My name is Albert Gim and I'm joined as always by our PhD in the pick and roll in Long
Island style pizza.
We've got Corey, Talaba in the building and guys, it's Friday, right?
You're all ready for the weekend, excited for the weekend and in anticipation of a beautiful,
incredible weekend, we've got the conclusion of our mock draft for you today.
We've got picks 25 through 30 where like I said in our cold open, some of the best players
in this draft are going in these picks.
So we found some incredible value here for some of the teams that we picked for and we're
really excited.
And with that being said, we're not going to waste time.
We're going to jump right into it and Corey, we're going to pick 25 where, oh, this was
me actually.
Yeah.
I made a pick for the Los Angeles Lakers where I currently live, Los Angeles.
They decided to take, well, sorry, I chose for them.
Galen Swain out of the University of Texas, a dynamic attacking wing who this past season
for Texas, average 17.3 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, 3.6 assist per game, he's shooting
splits of 54.2% from the field, 34.4% from three and 81.5% from the free throw line.
This was a decision where as I was kind of going through all of my different options thinking
about what would be the perfect choice for this Los Angeles Lakers squad that has Luca
Donches, Austin Reeves, we don't really know what's going to happen with LeBron James.
And I guess, you know, in tandem with that, Bronny James maybe, an interesting squad and
also like you're wondering, in my brain, as I was thinking about this pick, I was thinking
they should probably take a center.
But I ended up looking at the board and going, Dale and Swain made it to pick 25.
And he's a guy that many people think might not make it to pick 25, but just to give you
a quick little thing on Dale and Swain before I throw it over to you, it's, he had an unbelievable
season after transferring over to Texas, a guy who saw the ball in his hands a ton the
season.
I really got to show off some of the wiggle that he has at the ball in his hands, that dynamic
ability to get downhill, to be flexible, dynamic, acrobatic in the air at times with
some of his finishes.
He's a guy who, on a Lakers team with Luca Donches and Austin Reeves, could be an option
to really be dynamic in early offense.
A guy you can throw the ball out to and kind of let him be creative and crazy and in transition,
semi-transition as well.
A guy who, you know, his shooting is the big question and you know, this is kind of like
a great opportunity for me to throw it over to you.
He shot the ball well off the dribble, right off the catch.
There are still, I believe, some real mechanical issues from what I've seen, but Corey, if
you can share with us some of your expertise and what you saw not only just from Dale and
Swain's game, but also specifically with his shooting.
Well, that last point is what I was going to bring up to you is that when you, like if
you told me, hey, you're going to get a six, eight wing who's got real wiggle, 58 effective
field goal, 64 true shooting who is going to be able to defend multiple positions, really
effective at the line.
I can live with the 34 percent, right, like that is not a good shooter, but it's not a
non-threat, but in looking at the fit with the Lakers and for, honestly, I just think
this is the value here, right, like this is just like we're going to grab value, position
on value, best player available value, potentially, like this is just, let's go grab the talent.
But as a fit, you know, you're going to have the ball in Lucas hands now, Austin's a free
agent.
So he will have options.
And obviously that's not a decision that the Lakers will necessarily 100% know about at
the time of the draft.
I think they should operate under the assumption that they bring Austin back.
Austin and Luke are going to have the ball in their hands, right?
So like a lot of the value this year and why Swain saw his stock rise was because he was
a guy who was effective, having the ball in his hands, you know, career high, 25% usage
previous two years, he was sub 20, freshman year, he was 12.9 usage, right?
So I wish that the, it was the inverse where his shooting off the catch was more consistent
than his shooting off the balance, right?
Maybe you're saying, hey, this is a guy who's been shooting 80 plus percent from the free
throw.
I mean, he's 81.3 is a freshman, 81.7 as a sophomore, 81 and a half as a June, so a clean 81
and a half percent on his career on a good number of attempts.
He's, he shot it well this year up to about, we'll teach him how to shoot it off the catch.
We'll get that worked out.
We're an NBA franchise.
We're the freaking Lakers.
We'll figure that out.
Once that happens.
Now you're looking at a guy who's really dangerous.
You have to close out on him.
He's going to be able to attack that, make use of his finishing and some of his playmaking
and that is really interesting.
So I think especially here, you just go, hey, man, we're going to teach him how to shoot
off the, off the catch.
He's got a lot of the other stuff that we value.
He's going to be big.
We think he could be a playoff contributor.
We already have the two guys that are going to carry the usage on the perimeter and their
both, you know, threats from the outside.
