Now here's Matt Jones in his game day, ladies and gentlemen, Kentucky and Santa Clara,
the NCA tournament tips off this morning as the cats get started on their journey.
Why not to the national championship beginning here in St. Louis.
You can give us a shout out on the Clarks Puppet Shop phone line 8592802287.
A vision auto glass text machine is 772 7745254 and this edition sponsored by the T.J.
Smith Law office called T.J.
He'll make them pay you guys hope for listening on streaming or on your stations that have
the pre show for the rest of you.
You might be hearing this from like 10 30 to 11 30 on the repeat version of the show, depending
on where you are.
But we are excited this morning, cats with an early tip off in a big game.
Ryan, we spent all day watching games yesterday.
We spent all day talking brackets.
We just looked at the status of all of our brackets here right now and now it's time
for Kentucky to actually play.
When I woke up this morning, when it got in the shower, it kind of hit me like, wait a
minute.
This is it.
It starts for us right now.
You said, watching everybody else play, now it's time to put our uniform on and go out
and play.
Yeah, by the time you get home from work today, for those of you that may be are either
on your commute or just got in, unless you're skipping work to watch the game, which
you should be.
Yeah.
Maybe I can't imagine what you're doing this afternoon that this better, but unless
you're doing that, when you get in your car to go home today, Kentucky will either be
in the round of 32 or the season will be over.
Like we're in that, we're in that mode, and it's exciting.
Yesterday, we spent, we spent most of the day at the arena, Ryan and I got there right
after UK finished practicing because we were doing the show, but then we watched, I guess,
some of, I would say Tennessee State Purdue, Queens, all those schools were right there,
and we got to watch them do whatever it is they do.
I bought a $6.00 on a chip cookie.
He's really mad about that, Shannon.
The chocolate chip cookie was $6.00, but part of me wants to go like, what, this is what,
when you buy things at sporting events, they cost too much.
That's part of the syntax, Ryan.
Yeah, it's a syntax.
It's exactly right.
Do any type of chip cookie over $3.00 that blows my mind, but you also just said you didn't
have to pay for it.
Yeah, the fact that you bought it, I mean, you didn't have to get it.
That's the market for it then.
The thing was, I will say this, I didn't know they were $6, Shannon, and I just took one
and walked away.
Oh, wow.
No, they said, quickly, I think they take a little moral high graph.
Right.
Normally, the media food doesn't cost money, and apparently, it is on the house the rest
of the week.
It was the first day, but I didn't know because normally, we've never had to pay.
Right.
By the way, I've always thought, I've always thought it was weird that the media got free
food.
Yeah.
It's my entire life.
I've been like, why do they give us food?
So, I actually, one of the people not complaining about this, but I walk over and they're
cookies and sodas, and I was like, oh, okay, and it looked like a big, nice chocolate
chip cookie.
Yeah, big knife, so Shannon, I took the cookie, and I took the soda, and I sat down, and
an hour later, Ryan comes over and goes, can you believe they charged $6 for this chocolate
chip cookie that I got?
And I went, and charged me, and we're all looking at you like, what, and he said, how did
they not charge?
And then I realized that there was a guy there to pay, and I just walked past him and
didn't know.
And he doesn't care.
And he clearly didn't care, so now I have a moral quand, right?
I already got the cookie.
Yardy ate it.
But I'm probably on video having stolen the cookie.
The cookie monster came in.
The cookie monster.
Right.
So, I walked back, and I looked at the guy and said, I took a cookie.
I didn't know that we charged, and then we goes, well, we do charge, and I was like,
here's $6.
So, I went back and paid it.
You did?
Like, I haven't paid for it, but you, but Brian was very upset, but anyway, after we
had our $6 cookie, Mario was there for the UK stuff, players, Kentucky, except there
was any news, Kentucky had a full practice.
We watched Queens Purdue, Iowa State, and Tennessee State, and they did kind of what
people do.
They run a few drills, they shoot a lot of shooting drills.
Just a shooting, like, you know, it's not really a real thing.
And I think last year, that's what Kentucky did for the most part.
But this year, I did find it interesting.
They did five on five.
They were the only team all day that went up and down the court five on five, and I thought
that was, I actually kind of liked that because I've always thought, it always felt like
to me it was a wasted hour.
You're on the court, you're playing with the balls, and guys just kind of stand around
and goof off.
I was like, well, why wouldn't you take it seriously?
It looks like UK, because I don't think they did that last year, so I do think UK took
a different strategy.
I've never, ever seen a team do that.
I think I have a full out five on five practice of this little, it's like 45 minutes.
I'll think it on the court like that.
