第3002期:Data shows decline in migratory fish populations

The Atlantic salmon and the goonch catfish from Nepal are some of the 30 flagship fish species which had been prioritised for global conservation by the UN.

Population data of more than 15,000 species of freshwater migratory fish, which make up half of all fish species, were assessed by a team of international scientists to identify those most at risk and culturally significant.

The fish they selected will now be put forward for listing under the International Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species.
