We are in the Cadillac studio in an Escalade IQ. It's going to say doing TV, but doing... Harding. Doing internet. Doing internet shows. Doing internet shows. Mind you, we're not driving, but I just realized I did put my seatbelt on. Oh, you did? I did. We're not moving. Because we're not moving. So just to be clear for all you carons that are going to be like, where do you seatbelt? No, like you can see the lights, they're not moving. We're just in front of our hotel. I mean, I just, it's instinct. Safety first. You have, I mean, you guys both have them on? Yeah. Should you put your re-put your own?
No. Please. Come on. No. Come on. No. Because this car not only does an AKG sound system, reference audio sound system with Dolby Abbas, it has the top of the line safety features, including... I want you one. Top of the line safety features with the seat belts. All right. Thank you for doing that. That's great. All right. Let's get into some tennis. I mean, I guess the top story, I mean, I think it's a top story. It's weird to talk about like a, a doubles match as the top story of the day in a first round of a slam. So I'm going to kind of defer a little bit. Because I finished, I didn't go home. I didn't go to sleep till four and I was up. I we did red zone at noon. You've been on it. My turnaround was like six hours all in. It wasn't, it wasn't great. I wanted to stay up, watch Venus and Serena. Ben Shelton just won the first set. So that's where we're at as far as timing. It's 11.45 at night. So we want to have as much tennis as possible.
We are not going to stay up for the end of the bend match. No, I don't think I'll physically can. Shapo was up a break. Two different times in the first set and Ben snuck it out. So I got to think he feels okay about that. You all stayed for the Venus Serena match. I was watching it on... It was awesome. I was watching it on the ESPN app and then when I got home, I was watching it. From here, it seemed like the place was going... B-A-N-N-S. You could just feel this like, poppable, like singular heartbeat to like, try and will these incredible, like, iconic athletes to win. And my brother's been up here visiting and I like, looked at him at one point, I'm like, bro, like, they're the same ages we are. And like, they're down there playing like a 21-year-old. Yeah. And they're turning this place into this like, I can't even describe. I can't even describe it. I thought they were going to be willed to win in that third set, tie break.
And ultimately, you know, it just, it didn't go their way. But I'm in all of their skill set and I'm extremely like honored. I got to see it. So there's a couple things. I think Venus was the best player on the court tonight. No offensive champ, but Venus was dominant, holding serve, attacking returns. I thought she was fantastic. I don't know where she's at as far as thought process with how close she is with her career. Singles is rough, she's lost 15 in a row, so sidebar whatever, whatever makes you happy and whatever. People are going to give you the wild cards, take them, you know. I understand if tournaments don't, you know, if you lose 15 in a row, I certainly think it's, you can defend the tournament, not getting them to her for sure. I'm not going to blame her for whatever she wants to do, you know, party on. She's a good doubles player still made the court of C with Lila Fernandez last year. I thought she played great tonight. She hit the ball great. Nobody moves better at 46 than they do at 22.
So the ESPN set. So if she can hide her movement, her ball striking skills are fantastic. Yeah. I thought Serena, like weirdly, was like a little nervous. It's almost like I think she wanted to win for Venus. Yeah. But it was, it was so fun for me to watch. I mean, I have, I always have mixed emotions watching them because I try to like, kind of keep it a little bit even keel, but I'm just so known since we were kids. And I'm so happy, proud, amazed. It will never be real to me what they have become. You know, from the girls at Macy's tennis academy, you know, with the beads and the braces and, you know, the story and the controversy about not playing junior tennis. And we were all over it. And I remember being at the academy the first time Venus played a pro tournament. And she want to set off of Sanchez Vicario. And we're like, are you kidding me? She's that good. I think I think Aroncha was two in the world. Maybe if I'm wrong, it's not. It's by one spot either way.
