It's March 24th. I'm Brian Dean Wright, former CIA operations officer, and this is The Right Report.
Hey, good day to you, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to The Right Report, your daily news, podcast.
I've got three briefs for you this morning that are shaping America and the world.
The first up Vice President JD Vance is off to Pakistan for emergency meeting with Iranian officials.
Maybe as early as this morning, probably tomorrow, he will try to launch some renewed peace talks.
I've also got a name that the U.S. thinks could lead the people of Iran will cover that and other war updates shortly.
Second, we've got some great news across the board, actually, regarding President Trump's five bucket strategy of reviving America.
We'll go from Kentucky to Arizona to Ohio to points in between for a lot of great news.
Third, the President was in Tennessee yesterday talking up his anti-crime policies, which have actually made Memphis much safer over the past year.
Meanwhile, an official in Chicago is reminding us of the other path that a city can take with a Democrat leader there,
blaming a murder victim for having the audacity to watch the northern lights while an illegal alien killer was about that contrast is coming up.
But first, let's get to our top war news of the morning and this could be a big one, ladies and gentlemen.
Vice President JD Vance, along with two Trump envoys to the Middle East, they are heading to Pakistan to talk peace with Iran.
Reuters news is reporting that Mr. Vance will join with Mr. Steve Whitkov and Jared Kushner on a trip to Islamabad at some point this week to meet with an unnamed Iranian official.
This hurried trip comes about 24 hours after President Trump surprised the world with an announcement that he would hold off on bombing Iran's energy infrastructure for five more days.
Of course, saving their power plants from promised destruction. Trump did that, of course, because he said that peace was nearly at hand.
But as the Washington Post is reporting, Iran's foreign ministry is down down plane and denying that they're talking to Trump and his team about peace or about this Pakistan trip, but it is true according to officials and Islamabad, along with officials at the White House.
It's also true, however, that the US and Israel have bombed Iran quite a bit over the past three weeks with communication between different regime elements at a low for their own safety.
And that is likely why the Iranian foreign ministry might be out of the loop on talks with the Americans, especially as the IRGC is now effectively in power over that country, and they're calling all the shots literally like shooting that intermediate range missile at Diego Garcia over the weekend.
And as political magazine reports, the White House is now looking for maybe another person or another group to call the shots, not necessarily just the IRGC trying to find and elevate a different leader or faction inside of Tehran that would not be regime change in the classic sense rather.
The White House is trying to work with Arab partners and the Israelis to find and then anoint somebody who's still in the regime, probably not pro America, nor pro Israel.
But somebody who would be willing to work with the US and allied partners on a ceasefire and a final peace deal.
One possible candidate that the White House and the Arabs and Israeli folk are all finding interesting this morning is Tehran's former mayor.
He's also a regime member and a parliament speaker, Mr. Muhammad Galibov.
Now he's not exactly a reformist or moderate, but he is being viewed as more amenable and flexible to the allies than these hardline IRGC elements.
Now, whether Mr. Galibov can muster the internal support to serve this leadership role or if you'll show up to the peace talks like in Pakistan this week, none of that is clear.
In fact, some are even saying that Trump's five-day delay here, it's all a ruse by the White House to prevent a global meltdown in the markets as you may have seen over the past 24 hours.
Yet still others say, in fact, as some did to political magazine anonymously, that what President Trump is trying to do here is not really elevate somebody who has likely chance rather just speak something into existence.
Like saying this Galibov, he will be the new leader of Iran, but according to the critics, that's not how it works.
But then again, we should remember that this war and diplomacy, it's not just about President Trump. In fact, he is in nearly daily contact with Arab leaders, especially Saudi Arabia's crown prince, Muhammad bin Salman.
We also know that Arab royal families are giving President Trump all kinds of suggestions on who they think that they can work with inside of Iran as the view is that the United States will eventually pull back.
So bottom line, President Trump is working with lots of regional powers in the Middle East to find somebody within the regime that they can all work with as part of his exit strategy from any further war.
That, of course, that process is likely to be a bumpy ride as the US and Israel have killed most of the top picks over the past few weeks.
