The Australian murder of Lilie James is as frustrating as it is devastating.  Why is it that when a woman decides to leave an unhealthy relationship, she suddenly becomes more at risk of violence? Paul Thijssen seemed to have the world at his fingertips, but his narcissism, his sense of entitlement and his desire for vengeance on a girl who dared to say no, claimed more than one life.
The inquest has just happened and there are so many questions that still remain to be answered. How could a beautiful young woman end up brutalised in the school she worked at's changing rooms, and how did nobody notice the signs that lethal danger was stalking her?