So for Kentucky, though, you know, maybe a month or so ago, you heard Pope talk about
how they changed things up with their practice routine, try to make them ready and not fall
behind early in these days.
What did you like that?
Because I actually did.
I think it maybe a good move on his part to try to get him more focused and ready for
the game today.
Yeah.
I thought that was an interesting, and anyway, and it wasn't just Mark Pope's philosophy.
I don't, I do not think they did that last year.
So are you worried about their legs at all, though?
No, come on.
Come on.
It's 45 minutes.
I mean, come on.
Back days.
I'm busy.
Just seeing a guy's yesterday played, didn't have make one sub, the whole game.
Five guys played a fall for him.
Did you know that, Shannon did make one sub the entire game?
Yeah.
And now, great, and they've got tired at the end, but, but, but I, not at all.
I liked it.
I think we watched all day, and I probably pointed out six times, Ryan, with ball bounce
times.
Yeah.
Like, you can watch it.
So I think getting used to that is good, beneficial.
So it's good.
Maybe that's where going five on five up and down the court, help you become more used
to that basketball.
I think that's why you do it.
Yeah.
At least, at least to me.
In the locker room, they open the locker rooms.
It's always been unique to me that the NCA tournament is the first time you can go, the
SEC in the NCA tournament where the people are allowed in the locker room, you know, UK,
and UK is not the only school.
I think every school in the SEC does this, other conferences, I don't know what their
policy is, but you're not allowed in the locker room during the season, right?
You used to be.
Yes.
I remember that.
I never was part of that.
Was that your era?
When I first got here, Patino in 96, you could go in the locker room after the game and
talk to the players.
So I do think there's a period of getting used to that for players.
I don't know if I think those locker rooms should be open, but regardless of whether they
should or not they are, right?
So you have to get used to it.
Again, we weren't there.
Mario was there.
Did you think Mario, the players look loose?
No, well, that's a little shaky.
What?
They were joking around a lot.
Okay, that's good.
Mario interviewed all the players, that's what it meant by get money.
That's how it's money.
And they all looked at him like, I actually thought it took guts for you to do it because
that seems like something an old white guy would ask and you are like one of their peers
and you asked and they seem, but they explained it.
Yellow bitch was the best.
Yeah, yellow bitch was like, I don't know.
I honestly, I don't know if you're able to tell, I just say it, but I don't know what
I'm saying.
Yeah, I just do it.
I like that.
So, but if I'm glad the players were loose, I mean, overall, I don't know that there's
much you can glean from yesterday, but it occurred, then you have the Pope press conference
thing.
I, we just, people discussed, including me online, quite a bit, you know, I don't want
it, the games today, there's no reason to go into it, it might be a conversation for
next week, his comments about the Yaxle thing.
I don't want to get too distracted on it because it's, it's game day.
And so ultimately, let's, let's focus on the game.
But regardless, we are now ready for saying a clear on how we're feeling.
Almost like just one thing.
If he had talked to the media after the pairing, they would have asked that question five
days ago.
We had to deal with the day before.
It is an example of why you should have the press conference Monday or right at the
pin.
Then you wouldn't have gotten asked about it the game before the game.
So Santa Clara, how do we feel?
I can say it.
I kind of woke up this morning in the shower like, wait a minute, this is what you woke
up in the shower.
Why were you sleeping in the shower?
I was in a big blue slumber.
You woke up in the shower.
Did you see Shade of by the way, what he wore when we walked out the house for dinner
last night?
And that wasn't, he wasn't trying to be funny.
That is what he came out of the house in.
We weren't going to somewhere nice, but he didn't know that.
He had no idea where we were going.
And we walked out and you said that was Dane Key's jacket.
It was Dane's jacket and they all, all the young kids, they pulled their hoodie up over
it.
But it doesn't fit.
It doesn't fit when you put the hoodie on.
Yeah, I had it.
It was all kind of crunched up.
I hadn't stretched out.
Yeah.
Yeah, I just put it on and trying to get a bunch of walking out of the house like that.
Oh, I can see man boob.
I can see nipple poking through like there's a whole lot going on.
I mean, I'm not a great dresser.
I understand.
Like I wear hoodies and hats and so I'm not, I get it, but I give Ryan credit.
Like you, there may be no person more comfortable in who they are than you.
You know what I mean?
Like there is some value to that.
You just, you are you and you are fine being you.
I don't care.
You don't.
You really don't.
And people say they don't care, but they care.
Of course they do.
Like people will say, I don't care what people think, but then you can tell by the things
they do.
Yeah.
Whether it's a woman or a man, they're doing stuff because they want to look like, you
know, anybody who like jacks their truck up in the air and then says, I don't care.
