Where Pastor Bob teaches you how to apply the truth
in your Bible to your everyday experiences,
so that you might enjoy better life.
The title of the message today is,
what time is it prophetically?
So if you have your Bible's open,
let's pick it up in Revelation 6 verse 9.
When he opened the fifth seal,
I saw under the altar the souls of those
who had been slain for the word of God
and for the testimony which they held.
And they cried out with a loud voice saying,
how long, O Lord, holy and true,
until you judge and avenge our blood
on those who dwell on the earth.
Well, if you haven't been here with us
as we're going through the book of Revelation,
I'll give you a quick recap.
Basically in the book of Revelation,
there's an outline in Revelation 1 verse 19,
and it divides the book into three sections.
It says, verse 19,
write the things which you have seen
and the things which are
and the things which would take place after this.
So the three divisions in the book of Revelation are
the things you have seen, that was past tense,
that was Revelation chapter one,
and then the things which are,
that's the present tense, that's the church age,
that was Revelation two and three,
and that's where we're at now currently.
And then after this, that's the future after the church age.
And so we said it on Wednesday night,
Revelation chapter four, about the rapture
and how the church won't be here
during this seven-year tribulation period,
because it says in verse S. 1 and 5, 9,
for God did not appoint us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So basically we talked about how God sent his son Jesus Christ
to die on the cross for our sins,
so that we would not have to experience God's wrath.
And so then we read in Revelation five,
where after the church ages over,
then the church is in heaven worshipping in Revelation five,
nine, and it says, and they sang in new songs,
saying, you are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals.
And you were slain and have redeemed us to God
by your blood out of every tribe and tongue
and people and nations.
So we saw the churches in heaven worshipping God,
and then now we get to Revelation six
where we started last week.
And Jesus is opening these seven seals,
which begins this seven-year tribulation period.
And we looked at the first incident,
was the writer on the white horse,
which is the antichrist,
but which he will come with his false prophet.
And that will bring into the world
a time of one-world economy, one-world religion,
one-world government.
And we see if you are a student of prophecy,
you see that that's coming.
Where we are today is verse nine.
He says, when he opened the fifth seal,
I saw under the altar the souls of those
who had been slain for the word of God
and for the testimony which they held.
Now, who are these people in verse nine?
Well, these are people who come to Christ
during this seven-year tribulation period.
Now, after the church is removed.
Now, these are people that you or your friends
or somebody has witnessed too in the past
and after the rapture happens
and the antichrist comes on the scene
and the antichrist is going to require
that everyone bow to him
and you won't be able to buy or sell without the mark.
And if you refuse to take the mark,
then you're going to be arrested
and ultimately put to death.
Now, these people that we're reading about today
are those people who know enough
not to take the mark of the beast,
not to worship the antichrist,
even though he's going to deceive people
in the thinking that he is the Messiah
because they know some scripture.
Maybe you told it to him.
So, these people that we're reading about in verse nine,
they were slain because they believe in the word of God.
Now, I don't know if you know this or not,
but there are places where if you speak the Bible,
people say it's hate speech
and they want to put you in prison, put you in jail.
And so, and there are places around the world
where the Bible is completely illegal.
Now, imagine when the church is gone,
what it's going to be like.
And then also the second reason,
not only because they believe the word of God,
but for the testimony which they held
because they told people about Jesus
and what he did in their life.
And now, there are many places around the world today
that if you share your testimony,
then you get put in prison and lots of places.
Because we live here in America,
we don't really think about it or maybe you don't hear
about it much, but in places like Iran,
if you go out and tell somebody about Jesus
and show the gospel, then you get put in jail
and you get beat, Sudan, Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India,
and all these places, they are against the Bible,
against Christianity.
And we're so blessed that we live in a country
where we can come to church here
and we can share the gospel.
We can be free to share.
You know, a couple of weeks ago,
we got invited to be involved in the God in Country thing.
And our church got to be there and Ryan Rees
showed the gospel and hundreds of people came forward.
And we gave out hundreds of Gideon Bibles and tracks
and we got to pray with people.
It was just a great thing.
And sometimes when people think about what's going on
and where are we prophetically,
when you think about where are we in time,
we're in a time where God is giving us opportunity
and open doors to share the gospel
with as many people as we can before this time comes.
Now, when you think about where are we,
well, we're right where things could change.
And when you think about what's the purpose of our lives
until then is God wants us to share with as many people as we can
to invite as many people as we can to go with us, right?
I mean, we want to bring people in it.
You know, if you watch a new movie or something,
you're like, oh, you tell people, oh, you should watch this movie.
Or if you go to some restaurant,
like, oh, it's a great movie.
You tell, you should go to the restaurant.
You need to tell people, you want to go to heaven,
you need to invite Jesus in your life, right?
You need to tell people, this is the good news
that's really going to change your life.
So in Revelation 6, 10, he says,
and they cried out with a loud voice saying,
how long, oh Lord, holy and true until you judge
and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth.
Now, this tells us that these martyrs
are from the tribulation period,
because they're asking God to avenge their death
on those who are presently living on the earth
during the tribulation.
Here in chapter 6, the tribulation is starting,
and they're saying, hey, on these people who are on the earth.
So we know that in Revelation 13,
the Antichrist is on the scene, right?
He's given power to destroy those who won't take
the mark of the beast.
And if a person doesn't take the mark,
they're going to be martyred there in Revelation 13, 7.
