Good afternoon everybody on this Friday, March 20th, 2026.
I have all of your news for your rush hour ride home.
We will solely be discussing the bachelor at Taylor Frankie Paul, the bachelor at that
never was her season canceled, canceled after they filmed the entire season days before
it was set to launch brand deals, cinnabon pulling out, unbelievable stuff to get to.
I'm going to cover every single angle of this story.
It's what we do best on our channel here, Diving Deep, and again, it'll probably infuriate
some people depending on what side of the story you are on.
And if you're new to our channel, I just ask you to have a little grace as we try to
navigate all possible outcomes of this insane, unprecedented story.
Taylor Frankie Paul out as the bachelor at so all this and more starts right now on the
rush.
Next year, her statement, now what went down yesterday, I had already released my other
episodes.
I had a show in Stanford, Connecticut.
I was driving literally pulling off the side of the road.
I had to film a breaking news update in Lyme, Connecticut, which is the home of Lyme
disease.
I had to check myself for ticks afterwards.
And speaking of leeches, boy, I mean, listen, this is unreal.
I've spoken to everybody.
Text messages.
I've been going back and forth with content creators for weeks.
Most week, a lot of content creators are asking me, like, should we even cover this season?
Should we boycott it?
People are pressuring us.
And then the footage came out.
That's right.
The video footage came out of Taylor Frankie Paul whipping or ex baby daddy Dakota with
metal bar stools.
And I can't tell you, I was shocked.
It's one of the worst videos I've seen other than Diddy.
And I think Ray Rice was the guy, right, who like drags his partner out of an elevator.
I mean, just brutal, brutal, brutal stuff.
The Diddy stuff, I mean, look, you can't compare every situation.
They're tragic in all regards.
There are people defending Taylor Frankie Paul.
I'm going to share some of their stories.
There's a lot of people not defending her, saying ABC did the right thing, but what took
so long?
Why did we have to see the video to let a known abuser go on TV?
And then the statements from Taylor Frankie Paul are saying, he's the one who's abused
me.
We're going to get to it.
Right.
And this isn't a sit on the fence.
This is because whether you've watched every season of the secret lives of Mormon wives,
or whether you think you know it all, we don't.
We absolutely don't.
So we're going to get into this.
And again, we now actually have, and again, I'm not here to share spoilers of our season
ends up, but someone who she was very serious with on her season is actually speaking out
praying for her.
I'm going to share what he had to say.
Lots to get into this and more starts right now on the rush.
So Taylor Frankie Paul speaks out after ABC polls bachelor at premiere alleges she suffered
extensive mental and physical abuse, which I'm not going to deny anyone who claims they've
been, you know, the victim of mental and physical abuse.
We just only have video of her committing the abuse towards him to go off of.
That's just it.
Now, if there is more to the story, I think she's entitled to tell that side of the story.
Maybe not right away.
I think, if you ask me on a crisis PR level, I think Taylor Frankie Paul should get into
the Rachel Levis aka Requel Levis sort of PR world that she did after scandival.
She was the mistress in scandival, which is to say she gave up her cell phone and she
went to a retreat for like a month somewhere.
Right now Taylor Frankie Paul, her greatest danger is herself.
She needs to be under 24 seven watch.
I don't, I don't, I don't need to see any more information other than to say she is
not well, regardless of whether she was the abuser or the victim or both.
She is not well.
And before something happens that is irreversible, she needs help.
I doubt that the people around her are the helper.
When you're a, when you're a celebrity or an influencer of this type, you are the giving
tree.
Everyone wants something from you till you are resorted to being a stump.
They make their money, their percentages, the agents, even the mom, everybody makes their
money off of you.
Now she's going to lose millions upon millions of dollars in sponsorships.
What brand is going to want to touch her after what we all saw?
Now I'm not going to share the video with you.
It is brutal.
It's on TMZ, not my place to share it.
Who leaked the video?
Why was it leaked?
I believe on her kids birthday.
The other Frankie Paul plays the victim.
She may be the victim, but she plays the victim in saying, well, they did this to me on my
shining moment.
And that might be true.
It could be that her ex Dakota is absolutely sabotaging her on her moment.