Come on, dude.
You care.
I care.
Like we all, like I think most, but you really don't care.
I tell you, you should live life, right?
You know, just every day you live life and be happy.
Life's too short, not to be happy.
And I said, can I take your picture?
I didn't spring that on him and Shannon.
He was like, yeah.
Yeah.
Let me see here.
He's trying to pose.
No, just stand there.
No, I just want you to stand there.
Cause you.
That's what you look like.
Um, anyway, when you saw the ladies like lining up when they saw me, we'll dress like
Shannon.
There was a woman.
At dinner.
Yeah.
That Mario and I agreed.
Might be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life.
Oh, okay.
I have ever seen in my life.
She walked by in like Mario and I completely agreed.
That might be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
And Ryan goes, want me to talk to her?
Ryan does.
No.
I can help you guys.
But I actually think he would have.
What did you?
No.
No.
Because I'm not going to bother this person.
Oh, the most people in the world.
You won't talk to her.
Come on, man.
No.
First of all, do you see who I'm with?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Makes you look better.
Maybe so.
But I just love the confidence that you even thought one would do that.
I was going to tell her a joke that Jimmy just told us at the table or something.
Yeah.
The man who hosted at the restaurant.
Ryan just came up and told her, Shannon just came up and told dirty jokes the whole night.
And Ryan wanted to lay one of those on her.
Yeah.
And what I thought was interesting is you walk up to a table full of strangers.
This is like a 70 year old man.
You walk up to a table full of strangers.
Just telling jokes.
Yeah.
How do you know they're going to be okay with it?
I think.
Because you see, right?
You don't care.
And he doesn't care.
And so it must be okay.
He literally the whole night just kept coming up and telling dirty jokes.
Like really dirty jokes.
Once we can't tell our mothers.
No.
And I go, man, I'm trying to eat.
Anyway, all of this to get you forever for the sake of the Santa Clara Day.
Great, great pre-game stuff.
When you see the Santa Clara team, we're bigger than them.
Bigger.
We're stronger than you.
We're faster.
We're faster.
Now they might be able to shoot better.
But the way Texas A&M played St. Mary's, if you watch that game.
It didn't have to be a low scoring game.
That's what Kentucky needs to do.
Texas A&M just out-athleted and played them, you know, and that's what Kentucky needs
to do today.
The defense in St. Mary's saw last night and what Santa Clara will see today is something
they've not seen all year long.
They just don't get that athleticism.
They don't.
But if you watch the Miami-Voil Highell game, if you watch the VCU game, if you watch
the high point game.
The common denominator in all those games is they got the other team to play their style.
They got the other team to not do their advantage, which was athleticism side.
Mario and I were watching Gonzaga and Kennesaw State, and they had that Graham E.K., who,
Kennesaw State had no chance of guarding, but Gonzaga went long stretches without giving
him the ball.
And like, you cannot play their style.
So for Kentucky, they've got to, like, play their style, get the ball, get to the
basket.
Don't just settle for jump, like, do the things that they're good at, and then I think
they will be okay.
Yeah.
You attack the basket, man.
You take advantage of your strength.
If you got strength inside on the defensive end, you know, you put your athleticism, you're
talking about.
They've not seen anything like that before.
So put a lot of pressure on the basketball.
Duke and Sienna was the same way.
Duke gets into a shooting contest with Sienna.
Next thing, you know, they're down 13, but in the second half, they just locked them
down defensive.
And what?
Did Sienna score 18 points or something in the second half?
That was it.
Some tiny amount, because Duke was like, all right, we may not be shooting where, but we're
going to make sure you don't score.
And that's what they did.
And Kentucky has to do some version of that.
If we play Santa Clara's game, then we give him a chance to win.
We have to play the way we play, and then we should be okay, as you saw in the A&M
St. Mary's game.
We saw teams do that to us.
They cannot be physical, push us around.
That's what we need to do the same way.
That's what we need to do now.

Great day of games yesterday.
It was.
Yesterday was why we love the NCA term.
You know, last year, very few upsets in the first round.
People kind of thought, all NIL, portal, does that mean that stuff's gone?
It was great.
You know, still the last top four seed to lose in the first round is Kentucky.
It was great.
You know, still the last top four seed to lose in the first round is Kentucky.
Did you know that?
No.
Yeah.
But nevertheless, it was a lot of fun yesterday.
Like that is what it's supposed to be.
Last night we all caught up to watch St. Louis and Georgia and your boy cream abdool jibbar.
Dude, cream was killing people.
It was killing it.
Let's go over the games real quick.
Cream.
I love seeing.