Now, as that renewed round of quiet and yet bumpy diplomacy continues, the President is working to bring more firepower to the region and more of Ukraine's very much needed anti-drone interceptors.
Bloomberg and the Kiev Independent report that President Zelensky is upping his offer to the United States a suite of drone products both offensive and defensive.
Those would both be used in the US and the homeland and by US troops abroad, especially in the Middle East.
Zelensky also said over the weekend that he is now in contact with five different Arab nations to sell them drone packages.
But much like with the US, his expectation is that they would need to back him, Ukraine and their war with Russia, at least to some degree.
Those thorny details are now being ironed out. Zelensky, as ever, is pushing Trump to get him more step, more Patriot interceptors swap as Kiev is saying for the drones.
Those details are also getting ironed out as the US, of course, remains quite short on those Patriot interceptors ourselves.
So as we think then about the growing stakeholders in this fight, Arab trade partners, they would really like for this war to be solved and over like India.
Let's talk about those folks this morning. Bloomberg News is reporting that the Prime Minister, Mr. Modi in India, is trying to calm his country in the midst of a growing gas shortage.
We'll recall that New Delhi gets the vast majority of their natural gas from the Middle East.
But here's something they might not know. They also get their liquefied petroleum gas or LPG from the Gulf and that's used for cooking.
Now that supply is a big deal for a lot of Indians as many will often eat it to little small shacks or vendors that cook with this LPG gas because a lot of folks can't afford to buy kitchen appliances or cookware for home.
So without this Arab LPG gas, we've got a problem for a lot of very poor people, of course, in India.
Prime Minister Modi is telling everybody calm down and the two ships are now on their way from Iran with this LPG passing through.
Now what captains and chip owners are calling Tehran's toll booth.
And for this one, let's look at our maps on our phones, computers or in our minds.
Now, if you look at the straight of Hormuz, you will of course see the big island, the Kesham island that we covered last week.
It's the one that kind of looks like a dolphin. Well, you know, assuming you've had about three drinks.
Anyway, just to the south and east is a vastly smaller island that is called Laraq Island.
It's a really desolate place. And boy, if you look at the history, it's still quite interesting.
It has been battled over for centuries by the Ottomans and the Arabs, the Persians, the Portuguese, the British, everybody.
But now it is firmly under the control of Tehran. And as you can see under maps, it creates a little maritime channel with neighboring Kesham Island.
And that little channel is now where global ships are supposed to pass through so long as they pay Iran a $2 million toll.
Otherwise, if you are traveling through any other part of the straight of Hormuz, the IRGC will assume that you have not paid the toll and they'll blow you up.
As the Wall Street Journal reports, that is a long time tactic of those who control these waters and these islands for centuries, Hormuz has been described as pirate coast.
And no doubt about it, that issue of the straight of Hormuz and the pirate coast and the rest, we'll be a topic of great conversation between the vice president and the Iranians this week in Pakistan, assuming that's real and that they show up.
Which takes me back to the possibility of peace. As the president is flooding the region with more US Marines and firepower this morning, and also this possibility of the vice president flying into Pakistan to talk about peace, it might leave you a little bit confused about which one of those is likely to come next is war or to peace.
Well, to that, we have some very curious insider trading that might just give us a hint as unethical as it might be and it is.
Let me explain market watch and CNBC report that someone is using the polymarket betting site and others are placing mega trades in the futures market and they are predicting when this war with Iran will end.
Now that's not especially scandalous, but what is is that this person or the people are making the bets or the trades just minutes before president Trump makes a statement or moves the needle on this war.
So for example, about 15 minutes before Trump posted a social media yesterday about this five day bombing reprieve somebody made a very curious and lonely trade in the S&P futures market volume at the time was otherwise thin.
In fact, was up to and after that point of this big trade.
And then of course Trump made his big announcement and that is when the S&P shut up like a rocket making whoever this was a bunch of money.
We also have users on the polymarket betting site who correctly predicted the exact date of when this war with Iran would start making them millions and here it is, they are now betting that this war will end by next week betting a lot of dollars.
In fact, that bet has already netted some of these people $300,000 in unrealized gains.