We don't have many details about the latest accusations about her regarding the violence
other than that they do have it on camera.
But it looks like it would violate her, her probation that she was on.
She could face jail time.
She could be going to jail.
Well, we'll have to see how that all plays out.
We'll be here to cover it.
Make sure you hit the subscribe button.
So Reps speak out.
We'll share what they have to say, Bachelorette and ABC had to say this.
In light of the newly released video, just surface today, we have made the decision to not
move forward with the new season of the Bachelorette at this time.
And our focus is on supporting the family, a Disney entertainment television spokesperson
said in a statement.
That's right.
Don't f with the mouse.
They will come for you.
And they said at this time, now if it comes out, the Taylor Frankie Paul tells
a hell of a story that Dakota has been abusing her and she snapped and she needs so much
help.
And this, that in the other, if she tells a story where people feel like they want to
be able to decide whether they watch her, maybe it goes on Hulu, maybe it goes to a place
where people can decide, I've always said, I'm all for free speech.
And I've always said, if you want to have your product out at the buffet table, it's
up to the consumer to decide if they want to eat the crab legs or not.
I don't recommend eating the crab legs at the buffet, but I'm not going to stop somebody
if that's what they want to do.
I will stick to the mac and cheese at the buffet.
That's the safe.
You know, is the chicken dried up?
Has it been replaced?
Often, you know, judgment calls and people can make that on her.
spokesperson for Paul says in a statement, Taylor is very grateful for ABC's support as
she prioritizes her family safety and security.
After years of silently suffering, extensive mental and physical abuse, as well as threats
of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking
steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.
There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive jealous
ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives.
Taylor has remained silent at a fear of further abuse retaliation in public shaming.
She's currently exploring all of her options, seeking support and preparing to own and
share her story.
Now, that's where the statements should end from Taylor, Frankie Paul, for the time being.
That's where it should end with regards to her, you know, letting that statement do the
heavy lifting and the talking for her while she gets the help that she needs.
We're going to share comments she's made and I believe has since deleted that just don't
tell that story.
And we're going to get into that.
I did want to share a few clips.
I've got a manual at show who hosted the after show for the bachelor during the Rachel
Kirk-Connell mad James feud, which led to Chris Harrison getting fired.
I'm going to share what he has to say.
We'll get to that in a moment here.
But how about this?
ABC's unprecedented last minute cancellation of a bachelor at could cost network tens of
millions of dollars.
Listen, they can afford it.
This is what happens.
You know, every year I shot a pilot for ABC at a small role in ABC, an Amy smart pilot.
This is like a long time ago.
And that pilot cost millions of dollars to make and it never got picked up.
And it's sitting on a shelf somewhere.
So if you work at ABC, let me know.
I think it's called C-Kate Run.
Let me know you'll see your boy in it.
They have so much money.
They can spend literal millions of dollars on products and just decide we're not going
to release it.
And we've seen that happen with certain movies.
If there's some sort of negative buzz about it where they go, you know what?
It's sitting on the shelf.
We are going to keep it in the bullpen.
And again, we'll have to deceive.
That's what they end up doing.
I just wanted to share Thomas Jacobs, again, he's had a successful run on the show, the
franchise.
He's got children, cute, adorable children.
One of my favorite couples to come out of the show, I'll be at Thomas and Becca found
love on Bachelor in Paradise.
So the formula of the bachelor at in Bachelor seems to work less than the formula of Bachelor
in Paradise, which is let kids co-mingle out there on the beach and see who wins up with
who.
But either way, did you know Thomas is tall?
This tall beauty over here.
And look, he's, he's put in his foot down.
And this, this is what he made before the show was canceled, but I think it was important
how quickly a lot of former alumni, our alumni on the show came forward and said, with
the regards to however this thing started, you cannot air this.
You cannot platform this.
Have a listen.
Very disturbing video and I couldn't get through it.
I owe the bachelor at a lot in life, most importantly, my two kids.
And what I just saw is something that honestly makes me sick and to continue to support this
and to ask a audience to support this and encourage this behavior and and celebrate it, it
just is so dang wrong.
It's it's honestly awful and you guys gotta do a start.