I feel like you're a proud pop-up.
You know, I say a lot that I gave him that nickname.
That's a little misleading.
Like I gave him the nickname.
I saw it.
Somebody like commented it.
And then I just go, that's a great name and I started calling him.
Ran with it.
So he gives me credit for it and Wikipedia does.
But I actually wasn't the technical person, but I was probably the person that made it famous.
But there was some, there's actually some listener here is probably the first one to have said it.
But it's taken off.
And you know, now they just keep adding to them.
Milk, Chamberlain, Larry nerd, Larry Blurred.
I saw Kevin McPale.
Yeah.
That was a good one.
Shaquille Oatmeal.
You know, we make, we kind of make fun of the guy and you look at it.
No, he's not make fun.
He's awesome.
But he's a good player.
The dude can play.
Shannon, like he is, and he's beat up.
Yeah.
Like he's got like bruises and he's got, he's like me.
Like I'll just get in the shower.
And I'm like, where did that bruise come from?
He looks so unathletic, but somehow he always makes big plays and big shots.
And he makes it, and he's a great passer.
Great passer.
So I mean, they, they killed George.
Ran him off the floor.
Killed him.
Like Georgia.
What, I mean, why George even come?
Yeah.
Like they, they got destroyed.
Then you had high point.
That's the moment of the tournament.
It is.
That's the moment of the tournament.
They come, they're down eight.
They come back.
They win.
Their student announcers screaming is the high.
I mean, that's the star.
Like, that's the best story so far.
That's the best story of the tournament so far.
Those student announcers.
Uh-huh.
You got the one guy who gives a great call.
And then the other one just looks like he's having a heart attack.
He doesn't.
Shannon, he doesn't say a word in the whole video.
I lost that though.
Yeah.
They're saying he doesn't say a word.
No, he just very animated in his reaction.
He's just like.
And the first guy is go, first guy makes a great call.
Actually.
We'll play that as the intro to the next segment.
Okay.
Okay.
Because that, that's amazing.
Then Sienna legitimately look like they could beat Duke.
Yeah.
That would have been the biggest upset in the history of the tournament.
Yeah, Duke's overall number one.
Yes.
Dominant team on here.
Virginia was the number one overall seed, but it's Duke.
Yeah.
Sienna beating Duke would have been the biggest upset.
I think in the history of the tournament.
And they let him most of the game.
Most of the game.
And then Duke came back.
Everyone.
Then you had what?
VCU.
VCU beats North Carolina.
Another game.
They were down 19 points in the first and the second half.
Yeah.
It's the largest NCA tournament come back in the second half ever.
Wow.
I was a fun game to watch also.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm going back to the high point game just one minute.
Talk about the dude who hit the game winning shot.
I mean, the.
Shouldn't have what has to be one of the most amazing stats in basketball history.
He had not made it to all year.
And he hits the game winning shot on a two baller, right?
I mean, talk about clutch.
Going into the game, he had 68 made threes and zero made twos.
How?
Zero.
And then he gets the layup.
And you could tell as he was shooting.
He was like, I've never done this before.
Is he going to do layup lines?
I don't.
I don't know how this play works.
The game winning shot to win the game is your first two all year in the NCA tournament.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
That's crazy.
But it's awesome.
Yeah.
Like it.
That is.
That is an awesome moment.
And of course, John Calipari now can go to the sweet 16 having beaten Hawaii and high point.
Oh, I didn't realize that.
Did they play next?
You got the same thing in the SEC tournament.
He did.
He got the exact same draw on the SEC tournament.
You don't have to play anybody.
He had to play what old miss and Oklahoma to go to the sweet 16.
He's doing something right.
He's living right.
I mean, part of it is you get a seed that allows that to happen.
But that's the thing about that four or five matchup.
It's the hardest second round game unless an upset is pulled.
And there's a decent chance of an upset.
Yeah.
So when you're four or five, you've got a chance of that happening.
Like it just happened right here.
And it happened for him.
So they play the Calipari and get the sweet 16 having beaten Hawaii and high point.
See what I did there.
What?
See what I did there.
See what I did there.
You all count of me out.
Dogs bark a park car.
You forgot the hammer that last nail in my car.
That's right.
From Little Rock to Jones, bro.
Yeah.
You know, they don't poop in the Ozarks.
What?
Like that's what he's going to do.
But that's all right.
You know, I guess they earn that.
What else did we see yesterday?
TCU, Tom Kreme.
Yeah.
Dude, don't bat against Tom Kreme.
He picked that for you.
With that said, bat against us.
I picked the KSR Parlay, Shannon.
Yeah.
Got every leg rough.
You know, because you want to get to the point spread.