This is an easy decision and I agree.
I think this is a great pick.
Yeah, just to your point once again, just the fact that he's on the board at this point,
the Lakers go, you know what?
We'll figure out the shooting.
That's our job, you know, developmentally to get him there, but to get a wing with his
ability on the ball.
And also, we can even talk about his defensive ability to the first ability he brings and
two way player.
Yeah, a real two way player, a guy who's going to really get after it on the defensive end
of the ball.
You had a guy like that and if you believe that he's going to project to become a decent
shooter, then he's kind of a great fit, right?
With Luke and Austin, you know, in the future, not from day one, unless it's a, you know,
it's a Yegor Djoman type of thing where you're one, he's suddenly a shooter, which, you
know what?
I don't want to pass anybody, right?
Anything's possible.
A lot of things happen in the summer when they get in the lab.
So we shall see.
But with that being said, that's a pick for the Lakers and at 26, you made the pick for
the Denver Nuggets.
Yeah.
I was ecstatic to have Bennett starts on the board here.
Yep.
I double checked.
I wanted to make sure that I wasn't reading the, the list wrong.
Like to me, this is another one of those like, hey, we're grabbing incredible value here.
I mean, you said it in the cold open, like all the picks in this range, I feel so good
about.
And Bennett starts like in that Nuggets offense where, you know, we saw him carry such a heavy
usage load and he won't have to do that in Denver, right?
Right.
But imagine this dude shooting all those open jumpers that Yokech and Jamal Murray, Aaron
Gordon are going to create whilst also being able to make smart, quick decisions.
And then when the ball does come to him, be able to not just be a threat as a shooter,
but be able to attack second sides, get down hill, play at a pick and roll.
And at the value here at the end of the first round, which ultimately a guy, you know,
likes dirt who doesn't have incredible size and is older, only has one year at the high
major level.
You know, this seems like it might end up being his range, you know, look, all it takes
is one team, but you know, you look at historically, this is where the older players go, you know,
I think Baylor Shireman went in this range, he's starting to come around and I think that
this is what you expect, you expect a guy who, yes, he's a little bit older, but maybe
we can actually rely on him to play real rotation minutes a little bit quicker and not just
like, oh, those were cool flashes in this 25 minutes, but actually valuable minutes that
don't, you know, sink and tank your offense, well, they're on the court.
So yeah, I think having another really smart guy inserts on this veteran team, providing
more guard depth, I think is awesome for Sturrets.
I think he lands in a great situation here.
Yeah.
Absolutely, something we've said multiple times and other people from no ceilings have said
as well is that we all kind of believe that Sturrets is actually better suited to the NBA with
better spacing and also like, he's not going to be a guy that you draft to put the ball in his hands
and tell him go lead our offense with that in mind, because he's got that versatility
both on ball and off ball, I don't think he could end up in a better spot than to end up
with Denver, something I was thinking about while, you know, preparing for the pod and looking
at the pick that you made, this pick, him going to the Denver Nuggets, it could violently
change the trajectory of his career to play with yokich to learn from Murray.
This could be a ridiculous fit, incredible value for the Denver Nuggets and he, this might
be like literally the perfect spot for him to reach his ultimate, ultimate outcome and
the best version of his pro career could be by ending up on this team.
So just thinking about that and, you know, not having the burden that he had at Iowa and
the fact that he shot the absolute cover off the ball there and also was making all their
decisions and being relied upon to make shot at the end of the shot clock, like so much
of that will not be there anymore and he'll be able to play with a different level of freedom
that he didn't have and that alone makes it really, really enticing.
He's probably, quickly, he's probably like, there's a world in which like halfway through
his rookie year, he's like the starting point guard. Like the Nuggets don't really have true,
like it's, you know, obviously a yokich is the point guard, you know, as far as like running
the system, but like outside of Jamal Murray, like you look at, you know, Bruce Brown,
was like a wing who's guard sized. Christian Brown. Yeah, who's again, he's a wing.
It's like you're looking at, you know, a rookie Curtis Jones, KJ Simpson, Jalen Pickett,
like, they don't really have a guy like Sturts and I think he could add a lot to their team.
And an interesting scenario is with yours, if Sturts is starting next to Murray,
but then you have, like obviously there are some defensive questions there, but then if you
have Peyton Watson, Aaron Gordon on the floor with them, right, that'll mask some of that
and make things really exciting for them in transition. If you think about it with, you know,
yokich pushing the ball up and then they just go running with them. I love that group.