You guys cannot continue to support this.
You cannot continue to give us a platform and it all just needs to get scratched and we
all need to do better because this is frankly unacceptable.
Frankly unacceptable and listen, everybody agrees with this.
Grant Ellis, he was the bachelor, not many people watched his season, but have a listen
to what he had to say.
And again, he takes a hard stance here.
As a former bachelor, I mean, what's your take on ABC cancelling the entire season of
the bachelor red with Taylor Frankie's hall?
Well listen, bachelor nation, ABC and I, we stand against domestic violence, 100%.
And it's unfortunate.
It's an unfortunate situation, but I think it's a time and place to talk about some of
the African-American leads that have come from rough environments like myself that have
been faced with all these temptations and, you know, have no felonies, have no, you
know, run-ins with the law and we made it out.
So it's, although there's, this is really negative, there's a silver lining here.
Okay.
So I mean, do you feel like it was fair to scrap the whole entire season of filming?
I mean, especially for the guys who gave it their time to be there.
I think ABC needed to take a stance and they did that, you know, I think if they were
to take a stance and they did that.
And look, it's a tough question for the contestants.
And by the way, I'm not going to judge anybody who has any take on this matter because it's
a hard thing to talk about.
It's a really, and I'm lucky I got a platform if I get it wrong, I can keep talking.
It's a hard thing to talk about.
There'll be commenters that are so mad if you have one opinion or the other.
And I do think it's important that when there's physical abuse of any kind, that it's
like, look, you're allowed to have the grace to recover from that.
But the show doesn't have to platform it.
And by the way, this is the show's fault.
They knew this police report existed.
They knew that the police escalated the charges against Taylor, Frankie Paul, because
of the footage that they saw.
It's just that this footage came out now that they're like, whoa, this is really bad.
It's like, well, what did you think?
And I'll tell you what they thought.
They thought they were getting a star of a hit reality show that was going to save their
franchise.
It might have Doug gets final grave.
We've got people supporting Taylor, Frankie Paul.
And I wanted to share what they had to say.
I'm going to share those in the bachelor community that initially claimed that they were the
ones that got Frankie Taylor, Frankie Paul cast Nick file.
And what's going to come of whether or not they'll be calling her out.
All of this and more stick around for it.
It's good coming right after a quick word from our sponsor.

Here's a TikTok from someone saying, Taylor Frankie Paul still has my support.
Let's have a listen.
This, but I still support Taylor Frankie Paul.
The video being released from Dakota selling it, Dakota selling the video to TMZ three
years later, right when the bachelor at is supposed to air is still trying to manipulate
and control her.
Now, I don't know that Dakota sold it to TMZ.
That would be very interesting if you did.
That'd be a real, real tough move there.
I'm guessing this video has been floated around the whole.
I'm guessing everyone had it.
And I don't know who gave it away.
And I don't know if they had her best interest or not.
If they took money for the deal, that shady.
And now he's just like making money off of it, which is also like, but also the way he
is in this video and the way she is, you can tell that she was, and I'm not saying it's
okay, but this is just the result.
The video that you are seeing is the result of his abuse, maybe not physical, but of his
manipulation, toxicity, and abuse.
And if someone, if she would like say, slapped him, look, I can have that conversation.
Well, like, you know, if a woman slaps a man, a lot of people say, well, what did he do?
Right?
That's what happens.
If a man slaps a woman, a lot of people don't go, well, what did she do?
Well, you know, it's a, it's a nuance because we know that this man's twice her size.
But she's whipping, whipping mental, mental stools, you know, those, those like light
metal ones that can whip really fast, like those cheap IKEA ones, she's whipping them
at Dakota.
It ricochets off of him and hits her kid in the head.
Kid could have gone blind.
Kid could have been killed.
Absolutely.
It is, if I was a CPS officer, I'd say, I don't know who started this, but this kid isn't
an unsafe home full stop.
Now for her to have this opinion that, well, we don't know what happened before that,
I understand that.
It doesn't make it right, but I, I can have that conversation every day of the week.
Absolutely.
We can have that conversation.
Here's Doug Mason, a finalist on Taylor Frankie Paul season, sorry, there's spoilers.
