Potential savings will vary, discounts not available in all states and situations. Well, what were your thoughts when you found out you were becoming to the Buffalo Sabers? I think excitement was a big one. Obviously, emotional. I've been in Winnipeg for a long time and met some great people and had some great relationships with teammates and whatnot stuff. Fun. It looked like a lot of fun. I think we might have them at home here once before the season's over. I'm sure the way you're shooting this season is helping your confidence as an offensive player. But does that spill over into the rest of your game when things are going offensively? Defense, hitting everything? For sure, I think confidence is huge in this league. I think last year was a good step for me. And then this year coming in was kind of got off to a good start and confidence grew. And I think my games are going to go... You were here for... Bring to this team is it pursues a playoff for the final twenty games of the season? Yeah, I think some added depth and physicality. I've watched how they played a little bit and they play fast and make plays.
And I think it's going to be a lot of fun to just try and get to know the guys and helping anyway that account. You've been in the buildings for the last two games this game and yesterday, you've seen a pretty good atmosphere here, especially in this first period that you just witnessed, does it kind of get you excited to what you've seen in the last four periods? Yeah, 100% I think this is a great sports town and passionate fans. So to see the sabres having success this year and people are coming out and supporting is awesome. And the building's gonna be rocking for the rest of the year. We'll just have a speaking to it, but what's happened this year to help you reach that extra level offensive? I mean, when you see whatever nine goals and it's more than you have in your career, I mean, it's kind of, it's kind of jarring, I guess, you know, to see that growth. I think, you know, confidence is big, but I think I put a lot of work into my game over the last couple of years and it's starting to show and pay off. You know, I worked on my skating a ton and, you know, a little bit of skill work. So, I think just, you know, overall game has been getting better and, you know, the offensive side's great,
but I'm still focusing on defense first and making a good first pass. And, you know, a lot of offensive side of the game's kind of just a bonus. You're one of three players from the Winnipeg Jets to get traded to the sabres. Having those teammates come with you for lack of a better term, does that help with the adjustment period and going from Winnipeg to Buffalo? Yeah, for sure. I didn't know many guys coming in. So, I'm tested for familiar faces around. It's gonna be nice and I know Pierce just got here today and Shanner's on his way too. So, it'll be nice to kind of get to know the group with those guys and, you know, I think we'll be good additions. Oh, on that note, what can this team expect for Luke Shen as a player, as a leader, everything? Yeah, obviously a guy with multiple Stanley Cups and over a thousand games. He's been in the league 18 years. I know he wants to keep going and trying to hit that 20-year mark, but he's just a great guy and he works hard at his game, obviously, to stay in the league for that long. Great teammate and it's gonna stick up for his teammates and, you know, add another good piece of this roster. Do you have any idea at all when this piece of thing might be taken care of? Do they have they told you?
No, no, I'm not sure. I know as much as you guys. This has to be very, very difficult. I mean, you can play, but you can't play and that has to be horrible. Yeah, it's a little bit of a weird situation, you know, kind of skating by myself and I can't really join the team on the ICF. So, you know, I'm hoping it resolves itself quick. What are the connections to the organization just even just friends that, you know, just that you played with briefly or anything? Not really, I know a couple of the guys, but no, it's a lot of new faces. So, it'll be fun to get to know everybody. What's it like joining this kind of defense core? I mean, there's four or five guys down the ice all the time, especially the way it's not four plays offense. Yeah, it's gonna be exciting. Obviously, we were in here with Winnipeg a couple of months ago and you can see the skill and the speed that they play with and it's gonna be a lot of fun. It's gonna be nice to get on the ice with them and kind of pick their brain on how they play and hopefully learn some stuff from them too. You already figured out one team
that the Buffalo Sabers doesn't like having yet, the one you're looking at right now? Yeah, it's an exciting first period and there's a lot on the line and it was nice to see the guys stick out for each other and show some good team toughness.