And it was granted to him to make war with the saints
and to overcome them, and authority was given him
over every tribe, tongue and nation.
Now, when you read verse 7 of Revelation 13,
you might think, well, he's making war against the saints.
Now, does that mean, what does that mean?
Well, in the Bible, there's three groups of people
that are referred to as the saints.
In the Old Testament, you have the saints
referring to the nation of Israel.
In the New Testament, you have saints referring to the church.
And here in the book of Revelation,
you have saints referring to those who are saved
in the tribulation after the church is raptured.
And so when it says making war against the saints,
there are going to be people who you've shared with,
but they think, hey, I don't want to hear it, right?
But there are going to be people
who maybe they've come to church,
you've invited them to church,
and they know about this stuff,
and they think it's kind of cuckoo.
But then, when this Antichrist comes,
and to me, it's just so obvious
to look at all these prophecies being fulfilled.
You just see the one world government was on track.
I mean, many of our presidents previously
were on board with it,
and so many of the world leaders
are about the one world government.
You see the one world religion coming,
and you see the one world economy coming.
And so he says in verse 11,
then a white robe was given to each of them,
and it was sent to them that they should rest
a little while longer,
until both the number of the fellow servants
and their brethren who would be killed
as they were was complete.
Now, as the Antichrist establishes his reign on the earth,
no one's going to be able to buy or sell,
and if you refuse that, you're going to be put to death, right?
And so when you think about what's happening,
where we're at in time and what's coming,
we never should feel bad about witnessing
to our friends, our unbelieving family members
or friends about receiving Jesus,
because when you speak to them now,
we know biblically some of them
are going to make it into the tribulation.
As we go through the book of Revelation
in the next couple of weeks,
we're going to get into some crazy things
that are going to happen during this seven-year period of time.
And God doesn't want anybody to go through that.
He doesn't want you to go through that.
And that's why the Bible says he desires that none would perish,
but that all should come to repentance, right?
God wants everyone to receive Jesus as their savior.
And after the rapture and after this period starts,
the gospel's going to continue to be preached by others,
so we're going to see the two witnesses we get to there.
There's going to be, and people are going to get saved.
And there's going to be a great revival
during this tribulation period.
Now, here's the thing though.
You don't want to get saved then, right?
You want to do it now,
because that's going to be much more difficult.
You have to be martyred.
So he goes on as as of verse 16,
then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up.
And every mountain in island was moved out of its place.
Now, this could be, as it says,
the sky receded as a scroll,
in my mind, it could be a picture of a hydrogen bomb, right?
Have you ever seen a hydrogen bomb go off?
It kind of rolls up, you know, like a scroll.
And it could be an atomic hydrogen bomb.
Now, as we're going to talk about the mega invasion,
it could be that as this invasion happens,
that they be lighten off, you know,
atomic hydrogen bombs.
And it could be that that's what he's seeing,
could be that's what's coming up.
Now, we know, somebody might think,
well, are they going to have atomic bombs going off?
Well, it could be, bombs could be going off,
crazy things are happening, right?
And you just think, wow, what's next?
He says in verse 16,
and he said, and they said to the mountains and the rocks,
fallen us and hide us from the face of him
who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,
for the great day of his wrath has come,
and who was able to stand.
Now, here in Revelation 6, when someone might ask me,
well, pass it on, what makes you think
that this seven-year tribulation period is the wrath of God?
Well, when it says right there in verse 16,
he who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb,
for it is the great day of his wrath, he has come, right?
So, we see that this is the wrath of God,
and this encourages us to know
that the church won't be here on the earth during that time,
because in 1 Thessalonians 5.9 it says,
for God did not appoint us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, that's the good news, right?
That God sent his son Jesus,
so we don't have to experience the wrath of God.
That's so good.
And if you're here today,
you need to be reminded that God loves you so much,
as the Bible says, for God so loved the world,
he gave his only begotten son,
that whatever sin, whatever mistakes you've made,
whatever wrong you've done,
that Jesus came and shed his blood
so that you could be forgiven,
that all the guilt, all the shame of the past
could be washed away.
And that's important for us to understand
that God sent his son for everyone.
No one needs to go through this,
but there'll be people who are gonna go through it.
So what is the next major event on the prophetic calendar?
Well, as I study the scriptures,
I believe it's either one of two things,
either the rapture, which I think it's that,
or the mega-g invasion.
Because people have asked me,
is the mega-g invasion before or after the rapture?
Well, I don't know,
but it's one of those two things coming up,
the rapture, and we studied that on Wednesday night.
Well, as we studied Revelation chapter four,
we did a whole study on the rapture,
and that the church is gonna be taken up.
There in 1 Thessalonians 4, 16,
it says, for the Lord himself would ascend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of an archangel,
and with the trumpet of God,
and the dead in Christ will rise first,
then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up.
Now, remember that word in the Latin is raptus.
That's where we get the word rapture.
So when someone says, well, pass it off,
the word rapture isn't in the Bible.
Well, if you have a Latin vulgate Bible, it is,
which I have on my computer.
So right there, that word is raptus.
That's where we get the word rapture.
Together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air,
and thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Now, I love verse 18,
therefore comfort one another with these words.
Now, isn't that comforting note
that as we, in the weeks to come,
as we study this seven year tribulation period
on the earth, the wrath of God,
that it's comforting that you're not gonna be there.
Isn't that good?
Isn't that comforting to know?
We're gonna stop there for about a time.