I think that'd be really, really exciting. I love that pick. It's perfect. Those first two picks
at 2526 are unbelievable value. We got really lucky here. And we have more and we've got more
picks to make at pick 27 and 28 and we'll get into those picks right after the break.

as we mentioned, the NBA playoffs. And when we're talking about the NBA playoffs,
we're inching towards the finals. And for the Denver nuggets, they're odds to win the NBA title is
currently at plus 1,000. I'm looking at the nuggets they've got Aaron Gordon back. Cam Johnson
healthy right at the right time. Peyton Watson missed the last five games of the season. But if he's
back in healthy, this team might be clicking right at the right moment. They won the last 12 games
of the season. The most important time of the year is the end of the year. And if you have

Check the show notes for the link. All right, guys, we are back. And here we go. We're
doing pick 27. And I made this pick for the Boston Celtics. Pick 27. I have them taking
man, I'm going to struggle with this one. Motius Crevas. Yes. All right. Crevas.
From Lithuania, Corey. So yes, he's, you know, let's rock. Let's go out of the University of
Arizona, a center that I just felt like for the Boston Celtics, Nimiish Keita had an incredible
credible season for them, a guy who was kind of their third string center the last couple of years.
He came in and he's been wonderful for them and has given them a lot of solomans. But when I think
about this team and I think about next season, they might want to add some depth, maybe add a guy
behind him who adds a little bit more size. And with Crevas, he's seven, two. He's huge. He's
giant. And he had a great season for the Arizona Wildcats. When I think about Crevas, he's kind of
an old school center, a guy who is really tall, isn't like the most fluid, amazing athlete. But he
can score the ball for you down low. He can, you know, post up. He's got soft touch around the
rim. A guy who's going to protect the rim as well defensively schematically. He's, you know,
heavy drop type of guy. But that's okay. You work around that. You can figure that out. And he's a
guy who it does a really good job of, you know, protecting that rim, grabbing rebounds. And a fun
little wrinkle for him is, as I mentioned, he's great around the rim. But also good from the
free throw line, 78% from the free throw line this season, 77% overall for his career from the
free throw striped. So, you know, he's a guy who is, once again, an old school type of big going
to set good screens, good hard screens. And, you know, even with his scoring stuff, there's not
going to be a lot to get excited about. But I even thought in that final four game against Michigan,
he had a couple of possessions where he really went out Mara and was able to use his strength to
kind of bully him a little bit and get good looks at the rim. So I just thought for the Celtics,
you know, getting a guy with his foundation of skills at his size, being a legit seven foot
two, I thought that would be an interesting pick and just add to their front line with everything
else that they got. Yeah, I actually think that if a team is going to let him develop his outside
shot, like he didn't shoot a ton of threes, like barely shot any, you know, over his three-year
career. Well, he didn't play much. He played eight games this sophomore year because he got hurt,
but he only shot 13 threes this year. But he's a career 77% free throw shooter. Yep.
And he did shoot some threes, you know, in that fever tournament for Lithuania a couple of years
ago, like I think his form is pretty clean. But again, this is another monster value pick. He's
higher on my personal board. And, you know, the Celtics, they just find a way to take these guys
who are like productive in college. And whether they're contributors early or, you know, over the
slowly, or they're going out and finding these guys, whether it's the draft free agency, whatever,
like right now, you know, like Keta was great. Like even Luca Garza, right, is had his best season
with Boston this year. You know, Vuchavitch is older and, you know, I mean, he's going to fill up
the box score when he plays. But, you know, I think he's on the down side of his career, right,
he's playing about 20 minutes per game for Boston. We'll see how that ticks up or what in the playoffs.
But yeah, really, I mean, incredible value pick. You know, you can argue that, you know, he's going
to, there's a chance he ends up as like the starting center within a few years. I mean, who knows
what the Keta price is going to be when his contract comes up because he was phenomenal this year.
So yeah, this is a great depth pick, but also like in the future, like really pay off.