You need to get to say I don't like the point spread.
It's hard to do the money line though in the in the first round because the spreads are to be.
Yeah.
But got it.
If you faded me and you bet against me in every spread, you would have won.
Are you having one again today then?
We're putting one out.
I think they should drive King should just put the opposite of what Matt says out.
The anti KSR.
It's really strange.
I'm worth.
I think there's something to knowing to there's not too much about it.
I know more about college basketball than he sport and it's the worst thing I game on.
I don't know anything about the NFL.
And I've won our pick contest eight straight years.
I don't know anything about it.
In college basketball, I feel like I know a lot.
And I, the ESPN Radio bracket pool.
My earn Metcalf is the college basketball reporter and he's in last.
I do think there's a part of this that you like.
There is.
You're in first place in our pool and I just don't know anything.
And I just went through and picked it like five minutes.
Well, I picked the part of the day then.
He's on the 96% top.
And he doesn't know anything.
You don't think about it too much.
Just pick on impulse.
Maybe that's the key.
Stayed in the Airbnb not even a holiday in.
I know.
So I do think the NCAA turned me.
I don't even know why I tried to pick these games.
So do you have your poly already today?
Yeah, I gave him one.
But I mean, I wouldn't bet it.
It's mine.
Yeah.
I might bet it if it was the exact opposite.
I got every game wrong last night.
I mean, games were on it.
Well, I mean, I actually made money yesterday betting because I bet on high point to win.
So you hit that poly early in the afternoon.
Yeah, I hit the early one.
But not every game wrong.
How can you get every game wrong?
That's a good skill.
Yeah.
So if we do that again, if I'm 0 for 8, that would be pretty impressive.
We'll take a break.
Be very back.
KSR.

That's the end.
That's the end.
Time out.
Time out.
Time out.
Time out.
Portland.
I don't believe it.
Cool.
I love it.
I love these dudes.
I love how excited they got.
I love that the one guy.
You don't hear the other guy's voice because he ain't talking.
And just an awesome set of excitement.
I've heard it a dozen times and still got chili bumps right there.
These are students, right?
They're students.
They're students at a high point.
That's very cool because they don't have regular radio broadcasts.
They're students doing it.
They're fantastic.
I wish you Katie.
I wish all colleges also had a student broadcasts.
Yes.
But they don't do it.

Virtually every text or mini-text or want to talk about Pope's comments.
So let's give it one minute.
I think Pope had reasonable things to say in some ways about the current media environment.
He also used it as just a chance to air grievances.
It was odd for me that he did it in that moment.
Yeah.
Because it was Yaxl.
The quote from Yaxl was from him.
It wasn't from some anonymous source.
He always brings up these AI images about like when his, what, the, the stories about his wife and all these things which.
That's just random people on the internet.
So I, here's what I take from it.
Less the specifics of.
It's just been a tough year I think for Mark in terms of communicating the way he wants to communicate with the media.
And with the public.
And we understand during the off season to see like, why did that happen?
And how can that get better?
Because it's very rarely a good idea to have that tension.
And I'm not really sure who Mark's mad at in some ways, you know.
And I wish that that weren't the case and hopefully that it will get better.
It was weird because it was Mark's story of the Harold asking me a question about the AP.
Like it wasn't random people on the internet and their underwear.
It was like the most, the biggest journalist in terms of journalism that there is.
At Kentucky.
It's been a weird year.
He's been wearing the bar and the media going back to what he talked about the Louisville game.
Been Michigan State.
Michigan State game.
There's been a lot of, it's just been odd.
It's just been an odd.
You know, again, it's not, it's not a huge deal, but it's just been odd.
And I hope, again, like if we have a good weekend here, a lot of that stuff goes away.
Yet you win these two games.
You win today.
And you win Sunday.
And a lot of these sort of secondary things that have been in the conversation.
They just kind of melt away.
You're right.
Right.
So that's why I hope it happens for him and I hope it happens for our fan base.
Because a lot of the stuff we worry about will no longer really matter.
If you just win.
If you just win.
Yeah.
Who was it?
Just win, baby.
Was that.
Who said just win, baby?
Parts sale.
Dicca.
Am I being billed part sales?
Who was it?
Shannon.
I don't know.
Coach just said just win.
NFL coach.
I think it was bill parcel.
Al Davis.
Al Davis.
Okay.
Yep, that's it.
Al Davis.
Another example, by the way, if the sun is always worse than the day.
Exactly.
So anyway.
Win today.
Yep.
Win Sunday.
And we won't be talking about it.
Now one thing is, I granted we're not far from Kentucky.
But we've seen almost no Kentucky fans.