But it was like, we felt part of it because we were the kids that were like summer camp. And, you know, it was just, so I'm, you tell you back, you tell me back then that they have seven, seven grand slams, 23 grand slam singles titles. And I also said on the desk that I take singles away, take it away. 14 major doubles titles, 14 and an L and major finals, three gold medals. It's crazy. Their hall of fame, like GG Fernandez is a phenomenal doubles player. She's in the hall of fame and deservedly so. She's in there for doubles. She won 14 majors and she's part of one of the best teams of all time with Natasha's Verba. You know, Schreiver, Martina. They played a lot more. They won more. So like they're, but they're just on the short list of greatest teams of all time. And that's without singles. Like, if they only put their double stats in, there's precedent for them getting in on a resume just for doubles.
I mean, at this point, over 40 years old, both of them all, you know, closer to 50 for Venus. And they played, I think you said the number 14 doubles team. Yeah, I mean, in the world, and they took them to the ropes. Like, they should have won. I mean, they should have won. So there's, there's a couple of things. Your Venus played great. You know, Chen was good. Venus was maybe the best player on the court. So, Serena did an interview with Malika Andrews. And we've been playing clips and it was on Good Morning America the other day. And she just asked her, you know, you know, you play singles again in a major. And she said, yeah, I want to. I'm going to. Oh my gosh. I think she's going to use this as like a springboard to really get like, maybe this was a stress test. Can I still play as it's still there? I think the answer is yes. I don't know that it, you know, tonight would ditch her her in any way. Yeah. The movement looks good. I still think she has more in the surf. You know, legs and shoulder and everything else. I fight a dollar.
I have a dollar. I have a dollar. Yeah, you have a dollar. I bet you a dollar. That she plays Australia. Wow. So, so the odds of Maya joint becoming a jeopardy question of being the last person to beat Serena Williams in singles and doubles. Is slim in your opinion. I don't know because it's a certainty that they'll play on Australia. Yeah. Just based on Wimbledon and the US Open, they will play. They will get drawn against each other because apparently that's what happens. Like every tournament. I mean, you think Serena and Venus will take the court again to get over it. I don't know. But you definitely think Serena will try singles if she feels good enough coming out of this. I have no idea what Venus is going to do. She is not thirsty. She doesn't do a ton of it. She just kind of loves the game. Serena, I mean, the only reason I have an opinion on is because she said it. Yeah. Very clearly to a very pointed and clear question. So, it was great. The atmosphere was insane. We might never have a night session that finishes early.
Ben Scheldon just went up a set in a break. So, he looks like he is cruising right along. But it was great to see. I loved it. I had fun. I think you hate to choose favorites, but I wish they would have won. No offense. They played great. Not a musy situation to be thrown into. I thought they handled themselves really well and played well. And they deserved the win. But I thought it was fantastic. Thanks for listening to Served. We will be right back. As tennis fans, we hear so much about the toll. The slams take on players. But we rarely dig in on the core thing that keeps players rested. Sleep and recovery. When I was on tour, recovery had a different meaning. Now, technology enables coaches and players to track their fitness in an entirely new way. And 8-Sleep is revolutionizing how athletes manage their rest. 8-Sleep's pod is a smart mattress cover that tracks an adjust your sleep temperature to keep you cool and promote up to 34% more deep sleep.
That's the difference between waking up foggy and waking up actually rested before your next match. The pod's autopilot technology is built on over 1 billion hours of sleep data. And does the work for you? Learning your sleep patterns to adjust temperature, elevation, and wake up time automatically based on your body's real-time signals. My sleep score has consistently been in the 90s this week. And it helps to know my sleep temperature is regulated even while I'm on the road. Whether you're on tour, gearing up for your club championship, or preparing for a big day at work, now's the time to change the way you manage recovery. Head to 8-Sleep.com slash served, and use the code served for up to $350 off the pod. That's 8-Sleep.com slash served, code served for up to $350 off the pod. Alright, back to the show. Haggula loses the first set to Leyla Fernandez, 6-1, battles back, wins 6-4, and then in the third set gets through, Kellyn Skye, I just upset Svitalina.