Yeah, yeah. My biggest thing is to your point, the Celtics have been great about bringing
in guys who've been good in college, whether Peyton Pritchard, the other Shireman, Jordan Walsh,
like they get these guys who, you know, whether they need some time or not, eventually find their
way into the rotation and all those guys have been huge for the Celtics this season. So getting
I like crevice to your point who, you know, from day one could be your backup center and then
eventually could be your center starting center is really interesting. So yeah, with the 28 pick,
Corey, you picked for the Timberwolves. I did. I took Zubie Ejrefour,
one because I'm a homer for St. John's. But two, I think Zubie's really good. And he's one of those
guys, we're just like, you know, like, all right, he's a little older, like, should I just,
you know, have him lower just he's old and he just gets to a point. It's like, you know what,
like I've seen him a number of times over the years, like in person, he improved like as a passer,
substantially this year, like he's shooting like threes at times. Defensively, he's so versatile,
like he he's tough. He's physical. What he could do and add to like your roster as an energy guy
early on. I mean, look, baron jay, go bear, incredible centers, I think Zubie can actually play
before and play with them. And you know, obviously, you know, Julius Randall's there,
and Jayden McDaniel's and there's guys that are going to be in the way, whatever, this is a great
team, great teams drafting typically have depth. I he doesn't have to play immediately. But
I think that he's a guy that's going to be able to fill some minutes, you know, let him develop
in the G league, bounce up and down and and just get a guy who like, imagine him and Jaylen Clark
on the floor together. Not jobs, right? Like I just think he could and turn Shannon like, you know,
you got all these athletes and like, just build that depth at another valuable piece.
I'm not going to be shocked if Zubie returns like lottery value when we look back in in re-drafts.
I I just believe in his game translating, you know, like there's some work. He's not perfect.
But he gets to the line of time again, is passing his ability to protect the rim and guard the
perimeter. I just his is intangibles give me give me the Zubie edge of four stock. Yeah, if you're
drafting at the end of the first round and as you mentioned, you're drafting for a good team
like the timber wheels who have good players up and down their roster, adding a guy who bring
the ton of versatility and toughness and that kind of crazy attitude is a great option to have
and would be a great pick for them. So love that pick for the timber wheels. All right,
when we're back from the break, we have picks 29 and 30. So we'll jump into them right after this.

All right guys, we are back and we are wrapping up the first round here with picks 29 and 30 for
the Cavs here, the Cleveland Cavaliers. I took Terrace Reed Jr. 610 Big Man for the university of
Connecticut, formerly a Michigan before that. He had a great season this year, averaging 14.7 points,
9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, just a rock, rock solid season. And I think this year with the Cavs,
they decided to move on from Darius Garland, you know, and if things don't go well, we don't,
we will see, right, the playoffs haven't played out yet. But let's say they end up not winning the
title this year. Maybe it's the first round, second round, flame out for them once again. They might
want to do something with the bigs that they've got, whether it's Evan Mobley or Jared Allen.
Also they traded DeAndre Hunter this year too. So a lot of stuff going on with this team and then
kind of tinkering with things, but if things don't work out again, maybe they move off from one of
their bigs. And if that were to happen, Reed could become a really interesting choice as a backup
option for them because he's kind of a different type of big from what they have right now.
And that Reed is a true bruiser. He's a guy who can get into the post. He's got real back to the
basket ability. In the season, he's really started to flash some of the passing ability that he has.
We talked about him recently and some of the unbelievable passes he was, you know, showing off
during the tournament, but maybe if they move on from out Jared Allen or Evan Mobley,
I wonder, I don't, I don't feel like they would move off of Mobley, but who knows,
bringing in a guy like Reed to offer something a little bit different to be a curve ball to what
they have already. I think offers him a little bit more versatility in their big man room
that I think is interesting. So that's why I went with Reed here for the cast.
I love it. Been a big terrorist read fan since high school. Then, you know, over the last
few years at Yukon to see his game progress and grow and really turn into an offensive hub for
Yukon this year. He's playmaking like, I mean, yes, the percentages went up and the raw numbers
went up, but like just watching some of the windows, he was able to, you know, fit balls through
and like in high leverage situations, he's an absolute tank. I think he's going to measure insane,
like, I think he's going to have a 7-4 wing span, 7-5 wing span at, you know, 260,
just built for the physicality, you know, not a guy who's going to shoot it, you know,
I mentioned Kreevus earlier, like, oh, maybe he could shoot it. Like, I don't know if
terrorists are going to shoot it. If that happened, that's free money because like, you know,
he hadn't really attempted or shown any indicators of that, but I just think, smart dude,
like you, the tournament he had, which is a small sample, but like, he was extraordinary,
and I think he just willed that Yukon team to the position that they were in because, like,
I don't have said it, like, I didn't think this was one of Yukon's most talented teams at a
combination of terrorists and Dan Hurley being a genius and that coaching staff, like, is really,
I think, what put it over the edge. So, I mean, as a depth piece with those guys, like, I mean,
that's, it could be monster stuff. Absolutely. Totally agree with that. And once again,
another great value pick, a guy who looks like he's probably going to go in the first round and
might go even higher than this. So a really fun one. And with that, we've got one more pick in
the first round, pick 30. Corey, you picked for the maps. Talk to us about who you took here.