No.
I saw a handful of them walking out of that practice yesterday.
Yep.
But other than that, none.
Do you think that gets better today?
I do.
Okay.
The time that it's Kentucky's been here, the crowd has always kind of flooded the town.
So maybe they came last night for the game today at noon.
Or maybe they're driving this morning because it's not very far.
Yeah.
But I was struck like at the practice.
There were more, I would say there were more Purdue fans than Kentucky fans at that practice yesterday.
Little odd.
Little odd.
But again, we're close.
So you don't have to make the right.
We'll see what it looks like here in a couple hours.
Who's next, Shannon?
Sam.
Sam.
Go ahead, Sam.
Hey guys, how's it going?
And I'm about 30 minutes outside of St. Louis.
So there you go.
This is an example.
So hopefully that's right.
Yeah.
I just wanted to talk about how some of our fans are a little doom and gloom.
And you guys kind of just mentioned this, but it's not.
I'll use your line.
It's not crazy that we can win two basketball games.
No.
It's not crazy that we can win three.
It's not crazy that we can win three.
I mean, you know, I think beating Michigan is asking a lot.
But it is not crazy to win three.
Go ahead.
Yeah.
I mean, seven C's, eight C's make runs every year.
We have a take away.
It's not like we have a bunch of bombs out there.
We've got good players with tournament experience that are old guys.
So, I mean, it's not crazy.
I'm not expecting us to go to the championship for anything.
But people are acting like the seasons over.
We've got all summer to complain.
Let's get excited and go win a few games.
I'm with you.
Yeah.
I'll be looking yesterday.
I appreciate the call.
Just win.
Texas place BYU.
Okay.
Those are two power conference schools.
An SEC versus a big 12.
Five C difference between Texas and BYU.
And Texas controlled the game in one.
Basically led the whole game.
Yeah.
SEC over a big 12 school.
There's a five C difference between, you know, Kentucky and I was state.
Texas A&M.
SEC school plays a West Coast conference school in St. Mary's.
Right.
Controlls the whole game and wins.
That's what we have to do today again.
That's what we have to say and declare.
When you have better dudes than the other dudes, you should win the basketball game.
Take advantage of your strengths.
Like you said.
I feel like we need three guys.
If I'll take it and Aberdeen show up when we think they are, who's the third guy?
Is it going to be Chandler?
Somebody's got to step up today.
Be that third guy.
What's your biggest worry?
Because I have one.
What's your biggest worry?
Well, we mentioned how their 3.0 percentage is similar to ours.
But they shoot like about twice as many as we do.
If they get hot and just start bothering them in from everywhere, then we get discombobulated
and try to do too much and play like we're...
You don't know what we're doing.
We have it time when we get behind like that.
That's my biggest worry.
My worry is you cannot fall behind by double digits in this game.
Because it will be harder for us to come back.
Because they have...
They shoot so many threes.
But if you get down 11, it's going to be hard because all they got to do is hit one
and it kind of makes it even...
This is a game I don't want to see us having to dig a hole.
Because that I think would make us then play a style that's what they want.
Where we're out there jacking threes.
We don't play that very well.
We don't really...
I mean, we rarely play that well.
So we cannot kind of continue our path of all of a sudden we're down 12 and the whole game
we're sitting there trying and we cut it to 6 and we're like, okay, and then they hear 3 and it's 9.
We can't do that.
We've got to be...
A&M yesterday was the example of Texas against BYU as an example.
They came out and they land early and they just kept that lead throughout the game.
I think we went in on the defensive end because of that.
Get that lead and then lock them up on the other end of the floor.
8-5-9-28-0-20-27.
Who's next?
Adam.
Adam, go ahead Adam.
I totally agree with you on filling out brackets.
Last year I had a pool of about 20 family members.
And me and my father are really the only ones who follow college basketball.
And it was, you know, my two youngest sons, 8 and 5 came in.
Okay, okay.
Adam, maybe you have to...
Yeah, I mean on the ESPN radio when Marin is in last and I am like in 8,000 of 15 and we're the only ones to watch it.
And the people that are winning are people who I know don't even watch the sport.
And you're like, well, what are you supposed to do?
You know?
Yeah, I'm listening.
Have you seen the movie The Hangover?
Yes.
There is a scene in there that Bradley Cooper looks at that gulf knockus.
Like, are you really wearing that?
As they're about to go out on the ground.
Like, are you really wearing that?
That's what I did with Ryan yesterday.
That's you and Ryan.
Yeah, I mean, I appreciate it's called.
You're being very sort of considerate in your comparisons if I get Bradley Cooper.