You're never going to watch the season.
Here's what he had to say about, let me refresh this.
He said this early this morning, I'm guessing on the West Coast.
Here's what he had to say about this sort of shit storm going around Taylor Frankie
Paul.
So let's have a listen.
In light of everything that's happened, I'm just setting up prayers to Taylor because I
was her moment and her moment was blocked.
So all we can do right now is just be hopeful and I'm headed off to run to watch the sunrise.
There it is.
So he's, you know, he's going to try to take care of himself.
And look, I, I also exist in that place of grace where I go, look, in the end, whether
it's covering this case or everything else we talk about, I want everyone to get in
charge and in front of their mental health.
But it's not going to happen when she's still in front of the camera.
I think Claire Crowley, Crowley, said it really well.
She was like, look, I went into my season of the back sort and a great head space and
it still messed me up.
And so we don't know, first of all, I'm going to, I'm going to be so interested in what
this latest charge is against Taylor Frankie Paul because if she did make amends and overcome
her obstacles from previously, do I think she should have been the next bachelor at
no, but what I'm more worried about is is she even trying to fix this demon that she
has this physical abuse she was committing because she's going to pass that down to her
kids and they're going to fight people at school and it's going to be an absolute mess.
Break the chain, right?
That's what it's all about is trying to break the chain.
I also will talk about purity culture, not specifically in the Mormon world, but because
she is raised in the Mormon world, how purity culture may lead to some of the issues.
I'm not saying everyone who's in a high control religion or religion commits these issues,
but how aspects of purity culture can lead to a lot of issues that we're seeing play
out from their season.
There's people on their season, they can't even look at their partners in the eyes.
They can't hug each other, right?
They're drinking their diet coax.
It's rough out there.
Every single person on that show is in therapy and I'm glad that they are, but it's like
we can talk about the symptom as well, while also talking about the reactive nature of
what we saw in that video.
She's all batch.
One of our favorite shows, go check out she's all batch, right?
Aren't they adorable?
She's all batch.
Here's Stephanie saying, Nick Vile, showing up to work after taking full credit for Taylor
Frankie Paul becoming the Bachelorette.
Yeah, that's right.
He was doing a big victory lap, flexing his guns, his muscles that he was responsible
for getting her as the Bachelorette, and I'm sure he put in a good word.
I'm sure he's got some clout there, but how about in the funny, it was a super funny
reel.
Then Taylor Frankie Paul responded, Nick, it's my hype guy.
Let me tell you something right now.
Any comment from Taylor Frankie Paul is not going to do her justice.
She needs to put the phone away, I mean, literally people are saying, get her a 50, what is
it called?
The 51 50?
Does 51 50 exist in Utah, which again is like an involuntary hold?
It's wild and absolutely wild.
Her ex is, they're trying to get full custody of the kids, and she's on Instagram right now.
This is kind of the problem, right, is when she was throwing those stools at Dakota, he's
like, look, watch out for your kid, and look, he should have done anything in his power
to get out of that situation.
Absolutely.
You know what I mean?
The best thing you can do if you're ever in a shit storm is find a way to get out, but
the kid's involved, and that's scary, that's scary stuff.
But I also, I also wouldn't be surprised if he was instigating her, but also like, that's
the world we live in.
We're like, every guy's been in a bar, and some dude wants to fight you.
And you need to decide, am I going down, am I doing this right now?
Am I, is this going to be part of my, on my rap sheet, am I going to take the high road?
You ever been in road rage, and you got to decide to breathe deep and move on, and don't
make eye contact with the guy that's trying to ram you, you know what I mean?
And at some point, it's like fight versus flight.
Or in this case, fight, flight, record, decoder recorded.
And maybe it was the 10th time this happened.
I don't know.
Here's a manual at show, again, hosted the bachelor at, after show, the bachelor after show,
after Chris Harrison was relieved of his duties.
And here's what he had to say about the extensive vetting process.
Hey, we are interested in you hosting the bachelor.
It came down to me, Michael Strahan and Tiber Banks.
They wanted to keep it in the ABC family.
Michael Strahan hosts Good Morning America, Tiber Banks at the time hosted the dance
group with the star.