And that is raising questions this morning if somebody in the administration is taking their insider knowledge and trading or betting on it and with great financial results so far as unethical as it is.
Now we should know that somebody else did this exact same kind of thing a number of weeks ago when they made a big bet on regime change in Venezuela choosing a very curious state when it would happen.
And they were right it was that person may be meant to sell on Capitol Hill say that this as a trend is not a fluke and they are demanding new rules or laws to crack down on insider bets and trades as this has been perfectly legal and permissible at least on the polymarket site to date critics of the president and this is yet another example of corruption in his administration maybe even my Trump or his family themselves the White House as we would expect denies that.
Which takes me to the critics of the president this morning namely the new resistance Republicans the conservatives Tucker Carlson making Kelly and former staffers like Joe Kent.
Last week I covered how each of those folks have made allegations that President Trump did not make this Iran war decision by himself.
No, he was forced into it either by Israel and the prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu or the Jewish lobby.
And you might remember in my analysis in my opinion I said that well that's just demonstrably false that both open source press and my own sources say that Trump actually decided on a military option with Iran by last December and into January that is when he chose or he decided to believe that diplomacy had no chance of working that's not to say that people didn't try to lobby him before or after that choice but he made that decision based on his own mind and merits last December and January.
So to that in my sources we now have this Reuters new service is reporting what they're calling exclusive saying that the president president Trump was not led into this war with Iran by the Israelis nor any Jewish lobby.
Reuters and their sources confirm that President Trump tasked his team very early in the presidency to give him both diplomatic and military options with Iran.
Now with the Ayatollah slaughtered the protesters back in January that firmly tipped the scales to war for the president.
He said that he didn't believe that such a regime could be trusted in peace talks and they would never give up then their secret nuclear and missile programs.
So it would be war decided the president the question though that was unsettled would be the mission exactly and the duration.
Trump was debating this with his military and intelligence leadership from January through February then of course we got the CIA intercept that signals intercept that said that the then Ayatollah commande and his team were meeting within just a couple of days on that early Saturday morning that Intel was also shared with the Israelis Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu then called up president Trump and said that they would never have a chance like that again.
Although they might want better timing or different timing or a chance to plan things better and whatever way this was going to be the only shot for a decapitation operation.
President Trump then spoke with his national security team wrestled with it for a brief brief period of time and then he made the call Israel would be given the green light to strike with a White House assumption that even if the US didn't go all in on this.
Netanyahu would probably take the shot anyway in the White House understood why this opportunity of killing dozens of regime leaders including the top guy was historic and it was compelling.
So with the president having already filled up the Middle East with a lot of US military assets and having chose to get the Pentagon and the CIA the green light for eventual US military strikes although the mission and the duration were still a little bit undecided.
Trump agreed with Israel and chose that Saturday morning that would be the first of the many strikes to come kicking off operation epic fury.
So those facts and data let's now pivot to my analysis and opinion and let's talk first about the prospects for peace.
So I don't know what comes next although I'm definitely heartened that the vice president is heading to Pakistan to try to give peace a chance maybe.
Well that aside I do know one thing president Trump understands that it is better to be feared and loved if you cannot be both and that is the only reason that any regime official any regime elements in Iran would ever remotely consider peace.
Otherwise they would just keep doing what they've done for 20 years they would continue their secret nuclear and missile programs that is just self evident.
Now that does not mean that Trump didn't bite off a little bit more than he could chew with this war or that America's military doesn't have his problems this morning we do as I've been sharing plus Iran retains a very healthy ability to either use gorilla or asymmetric warfare that yeah could bog us down we've been talking about that a lot.
And yet we shouldn't be overly negative here over the past three weeks boy these bombing runs have not been just little tiny operations by the US and Israel we have launched major bombing operations and assassination teams and campaigns inside of Iran those have hurt the regime is absolutely bleeding.
My point is that maybe the all in cost for Iran this morning it's starting to make some regime elements start to think about making a peace deal like this a parliament leader the Muhammad gulliboff I don't know but I will tell you with high confidence that Trump would not be talking to him or about him if the Arabs weren't fully on board.