But I do think Zach Galfanakis in that movie has a little Ryan in him.
I thought I was winning me.
I was Bradley Cooper.
No, you don't.
I look like Bradley Cooper.
No, you do not.
You do not.
I'm Zach Galfanakis.
Yes.
Girl beard and it's you.
I will say though, when you don't pull the hood up, it does look quite as bad.
There was something about the hood and the tightness that combined to make that.

19 and halftime.
19 and halftime.

We may have accidentally said North Florida.
We place it North Oldham.
I had several people say we accidentally said.
Who's about we?
You mean you?
I don't think it was me.
No, I just said North York.
I didn't say Peer Oldham, please.
Yeah, I didn't think we mess it up.

Several people say we said it wrong.
But we place it for North London.

Yesterday, Shannon and I did our relationship podcast.
Shannon and I did our relationship podcast.
It is on the interrupted feed.
I would say to you, if we lose today
and you wanna cheer yourself up, listen to it.
If we win, do it a celebration.
Shannon and I answered 15 questions
from listeners about relationships.
And I think Shannon, we help people.
I think we saved the world yesterday with that podcast.
Helped everybody's relationship.
And I wanna pay you a compliment
for a show called Interrupted by Matt Jones.
You didn't interrupt me one time.
Wow.
Not one.
Somebody say, who would have thought
how far Shannon and Matt have come
since the first show that they're now doing shows together?
One relationship.
Only took us 15 years to get there.
Yeah, but we finally did a show together.
Just the two of us.
I enjoyed it.
I think that's a good niche for you and I.
Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
Really enjoyable.
Yeah.
What are you laughing at?
Can I sit over there and a couch?
Listen, you guys do this show.
Come on out to jump out of the chair
because I wanna, you guys are 24 years old.
They've never been married.
Yeah.
I've done it twice.
Yeah.
The major banner.
You need to listen to the podcast.
It sounds like you should be listening to us.
Yeah.
We have a combined zero divorces.
Yeah.
I mean, you got pal.
When it comes down to it,
you get to be the man of the house
whenever she tells you to do the laundry.
That's how life goes when you're married.
Do the laundry.
What are you talking about?
We didn't have any questions about laundry.
We had questions that were important.
Like about, you know, when you know you have the one
and whether or not you should stay in the sleep
in the same bed.
That's function.
And all kinds of good stuff.
All kinds of good stuff.
And we did sensitive topics.
Yeah.
In sensitive ways.
I, you know, the text machine is where people
have been writing me their feedback.
Yeah.
It's been amazingly positive.
And a lot of women liking it.
Hearing the man's perspective.
Uh-huh.
Yeah, listen, if you wanna do your own one,
good do it.
I don't know why.
I adore you.
Why would anyone listen to you?
You know, I can see a woman listening to a man's perspective,
but she's still the boss.
She's still.
See, it's lines like that.
Yeah.
No alpha.
He's, he's, he's beta.
Exactly.
He's gonna be beta.
He's gonna be some balance, Ryan.
He's gotta get some balance.
You gotta have a little out.
I mean, you know, I have a, I have a beta side.
You saw me on the ball.
Yeah, I was very beta.
But there's, there's an alpha side too.
Yeah.
You know, you gotta, you gotta mix and match.
That's right.
I did enjoy your conversation on libido.
Yeah, I mean, well, we've handled it sensibly.
It's a fair question that comes up in relation to you.
It does.
People, and someone asks, you know,
what if at a stage of your life,
you each have different libinos and Shannon and I,
that, that happens to people.
Oh, and then we have to speak.
And you have to, uh, and we fixed it.
Sure.
Who's up next?
John Short.
Oh, well, perfect.
Perfect.
Great.
John Short, go ahead.
Oh, you don't, you're ready, Americans.
Thank you very much.
Well, we're going today about 10 bigens.
I tried to get lost last night.
But we're going to be James Massimov
at 25 bigens and we're going to win in baseball tonight.
And that offense defense will be rare.
I mean, in the end of the election,
we need to lead the nation's offense and defense
and steals and assist.
That's right.
If you do all that, I think you've got a good chance to win.
Thank you, John.
The baseball team did lose last night to, uh, Ole Miss.
At Ole Miss, the three games that he started yesterday.
So he was a Thursday, Friday, Saturday series.
Yeah, hopefully we can get him back, uh, get him back today.
I want you to read, uh, Bob and James Down's text to you.
Because, you know, Miami, Ohio, once,
I was going to let him shine and, uh, call the show.
He's ready.
And he did.
No, that's okay.
He's here.
He's here.
We gave him the chance.
Here's what Bob and James Down do.
The short version of what he said to you yesterday.