So bring on the redraw show for this guy. Sableenko rolls again, beats Rockamobile 4-3, it's just kind of comfortably been moving along quietly. I did Red Zone with U-Banks today. It was great. I loved it. I had so much fun. For those of you who don't know what Red Zone is, sorry, I'll go with it. It's basically two hours straight of just cruising over. We had a wall of 12 quarts going, and you just go to the important point, break point, you know, set point, whatever it may be, and two hours flies by, because you're just match to match to match to match to match. Chris is a professional. Yeah, Chris U-Banks is a pro, man. He's learning, he's thirsty, and he's already becoming a great broadcaster. Today, he didn't play like the analyst role. He played in-out of commercial breaks, producer and his year the whole time, and did an amazing job.
He was great, but the only reason I say that is because Sableenko came by, and it was great. I think he had so much time for her in-press, and I know she got upset at a journalist the other day. Well, not this, not these people. Not this time. Like, if you ask her a question where she can actually give a good answer, not start on defense, she's going to give you everything. Yeah. She will absolutely give you everything. And then, it's a weird thing, because we're having to do this interview, but like, Pagula is serving the match out, and we're doing Red Zone, and we're going to be covering the screens also, and what you're watching. And so I was like, okay, well, okay, Jess lost the first set. She came back in one. I'm sure in your path, the four grand sem titles, you've started slowly, and then kind of gotten ahead of steam, talked us through that. You know, she could either go with Jess or go with the grand slam part. She leaned right into, like, analyzing... Jess. She picked off and predicted, like, four serves in a row.
It was absurd. Yeah, she's like, tea, body. She's like, I want... Yeah. She'd be like, answer your questions, she'll go out wide, and just call it. Tennis players know, dude. Like... Like, it's just... It's execution, right? It's almost like it's not about fooling someone, it's just, can you actually keep better? No, it's setting the table. It's fooling someone sometimes. Yeah. It's like telling a story, you know, with your serves, and setting up certain serves, and it's so much more calculated, and I think the general public gives tennis credit for it. But I mean, she just sat down, nonchalantly, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, and walked off. Great. Amazing. Amazing. Emma Navarro got a big win today. It was fantastic. Very win. I know she's dealt with some health issues this year. It's really nice to see her back. I think everyone really likes her, respects her. She's playing great. It's not just a good story. She's playing good tennis, and I think everyone is very, very excited for her. Her top 10 win this year. Yeah. She's great. I mean, it was really good, and she got caught up in that kind of randelae mess, where she had
it played back-to-back days, and it's been a pretty hectic weekend. She's handled it well. Cost a rolled, Alexandra Oba. She looks great. She is in this thing. She just looks like a top five player all the time now. This is a crazy thing. She's either won the title or lost to the eventual winner of the tournament this year, and every tournament she's entered. No. That's what it says. Every tournament? Every tournament. Yeah. She's great. She's such a good athlete, man. She can hold us. She is very, very, very proud. So athletic. Taylor Townsend takes out Diana Schneider Townsend. I'm like, she's amazing. Tate. I'm a huge fan. Tate. Tate all day day. All day. All day. She's fun to watch. She's creative. She manipulates the ball. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She's a great player. She manipulates the ball. She manipulates the ball. She manipulates the ball. She manipulates the ball. Fantastic. She won. She won her match. She won her match.
She had two seat belts on her dressed. You see that? You see that? You see that? If you don't know what I'm talking about, Google it. You're going to laugh your ass off. I just saw her do her Superman stuff. I just saw her do her Superman stuff. She wore a seat belt. It was, and it worked. Like I'm like, yeah, someone would ask me at the beach. If someone asked me this morning, be like, hey, could you wear a dress of the US Open? One went a match and two have some seat belts on it and they'll have it look cool. I'm like, oh, absolutely not. Maybe she was ready for the cat, I was like, escalating IQ. Tate, I'll dead day. She can wear a seat belt in our car. She doesn't need to. She can wear a seat belt in our car. She's a neat dude. Great win for her, Noscow or Rolls. Kristaya still can't retire. I mean, she can't retire. It's the mojo right now. She keeps winning. Alcaraz gets through. Woo. You see right there? Woo.