And that I think is really important to remember present Trump talks to the shot a leader MBS virtually every day and they're washed up pretty tight on this war the same is true by the way with the leader of the UAE and Bahrain.
And yeah the same is true with Israel's prime minister Netanyahu which takes me to that article by Reuters and as I'm about to share its connection to the new resistance although first I just want to say I'm glad that Reuters cut up to the right report.
Go us go team second look I've been telling y'all for weeks now the Trump made this call regarding Iran on his own and he did it months ago.
Yes absolutely there were people who lobbied him heavily against this war and for it but Trump made the call on his own when he realized that diplomacy was not going to work.
So guess who knew that it wasn't just me guess who knew that it wasn't the Israelis or the Jewish lobby that ultimately pushed Trump into this war.
Yeah that's right the new resistance was also well aware of this Tucker Carlson he's got great sources so to make in Kelly and Candace Owens and Joe Kent he was in the administration new or should have known but they all lied.
And a pedal this conspiracy theory and still do to this very moment and morning of this Trump Israel collusion.
As ever I don't know why they are choosing to lie but they did and they do they all know the truth that Trump has a brain and he made the call but this just continues to not matter to them.
They spread the Trump Israel collusion garbage a lot like the Democrats did with the Trump Russia collusion stuff and you know for my optic whatever the justification here by the new resistance.
This Reuters article just underlines the point their reputations are just in tatters and deservedly so but what alarms me is the lot of people are still going to believe the garbage that they say.
Because none of these new resistance folks are going to apologize for spreading this collusion story mark my words.
It's become way too lucrative and they are too far down the rabbit hole to admit that well they got it wrong or their charlatans are both.
Now I hope that I'm wrong on that and if that is the case that they do apologize you will hear me say I'm sorry for suggesting that they wouldn't.
But look until they do and I hope to do let's just be done with these new resistance people.
I hope I never need to mention them again on my podcast I'm going to try not to meanwhile let's do what we should let's return to what's actually important not the podcast wars but rather what's important this morning and I would start with a hat tip to Trump and the vice president for this latest push for peace.
Now as a voter I'll be watching for two things future forward first a continued emphasis and deep understanding by the White House by the president and vice president that the United States does not need to be involved in another war.
We don't have the money nor do we have the robust supply chains for our military just a couple of examples for why.
But second I really want to hear a deep appreciation and communication by the White House that a secret nuclear program and these North Korean model missiles have got to be dealt with the timing that stinks yes.
But as a voter and a guy who hates nuclear weapons I get it at any rate with that let's take our first break of the morning we'll be right back.

Welcome back to the right reports let's continue with our brief this morning but the pivot now towards domestic news and we kick off with some very very good news domestic news this morning all connected to present Trump's five bucket strategy.
I'm trying to revive and reshore America's economy and our industrial capabilities first up let's talk about drones especially as we think about not having them in the middle east this morning nor any to knock down the threats here in the homeland like a to bark still air force base that I mentioned yesterday.
Reuters in Axios news reported and roll industries my favorite drone company to company that promises you might remember they want to make that drone shaped like a dragon someday to face off against the Chinese.
Anyway, Andrew industries they are making some progress on that the more traditional drones their new factory is on the verge of starting up their production lines with the Rick and Bacher Ohio plant it is at a schedule under budget and with drones flying or rolling off the shelves and less than a week.
Also this is cool news the company is working with the pickaway county high schools and Ohio universities to help develop engineering curriculum for future workers.
Which is about 4,000 in all when this factory is fully operational this project promises to be one of the biggest job creation and economic development efforts in Ohio's history that's according to the state.
The first drone produced by the way it's pretty cool it's expected to be their fury model the war zone has some neat pictures of it if you want to see it it's pretty neat looks like a mini jet over the next nine months they will also be producing other things including their road runner interceptor which I really want.
They also have a barracuda cruise missile which I also want obviously and then they also have another drone that is for a classified program which I will take that to whatever it is at any rate Godspeed to and all industries and thank you Ohio next we stop by Indiana and Kentucky for even more good news.
I'm present Trump's bucket of using tariffs to resure production facilities the company Toyota has announced that they're increasing their investment and US manufacturing plants by one billion dollars.