So I took christenic junior from Houston. To me, this pick is about upside. It's about
a good fit. It's about putting another piece around Cooper flag that I believe in,
in the value here is, is crazy, I think. The earlier in this mock, Nathan took LeBaron
Phylon at pick nine for the Maverick. So they're going to walk away with LeBaron Phylon and
christenic junior. And I think it's really interesting. You know, and, you know, Senic, I think to me,
he's more of a power forward than a center, honestly. I think, you know, his gain with stretching
the floor, he prefers the, you know, the mid-range and the three versus, you know, kind of working
on the block. You know, I do want to see him more as a play finisher and using his athleticism,
but defensively, you know, he's not somebody who's necessarily protecting the rim. He hasn't shown
that whether it's high school, college, like, that's not his strength, but I think he's really good
at sitting in his stands and using his, his, you know, physical tools to guard on the perimeter and
make things difficult. So in that case, I think he could play next to a lively or a gaffered or a
Marvin Bagley who are guys who play more close to the rim. And now you have guys who have a ton of
size. And Senic was an incredible rebounder this year. So you got like flag and, you know, Bagley
lively gaffered rebounding in the front court next to Senic, like, I mean, that is you can control
the glass on both sides of the ball for real. And also, like, obviously, I think part of the
appeals at Senic can be able to play some center, you know, he's not going to be an anchor in my opinion,
but look, Marvin Bagley played really well for Dallas, you know, maybe shifted the opinion of who he
is as an NBA player, I think. Derek Lively's played 43 games in the last two years. He played 55
as a rookie. When he's on the court, he is so impactful. But per 75 numbers don't translate
in games you don't play. So there's a little insurance there. You know, it feels like gaffereds
always, you know, in some kind of trade rumor, right? So I just think that like he provides death,
he provides upside, he provides complimentary skills too. So that was where my mind went here.
It's a great pick. Ultimately, you're looking for guys to fit in with a Cooper flag. You're building
around Cooper. And in this draft, who did we take earlier with the, with the Mavs pick? So they get
Phylon. Yes. Yeah. So you get Phylon and Sinek and adding those guys around Cooper flag makes a
lot of sense, right? With Phylon, you kind of get to put the ball in his hands a little bit and take
some of the, you know, play making burden off a flag. And then with Sinek, he can play with Cooper.
And you have a really fun front line with Sinek shooting ability and also his rebounding. A lot
to like, a lot to, I really like that pick. And especially he came into the season as like a five-star
guy, right? If I'm not wrong. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So getting a five-star guy here with the last pick
in the first round, good value, good value. And he had a solid season for Houston. Showed a lot of
growth, you know, was coached hard by coach Samson and that staff. So I think a lot to like,
I think a lot to like any, for sure, any parting words query before we wrap up here.
Another fun mock draft. I mean, I love these mock drafts. You know, it's that time of the year.
I'm really excited for when we actually have the lottery order. And now, at least we know
the Portland Trailblazers have made the playoffs and the Chicago Bulls have two picks. So
with a new front office, color me, cautiously, optimistic, excited, you know, I'm not ready to
to step back in full force into the toxic relationship that you would have as with the fandom.
Luckily, the Johnny's have, you know, kind of turned things around and caught a lot of my attention
in my free time. But yeah, excited about that. If the Johnny's can turn things around,
the Bulls can turn things around. You would think. Yeah. The Johnny's might have deeper pockets.
Yeah. Very real. But, um, guys, we really appreciate you locking in with us this week.
Thanks for joining us for the mock. We have obviously more incredible stuff for you guys next weekend
beyond. So keep rocking with us. My name's Albert. He's Corey. Talk to you guys soon.
The winner games are officially here. And if you're anything like us,
you're locking in for events. You only get to see on the biggest stage every four years.
And that's why following the winner games on Fandall just makes sense from middle counts to
individual events to finding your angle on the sports you care about most. Fandall gives you
more ways to say connected to the action. The drama of curling matches that start slow and
somehow getting tense fast hockey games that feel different right from opening face off.
The winner games are on and there's no better way to follow them than with Fandall. Fandall, play your
game. How do you cash back with Chase Freedom Unlimited? Plights, book, bags, packed, kids packed.
