304: Demon's Souls, Gamestop vs. Reddit and Adam Davis Interview with Game to Grow

This week Austin plays Demon's Souls on the PS5. This is one of two console exclusives that came out at launch. It's from Bluepoint Games and is the remake of the original from From Software. How does it hold up in the modern-day? We also talk about our return to Star Wars: Battlefront 2. 

In the news, Kevin Hart will play Roland in the new Borderlands film, Bleeding Edge development shuts down and  a group in Reddit literally sends Gamestop stock to the moon. 

Our discussion today is a special one. We invite Adam Davis from Game to Grow back onto the podcast to talk about what they've been up to with their incredible mission for using games in therapeutic ways and help them overcome social anxiety and much more.  It's a fantastic cause and they even have a tabletop RPG called Critical Core coming soon! "Game to Grow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the use of games of all kinds for therapeutic, educational, and community growth.  Our therapeutic social skills groups help youth and adults become more confident, creative, and socially capable through the intentional facilitation of customized, collaborative gaming experiences. We’re most well known for our use of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, though we use many different games in our therapeutic social skills groups. Many of the kids, teens, and adults in our groups struggle with social confidence and building community. Our groups help build social competence, reduce isolation, and form friendships that last. Though a diagnosis isn’t required, commonly supported populations include autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and more. We also provide training, consultation, and support to other therapeutic and gaming professionals, educators, parents, and advocates, so that even more individuals can benefit from the life-enriching power of games."