Courts and local press report that most of that money will go to their existing plant in Georgetown Kentucky with a few hundred million going to their plant in Princeton Indiana.
So if you buy a Toyota Camry or a RAV4 crossover or the Grand Highlander SUV those will all be made in the USA although you might want to ask the dealer first to disconfirm that for the next few months.
It's all part of the Japanese effort folks to meet President Trump's demands for our trade partners to invest more of their production facilities in the United States or get tariffed.
In Japan's case they have agreed to work with us for a lower tariff rate promising then to invest $550 billion in the United States including these auto plants to natural gas facilities to major investments in rare earths and mining.
In fact we should see some big announcements about the Japanese mineral investments in this country over the next three months.
Speaking of let's talk about that bucket of progress the mining and the refining of critical minerals.
The Trump administration yesterday announced a $250 million investment and a new fund that will boost mineral supply chains.
This cash will be pulled with Arab Japanese and Singaporean investors with a goal of $1 trillion to secure rare earths especially for the US and this global consortium.
Obviously is to create independence from China as Bloomberg notes the $1 trillion will also go to energy production not just rare earths and that is because folks around the world have been sobered up by what is transpired over the past three weeks in this war with Iran so
natural gas nuclear power they are also future investment strategies for this new one trillion dollar fund.
Another piece of arguably good news this morning mineral news to tell you about it's from Arizona Rio Tinto has gained control of ground called resolution copper.
It's about 2400 acres of what promises to be the largest and most productive copper mine in the US as Reuters news reports Rio Tinto has been locked in a 20 year battle for this mine.
With President Trump pushing for resolution after taking office of course last January the courts have finally signed off on this deal much to the pain.
I should say of indigenous tribes or one there anyway they call this ground sacred for our final piece of arguably good news on the bucket front.
Let's talk about energy the French company total energies is ditching their plant to develop offshore wind farms and instead putting that cash into natural gas facilities.
The AFP is reporting that the French outfits had about a billion dollars locked up in wind farms off the coast of New York and North Carolina.
They did that after getting a bit of a sweetheart deal from the then Biden administration of course Trump not a fan of those windmills as he calls them.
So he is directing his team to lock up these kinds of projects and big litigation or he will say to these foreign companies let's make a deal and that's what the total energies decided to do switching their investments from wind to now a billion dollars heading to Texas for the Rio Grande LNG plant in Brownsville.
So all in from Toyota to the mining and the rest from gosh Ohio taking Tucky all over the place we've got great news this morning good progress and just wonderful things to celebrate this morning and all kinds of US dates regarding these five bucket strategies and can we just bask in that goodness for a second because the news cycle lately is not been so great.
Okay that was good well enough of that I've got more bad news to tell you well actually it's a it's a mix of good news with a reminder of how bad things can get if you have bad leadership so for this let's head first to Memphis for the good news and then to Chicago for the bad so kicking off in Tennessee president Trump was in that state yesterday meeting with leaders in Memphis and visiting Graceland.
But it was the focus on crime that got the most attention borders news service reports that the president highlighted how he and his team have brought down crime in that city and as we cover this past fall.
President Trump is right in fact here's how the Washington Post covered it last November with a headline that read quote crime dropped after Trump sent officers to Memphis but not everyone is happy end quote.
Okay well why is that now let me tell you we'll recall that president Trump surge national guardsman into that crime written Memphis city nearly doubling the capacity of the local police who were saying that they were grateful.
They were overwhelmed by the criminals in that town until they got this extra Trump support and once the guardsman were on duty local cops said they could focus on a range of crooks and thieves that were otherwise run and loose there was a backlog of arrest warrants.
But not so after Trump surge arrived within weeks serious crime fell 46% year over year.
In fact let me break it down robberies and motor vehicle thefts dropped by 70% a piece aggravated assaults were down by 50% and murders dropped from 21 to 12 year over year.
So the residents were thrilled and so to kind of was the Democrat mayor who reluctantly cooperated but even that evoked fury from other Democrats in the state and beyond who said that he shouldn't cooperate with the Trump people at all and that he was complicit with the Nazis and working with the fascist regime.
