep, okay, that's not bad actually War egg was insane. It was like 19 my rotor against eight. Yeah, that's different though eight eight um Small pop hypothesis says What is the line that takes okay? What is the line that takes a fun to drive Showable car and makes it too stressful to drive I should ask Heather Putting too much money into it. What is the line? What do you cross over and you're like fuck me? I have a perfect answer. Okay

It did when you have to put it on collector car insurance That's literally the line because if you have every car we have is on collector car insurance But that restricts you from being able to daily it. That's a good point. It's literally the line Yeah, we we had to sit on a pigtail in them all I mean we had to submit pictures of her car to the American collectors Like why do you want to ensure for that like why do you think it's worth that like It will they don't know making this up like but that but you know yeah go to progressive and ask me to do the same thing Yeah, they don't see a chevelle so they're like what you know what I mean you would drive a mark too golf So they don't even what is that real quick nice rabbit my insurance my collector car sure It's actually dropped me for this year because they don't like to sink rope a sought wagon No one does because I know because it's super Because it's supercharged and I was like when it came stock with a supercharger I had Haggard before going back to Haggard you have to say after you actually saved like a melon like It's like you're doing Haggardy. Yeah back to Haggardy which is cool because it's like saving it's like nine bucks a month with it so it's awesome

Um, let's see You know Pro-wagon performance says if you had to buy a current Volkswagen model from their whole global lineup what would it be global lineup I would do an up do they still do surakos? I'm I was what market has current model what market has the old mark two stamps like yeah Weird market that still popping out mark two's a mark three's yeah Chinese market mark two with the way near somewhere or something Um, yeah current current. Well, I don't even know what's out there. I don't know what they offer like globally anymore I really don't you can buy the truck oh yeah, but those are forwards the Pisa yeah the shooting break Pisa do they still have the do they have in the mark eight? Did they do the golf are wagon thing they do in a market yes

That would be fun Yeah, well your D.S.G Yeah, that was a good car It was The interface sucks on those cores. I mean, it's a great core, but like cabinet turn it off all the time.