So I was texting him yesterday.
He said, Matt was going to let you come and call in first
and talk.
Ryan, I was in a garage getting exhaust work done
on a street legal Chevy Copo Camaro drag car.
I crossed four rivers and two snowstorms
to pick it up in Omaha.
I want to hear more about it.
Okay, there's more.
Ryan, I'm ready for spring and it has sprung.
Whether it's absolutely gorgeous today.
Ready to put top down on that 700 horsepower
Copo Camaro convertible and let it fly.
Our local sheriff did the out of state vehicle inspection
personally on this bad boy.
Wow.
That's our boy.
That's great.
You don't want to talk about it?
It's getting.
No, it's game day.
It's game day.
And that is the chance to talk about maybe Ohio.
He's talking about his new Chevy.
Do you think they have any chance against Tennessee today?
Oh, that's today.
Yeah.
They shoot like they did the other night, man.
They can't beat anybody.
They were bombing them from everywhere.
Wouldn't the perfect day be we win?
And then they beat Tennessee.
Yes.
Maywell, Ohio Beach, Tennessee.
Which would open up the possibility of us playing them.
Yeah.
If we beat Iowa State, they'd be Virginia.
I mean, that's a long shot.
But like, you never know.
What'd you say?
Every year, a first four winner wins.
Well, I said every year, first four winner wins their next game.
But that's already happened.
Texas did it.
Okay.
You know, Texas did it.
I think, since the first four started, I think every year, but one.
One of those teams has won a first round game.
Yeah.
So that's one of the things I always look for.
I ended up, I picked Texas to win the game.
Yeah.
That's me.
Why you?
Because I thought that would be.
What do you think, Maywell, Ohio, is a shot today?
I mean, I have a shot.
But I would pick Tennessee.
Yeah.
But they have a shot.
Yeah.
Nate Aiman is back and looked good in the SEC tournament.
What do you think about the fact that UK Santa Clara is the most
bad game in the tournament so far?
I don't know if you know this or not, but a wise philosopher once said,
we don't just move the needle.
We are the needle.
But do you think that's become?
I mean, the spread is two and a half.
I mean, there's clearly a lot of people betting against us.
Probably a lot of them.
I mean, obviously a lot of them.
It went down to four and a half.
Yeah.
It started open to two and a half.
I thought open to three and a half.
And then it went to four and a half.
And now it's back to two and a half.
That's what I bet.
I bet it to an half.
Yeah.
I mean, there's a world where we do what A&M did to St. Mary's.
And we just win by like 14.
Because we're just bad.
We're just bad.
And then there's a world where we get behind and with three minutes to go,
the whole crowd's going to root against us.
I mean, everybody there that's not a Kentucky fan will be rooting against us.
We'll be rooting for Santa Clara, including all the Iowa State fans that are there.
And they'll be a bunch.
They play the second game.
They play the second game.
They'll be there.
There'll be a bunch of Iowa State fans there.
And they will be rooting against us.
Yes, for sure.
I mean, really curious to see how the crowd is.
Like I said, usually when Kentucky's been here at St. Louis,
you know, Kentucky fans kind of fill out those Western Kentucky Kentucky fans,
come over to St. Louis, not that far of a trip for them.
Yeah.
Well, KS Bar, you can come watch the game there.
I expect a big crowd and hopefully a happy crowd there.
We had good crowd yesterday, but this is different.
This is a, you know, we'll talk a little more about this in the last 30 minutes.
But this is a massive game for Mark.
It's a massive game for the fan base.
It's a massive game for Otega away who is ended up having one of the best two-year runs in UK basketball history.
You know, I think it's a massive game for some of these guys about whether or not they're going to come back.
I talked to somebody yesterday who I think really knows and says,
there's a lot of these guys that just don't know.
Yeah.
They said that like, I think it's a really good chance we have Chandler.
There's really good chance we have KM.
But for a lot of the rest of the guys, they don't know for real.
Like not just saying that, they really don't know.
They really don't know.
This could be huge in terms of determining that.
So there's a lot on the line today in one basketball game against the team we barely know.
8.592 8.0 2287.
We'll take a break.
Be right back.

I've had the privilege of working closely with Robert Kraft for a long time.
And one thing I've always respected is how seriously he takes up standing up to hate.
As a Jewish athlete, my identity is something I am proud of.
But I also know what it feels like to be singled out for it.
That's why this new commercial for the Blue Square Alliance against hate.
That aired during the big game really hit home.
It's about showing up for someone when they're targeted.
Even if you don't have the perfect words.
Sometimes standing next to someone is enough.
And you can show support by sharing the Blue Square.