Woo. TP beats Bublick in five sets. That was a fun match. Turn that one upside down. Lost to him in five sets in a night match last year. And get your popcorn ready. Popcorn memes. Here you go. The Chuckster versus Tommy Paul. Book it. I don't know. I mean, if I had to predict, I don't know. It seems like a good one for that ABC window on Sunday. You know, just right there. He's beating him twice. I don't know. Tommy Paul has beaten him twice, both in Canada at a Masters 1000 faux rule, Vachero runs. Besties look so far. Kind of survived that, that damn match, not that damn match, but that damn. Yeah, damn, damn. Yeah, not that damn match. That damn player, that, not that damn player, the player named him. Yeah, should we keep doing it? No, good. I went one too far. When you overexpited, Joe, it loses the deal. Besties look so far. Sit to pause.
Be the first out of the day. Oh, go ahead. He is. Nine is the number. And nine and a Tiappos. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I know this. Yeah. I know this. You do. Match wins on Louis Armstrong. Yeah, nine and a half. Undefeated. Match wins. It's our service now, now, it's out of the day. Undefeated. Man, he's gonna win the tournament. He's like, can I just stay out here until you do it? Do you want to know the answer to that? They're just saying they know. The answer's no. They're just saying they know. The first final on Louis. Another pop-up. The first final on Louis. Fow and Medi. Prediction special. Ooh, okay. Sunday night. After the ABC block, I bet that's Sunday night match. I liked that. Mikkelsen, can we give some credit here? Good. Can we give some chatter? I mean, I'm enjoying this. Alex Mikkelsen's playing great. He's playing great, and he's gonna be another, I mean, he is fantastic. I believe in his game. When he hits the forehand well, I think he's a top 20 player in the world. He's serving great. He's returning great. The backhand is like Purina. It's fantastic. Ben is rolling right now.
Sitsaboss, I cut you off when you're gonna talk about it. Oh, Sitsaboss. I mean, Sitsaboss is playing great. He's playing great. What was his tweet, Sean? I was a, I like it. He was a banger. It was like, New York City is such a great city. In fact, I've booked a second week here. All right. Was it sponsored? No, it wasn't sponsored. Should have been sponsored. It was a great spot. Fire hotel sponsored. Fire hotel, but first Greek player, man or woman, to reach the second week of all slams. Oh, of all forever. Yeah, it's what says here. I'd like to, my first question is like, Sokri hasn't made the second week of all first day. I guess not. That's what it says. There's no way the internet lied to you. So that's, yeah, that's, well, I know a human wrote this to me. Oh, that's nice. One that works for us, but I don't know. They found it. Oh, well, it could be anywhere. It could be great. It could be great. Yeah. It's a little different than ESPN. We could have just totally fucked that up. And it's okay. Oh, you missed you guys. I missed this. It's not okay. I missed this. I feel myself on red zone just wanted to wing stuff. Yeah, I'm like, yeah, I mean, it is the,
yeah, nope, I could go with it. It's right. Okay, great. That is, that's great. It's fantastic. It's been a set to one serving. He's got to have to a couple slow starts. He's going to need to fix that a little bit, but looks good. I mean, they're going to be a late one. I don't know that they're going to be a ton of long rallies here with Shapo. They seem to be getting through their service games, even though they got broken. It's like the pace of play is pretty, pretty quick. Hopefully he gets in and under three hours and doesn't spare of it. Yeah. It's very, playing last match again tomorrow night. I mean, it's like, dude, you kind of have to now because he's stuck. He needs to recovery time. Yeah, it's impossible. It's not it. They can't schedule him first. Yeah. Well, Alice played a good. I said to play a doubles match today. I saw him walking. I walked out of the locker room and he looked like he was playing and I didn't know what to do. I'm trying to go to the dog. It was like an hour and 15 minutes. I think he was just like wheeling me out there, coach. Like, he's put the body out there for the check.