The mayor had a response and I was a little bit muted he said quote I have a city to run and quote.
But as president Trump said yesterday in a message to not just this mayor and really not just the people of Memphis but actually the entirety of the country his anti-crime surge of the national guardsman that can work anywhere if Democrats who run a lot of cities around this country are actually interested in improving the lives of their fellow Americans.
Unfortunately according to the White House a lot of these Democrats are not and that is why these Dems continue to reject his offer despite the evidence that we have from Memphis that proves what can happen when you work hand in glove with federal authorities.
And that takes us next to Chicago local press and others report on some growing outrage that was caused by an older man or older woman.
Miss Maria Haven the Democrat and activist here was commenting on the recent murder of a Miss Sheridan Gorman.
She was an 18 year old from New York who was shot dead last week while she was walking with her friends along the city's Lakefront.
They were all out looking at the Northern Lights and that is when a Biden illegal from Venezuela a 25 year old man named Jose Medina Medina begin to stock them.
He then pulled out a gun she tried to run away. He shot her dead.
This crime was not his first in the city. He'd been arrested for shoplifting amongst other things but he had been released due to Chicago sanctuary policies and restorative justice policies restoring justice for Tim it would seem not the community and certainly not the victim.
And that takes us to the comments then by this older man or woman and Democrat activist Miss Maria hadn't.
She suggested about 48 hours ago that actually Miss Gorman the victim and her friends bear responsibility for her death.
Saying quote they might have unintentionally startled this person at the end of the period the Biden illegal they were in the wrong place at the wrong time they ran into a person who had a gun.
And quote okay to be clear they did not startle this man Chicago PD said that the Venezuelan was stocking them for a time before he pulled out he has gone and pulled the trigger.
And as for this statement of wrong place wrong time well that would be on a well traversed public peer out trying to enjoy the Northern lights.
Anyway that is why this Democrat politician Miss hadn't is now facing backlash for what critics say Democrats kind of always do downplay the crime excuse the behavior and cuddle the perp who of course is committed to crime and if they're an illegal alien boy work to prevent their deportation no matter how awful that person might be.
So I would love a response then and I would love to offer that to you by Miss hadn't however.
And for the record she is refusing to comment at least as of this recording for the near post reported that she has made similar inflammatory comments previously about what she believes.
And that would include her comparison of ice operations to the Holocaust and you guessed it the Nazis.
Pivoting now from a facts and data to analysis and opinion you know it's a bit of a broken record but it is worth repeating my old party of 20 years has gone bonkers.
And let me just give you another example this morning in the event that you don't quite believe me in Oregon this morning.
Democrats and leftist agitators there are working to put a measure on a statewide ballot for this November that would make hunting and fishing illegal and ranching to the goal apparently is to stop the injury or the death to animals in that state according to Oregon Democrats.
But the ballot measure is actually written such that it could apply to pests and bugs so exterminators could be out of business and anybody with a fly swatter good lord good luck to you.
Now whether or not this passes in Oregon this coming November it's unclear.
But it's actually secondary to what Democrats in the Beaver state are saying this morning is their actual goal and that is to push the state and this country further to the left on everything and over time and yes that would include animal rights and probably bugs.
Which means that I am guessing we're going to have to eat I don't know Splenda or paint chips on that once Democrats take over I'm not sure what else we're supposed to eat.
You know I thought bar the bug burgers they were okay I don't know maybe not anyway this is a seemingly silly but important example actually that whatever you think about President Trump or the GOP the alternative is downright frightening.
If not that I just outright evil and that might seem a little bit overboard or hyperbole but you know I suspect that that family of the murder victim in Chicago mischared in gorman they might be wrestling with that emotion today.
They lost their daughter and now this Chicago Democrat is all but excusing the perp and victim blaming and that is not a cork of that party anymore that is who they are they choose the bad guys over the good.
And if you want any more evidence of that stop by Memphis at some point as President Trump just showed folks we don't have to live this way the decline the decline is a choice.
And with that ladies and gentlemen let us conclude this morning's episode of the right report.