I said, you can find somebody more famous than me, you won't find anybody better than
me.
Ultimately, they asked me to end up hosting it.
But before they asked me to end up hosting it, severe background check, after background
check, after background check.
Not only do they do that, they give me a whole booklet in order to host just this one
episode, and debrief me on all of that.
Not only do they do that, they give me all of the DVDs of the packages from every character
that I'm going to have to talk to during the course of their season to make sure that
I am well-prepped as they have completely studied me in my history.
So Immunual Actual is making the case that they knew what they had with Taylor Frankie
Paul.
And I believe that to the extent that they would have seen the police report.
But I also believe that when they cast her, she had not yet committed whatever crime
we have now, which we haven't seen the video of, which could possibly lead to jail sent
and jail time, if it's true that she's sort of committed new violent crimes, right?
And by that, I mean, did she violate her parole?
And again, these are the tough conversations to have.
There's a subreddit called X Mormon, and I'm very, I empathize with people that have
been in religion.
And by the way, you can be a Mormon who's not in a high control religion, and you can
be a Mormon who is in a high control religion, depending on the area you grew up in.
I can be a Catholic who wasn't the victim of any type of abuse whatsoever, and know that
just a short hours drive away was the biggest scandal that ever rocked the Catholic world
as far as we know.
And all of the crimes that existed in there.
And you can talk about purity culture in the evangelical world, these purity rings,
they give to their 15-year-old daughters to promise they will never look at a guy the
wrong way.
Look, it's wild out there.
And so someone has posted these subreddits of how has purity culture affected you.
Again, what I am not saying is that by being Mormon leads people to committing abuse.
I'm not saying that whatsoever, but I am saying that when you live in a religion in
a world where they tell you, don't masturbate, don't do all these things that are just normal
things that people do.
Pre-marital sex.
I talked about this my stand-up show last night, the loophole, the poophole loophole, right?
These are the slang terms they use, soaking, which is a term where you're like, it's like
anecdotal, right?
It's like you're kind of like not thrusting, but you're in someone and then someone else
is pushing the bed up and down.
I don't know if this helps you out, but the fact that they even have these terms in the
culture means they know how strict and moral they have to be.
I had one of my best friends left the religion in his teen years because he couldn't smoke
a joint without feeling immense pressure from his family.
They get, and then so that leads you down this pipeline of getting married at 20, not knowing
who you are, the high stresses and post-partum psychosis that happens to a percentage, but
a percentage of people.
So you want to have a conversation about Taylor Frankie Paul, where the hell her hormones
are, what she's gone through with the pressures of being on a reality show and the pressures.
I'm all about having that conversation that doesn't mean I'm making apologies for
her.
They'll be so in commanding.
Dave's apologizing.
No, no, no, no.
What we do on the show is try to turn over the stones that come from every angle of this,
which is why I wanted to share this clip with you guys right here.
He did a fucking piss.
I have seen no less than four videos already condemning the video of Taylor Frankie Paul.
This is textbook domestic violence and not in the way you think it's called reactive abuse.
Reactive abuse is a type of domestic violence that happens when the abuser literally pokes
you, prods you, agitates you so that they can elicit a certain type of response for you
to make the victim appear crazy, aggressive, dangerous, violent.
Now if I was at a bar and I'm getting into the scuffle with the guy and I'm like, hit
me, bro, hit me and then he punches me, who's at fault?
The other guy is because he's the person who committed the physical act.
Now don't get me wrong.
There is nuance to all of this and I do understand the idea that someone could literally break
you to the point.
I've seen literal victims take a gun into a courthouse and shoot there the abuser or we've
literally seen this play out where victims have sought retribution or they've sought
like their own justice because they didn't feel like it was coming in other directions.
Absolutely, we've seen that play out.
If Taylor Frankie Paul has any receipts whatsoever and wants to come to the table and finally
tell her story, we're going to make sure that we cover it because that's the fair thing
to do.
With all of that said, if you're Disney, if you're ABC, if you're the bachelor at at this
point with the information you have, you cannot air that show on Sunday, which is why it
was canceled.
It is abuse.
We have no fucking idea what happened leading up to when Dakota decided to take out his phone
and hit record and then sell that video to a tabloid.
