The Trump administration still cannot explain the reasoning for this war in Iran or if it's a war at all. This confusion comes after Marco Rubio and House Speaker Mike Johnson suggested that the timing of U.S. strikes was driven by Israel’s planned attack on Iran, arguing that a preemptive strike was necessary to protect American forces, installations, and assets in the region. Trump has since contradicted Rubio and Johnson after his ego was hurt by the suggestion that he is controlled by Israel which forced Rubio to walk back his statements from Monday.
