#19 Dr. Anthony Chaffee, MD - Chronic Disease, Corruption & The Carnivore Diet

Dr. Anthony Chaffee is a former professional rugby player turned neurosurgeon, who’s built a massive online following around his deep conviction that the all-meat carnivore diet is the optimal diet for human health. If this sounds crazy to you, you’re not alone…I thought the exact same thing…until I stumbled across Dr. Chaffee’s podcast (The Plant Free MD), listened to every episode over the course of my time backpacking through Colombia in late 2023, and wound up with a fridge full of ribeyes and a completely blown mind regarding everything I thought I knew about health.

This is an extremely important episode for me, as Dr. Chaffee’s work has been enormously impactful on not just my own personal health, but my knowledge on the past, present, and future of global health as a whole. He single-handedly dragged me straight through the “All meat diet? That’s crazy!” phase to the “Holy shit this actually is the optimal human diet” phase in record time, and thus I am tremendously grateful he took the time to sit down for a chat with me, to unload some good old-fashioned Chaffee rants on the topics of carnivore, chronic disease, medical corruption, fraudulent science, and more!