This is literally what being a survivor fucking looks like.
And I'll say this and I know it doesn't go equally in both directions and I understand
the physical dynamic of why that's not the case.
I think that people that have the best nuance towards issues are mothers with adult sons.
And I'll explain why because I feel like I'll never know what it's like to walk though
the world of a woman.
I can sort of empathize to the extent that I'll see maybe how my wife is treated when
I'm not around and how that's differently than if I am and how women are treated, you
know, as far as like in society, pink tacks, the leaving a parking garage alone, dealing
with a creepy person, there's so many aspects that I can't ever truly understand.
Because like last night after my standup show, I can need a meatball sandwich alone in a
parking garage and not worry if I'm getting raped or about to get raped.
I can live in a world that's way more peaceful and less threatening because I am not the target
of someone's, you know, of a deranged person to that extent.
But what I learned and what I've seen is that women moms that have sons seem to empathize
with what boys go through because if you want to call it patriarchy, I don't know what
you want to call it, but we all exist in a world that sort of raises people up a little
too fast.
Young girls, teens, women, you know, they're, young girls are treated in sexualized in a way
that's disgusting and we see this play out in so many different ways.
And especially in purity culture, because they're like treated, they're like told to like
sign off and that they won't have sex and they might be like eight or nine.
Like, what is it?
You don't even know what a purity green is, right?
They're treated in a certain way, cover that up, like they're sexualized.
And I can't imagine what that does to somebody.
I truly can't imagine what that does to somebody and what that might lead to with feelings
of insecurity and with a lot of purity culture also comes eating disorders.
And this like perfect, you know, thing that I know the Mormon church has.
I know the evangelical church has like, you got to look perfect on Sunday.
Everyone's got a perfect, perfect, perfect, and then behind the scenes, you got the pastor
bang in the, you know, whatever, like there are, there are, there are shit show because
they're not living their authentic self in the first place.
So they, you know, they resort to this like nefarious lifestyle in some cases.
So how does that lead to what we saw in the video?
I don't know.
I don't know, but hurt people, hurt people.
And I think to have this conversation as redundant as it might sound is we can say that is
wrong.
You need help.
We have to have this conversation, a greater conversation about what led to this mess and
also understand that the fire is still burning and no one seemingly put it out because ABC
is going to look out for themselves.
But do they have, do they have a 24, seven person watching over her?
The worst version of the story is opening the newspapers up tomorrow and seeing that
there was self harm that was done that is irreversible.
That is the war or harm that's done to someone else and that is the worst version of the
story.
So we have to be careful how we cover it.
We have to be careful how we have this discussion.
And we have to be careful to know that the actual win is that by having these conversations,
maybe we help someone else before they might get, they might get to the place where Taylor
was there.
That's what has made my show, I think, relatable to the people that watch is that we try
to have conversations to learn something about what we're seeing.
Even if it's not a situation we went through, I would ever want my son to ever be in a situation
when he's growing up or growing up that he would ever mentally abuse someone else or
live in some codependent life or some attachment, have some attachment disorder where you're
treating someone and manipulating them in this and that.
And the same thing if I had a daughter, I would never want that, I would never want
that from my wife or my sister or anybody else.
So again, we are ramped up on the empathy, we are ramped up on the grace and we will not
have a show to cover on Sunday.
Whether there's more to this story, we know that for a fact moral come out, but where
we stand right now.
And I would love to interview some folks from all sides of this to continue talking about
it.
But this is the problem with social media, I'll say and this is why I won't be reading
comments on this video or any others is because I spent a lot of time articulating and thinking
about my point and then people will just leave a seven word response and this is not a
seven word conversation.
So feel free to have the conversation, just know, I don't know a better way to do it than
sitting here and talking directly to you guys.
Have a great weekend.
I'll be in Boston this weekend, I know I'll see a lot of you guys so we'll see you there
at Laf Boston Friday and Saturday night, otherwise we'll be back Monday and we'll continue
to talk about this and everything else in our culture and our politics and all of the
news we cover.
So we're here twice a day every day.
Have a good weekend, everybody.
I'll see you then.
I'm Dave.