I mean, props to him for like a great match again last night. It sucks for his partner. I feel bad for his partner. They lost two sets. That's rough. All right, anything else? I think that's it. The funniest thing I saw today was Sublink complaining about the... Oh, yeah, she can be very gentle. Yeah, I mean, this is like an obvious... This is a very obvious issue. Yeah, yeah. All right, I can already see the... Here it goes. I saw somebody's great comment. They said, let's have some class guys. Is the US open? Take outables. That's what I was wondering. That's what I was saying. I was like, listen, the smell is bothering someone. Like, there's an obvious solution. I know. You know, some people would say, don't. I'm like, just take a gummy. Just take a gummy, guys. It's fine. I mean, as long as you're a virgin. We wouldn't... Never. Ever. Ever. Ever. Do it. No.
I would never smoke a joint at a stadium while Arena Sableco was getting ready to serve. We'll see you. We'll see you. Dude, I have a rock something all of a sudden. I've been working 24 hours every day through this entire tournament. It was obviously Sean. Oh, my God. Taking Sean, the Transmographer is moving a little slow right now. Just taking this DJ life seriously. Oh, that's fun. Have we got in trouble for anything else? Not yet. I saw I got in trouble for calling influencer dorks with our ring lights. We did? Oh, did we not? No. Good. Don't ask. I don't think so. I was expecting some heat for that. I don't think I think we're all right. It's going to lean into it, but I think most of the internet has had some hard, hard, hard things. I do want to reiterate, though, like I met what I said about the ring lights. Don't be a dork, boomers. But... But... Like, also people are like ignoring the fact that this is like the cheapest advertising. You have to use it. I mean, it is funny. They start... It's a free ticket. They do. They get hundreds of thousands of people that are brought into the event. Like, obviously, it's great.
It's a great choice. Just try off your fucking ring lights and don't be a douche-nugging on that. Well, they put a big... Did you see they put a big thing above Armstrong that says, like, don't enter here with no flash photography and or other lighting? Yeah. All they did was just... Like, always said no flash photography, so they just said, and or any other lighting. That's just how they... That's it. Easy fix. We fixed it. Let's just do it. We solved it. We didn't do anything. We didn't do anything. We're literally sitting in the back of a car right now, parked in front of our hotel. With ring lights. With lights everywhere. We're influencing right now. We're influencing nobody. But we're trying hard. We're trying. They've all left. That's it. All right, well, since they left, we should leave. Well, before we do that, we definitely do some eight-sleeper things. I'm still sticking with Michael Zhang. As I've said, is my eight-sleep sleeper pick to keep moving forward? I think I'm going to go with Taylor Townsend. Oh, against Sabelanka? Yeah.
I think I'm going for it. Wow. I'm taking blocks over Koboli. Oh. That's it. That's it. And that should really please Koboli, because every time I choose against him, he wins, and every time I pick him, he loses. I don't know. He's like my new Surunderlow. He's like, he's been Surunderlowed. Yeah, I feel bad. That's it. Oh, man. The eight-sleep that is unbelievable. Yeah, well, what was your sleep score last night though? Badly sleeping. Bad 70s, because I didn't sleep. Yeah. How can your sleep score be good when you have four hours to wake up? Well, I mean, what did you learn? I'm going to crush that sleep score tonight. I think the way you crush it, there's only where the only place it goes up. I have been crushing it, but I like the accountability. You plug in. It's like I haven't been on the sauce, so it's like no drinking. Plug it in. It makes you feel good. Work out. Boom. And what I mean by workout, I mean, didn't workout today at all. Didn't do anything. It's also funny when someone walks in front of the car, and they see just lights on, and people talking, they look at us like we're doing something bad.
People are just walking into this bar right now. Well, I can't open the door. Yeah. All right, we got it. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That was the funniest thing I ever seen. I think she's just trying to open the side of the... Siding the side. I just saw a moment. I tried to walk through. Oh my god. Thank you to Cadillac. It's allowing me to see that. What's his sleep zone going to be? His opening door score is zero. Just so we're clear. All right, we're out of here. This is going off the rails. He's way too super the big... Pick up the week for opening the door on the way out. It's a push. There's no way he gets out. He's stuck. He lives there now. He lives at that bar. All right, thank you to Cadillac.
