America leads the world in medicine development.
It matters.
We get new medicines first, nearly three years faster.
Five million Americans go to work because we make medicines here at home.
And not relying on other countries keeps us safe.
But China is racing to overtake us.
Will we let them or will we choose to stay ahead?

What is going on, everyone?
Welcome back to another episode of the Beyond the Tape podcast.
You're going to hear with you.
The lead draft analyst, not football analyst for 32 beat riders.
And today we are continuing our series of fixing the franchise.
Yesterday we talked about the Arizona Cardinals.
In this time round, we're talking about the Atlanta Falcons.
This is a fun one too, right?
New head coach coming in.
That should overhaul the look of that offense.
What are you doing?
Michael Pennext.
Drake London's all of a sudden.
B. John's fantastic.
But what else is going on?
A plus like the James Pearson and all?
Like what's going on there?
So I'm excited to go and break down the Falcons.
Definitely use this website.
It'll be down below in the description.
Stick to the model.
This is such an awesome resource.
And I have been waiting for years now.
It's people to do like full off season simulations to do this series.
And it's finally available because of this website.
So huge shout out.
Also make sure the guy who runs this or made this website.
His ex handle is down below.
In the description.
So that way you can go follow him.
Shoot him any questions you have.
Or if you trial and use this website.
Definitely give him any feedback that you have.
I'm sure he'd be appreciative of it.
But we'll start with cap management.
Then we got trades, free agency.
And then the NFL draft in and of itself.
We'll do a seven rounder for the Atlanta Falcons.
So all right.
We'll start with Kirk Hudson.
He's going to be cut.
We'll make a post June 1 designation.
Study of us $12 million in savings.
This year by by Kirk.
Let me get to Jake Matthews.
And really this is going to have to probably be a restructure.
Add the void year to open us up some money.
He is 33 years old.
So you get a little if you about moving money for.
But he's been a good player for the franchise.
So we'll restructure.
Same thing with Chris Lindstrom here.
And we'll go ahead and tack on the void year there.
I'm going to do the same thing for H.H. Rel.
Figure on him being around for a good bit now.
Now we're up to $71 million.
One year left on Jesse Bates.
He's 28 years old.
I almost wonder if we just extend him frankly.
Yeah, I almost just rather extend him.
But that that option for whatever reason isn't available.
Most of the time you get the extension option.
Over here.
Franchions.
Well, that being said.
Let's restructure.
And we'll just add a void year then on Caleb McGarry.
Yeah, probably the same thing.
Probably the same thing.
And I don't mean to keep spam in the same option.
But that's kind of just where it seems at.
I'll write about now.
Donald Mooney is the tricky one because like who could cut him and save a good amount of money.
Where you restructure him.
This team needs speed threatening offense.
So that's where I'm.
I'm a little hesitant to move on from them.
But the best cap savings is just by releasing a 29 year old receiver.
So I'm going to cut Donald Mooney.
I don't really think that they will per se.
But in this situation, I think we can get it back cheaper once we get the free agency.
And then you'll see over here.
Nothing crazy.
I want to extend.
Drake London.
So it's kind of annoying.
Why that's not popping up here like a normal is Ryan Newsiel.
Not our starting center.
So could cut him and save $3 million.
I'm not really sweating the too hard.
Save $5 million by cutting Charlie Warner.
Yeah, we'll do that one.
$2 million.
Save $2.8.
Save $2.7.
I'm not as worried about a lot of these.
Matt Bergeron will hold on because we'll need a depth.
Yeah, I think that's pretty much it for casualties.
Restructures.
Things of that nature.
I don't know why it's not given me the extension option for some of these guys.
Oh, well, not our prompt right now.
Let's see what other recommendations it has for a structure.
Jake Matthews.
That's just what we did.
So normally it'll give you some suggestions up here.
But I already took care of business.
So let's go ahead and move on then.
And now we see the trade offer.
So we get trade Tucker for a third run pick.
I'm good on that.
Yeah, I'm good on that.
We would only it only costs $3.6 million.
But kind of a one year wonder.
I think I'm good on that now.
I'm not going to get it.
It only costs $3.6 million.
But kind of a one year wonder.
I think I'm going to go on that now.
Michael Wilson's a different story.
Have it hand be like an ex-receiver.
I'm interested in that.
But do I want to do 48?
Not really.
Not really.
Especially considering this team doesn't have a first round pick.
Could we do 57?
And can we add a player?
Oh, man.
They're not going to let us.
Oh, man.
I really like to.
Third and fourth.
Yeah, that's where it's tough.
Man, this team's so light on picks.
I don't know if I love it.
I really like Michael Wilson's a player.
But we just were so light on Capitol.
I just can't see myself doing it.
Calvin Ridley for 79.
Bring him back to Atlanta.
I'm good.
I would do it if it was for a fourth round pick.
Do you think Turner is interesting for a third round pick?
Hmm.
Hmm.
They say you should learn something new every day.
Like how you should only drink Yeager Meister at zero degrees Fahrenheit.
Ice cold.
Like those frozen cavemen they find, which makes you wonder,
what would a caveman think of Yeager Meister?
Well, if you served it more, I mean, probably throw it in your face, say,
and storm off.
And nobody wants that.
So drink it cold or not at all?
Yeager Meister.
Damn.
That's cold.
That's not possible.
Yeager Meister.
LeCure, 35% alcohol by volume imported by mass.
Yeager Meister, US white planes.
New York.
Yeah.
I'll do that one.
I'll do DJ Turner.
It's tough for light on assets.
But he's a good corner.
And frankly, that saves me a position of need.
We need another outside corner.
And he's a good football player.
Don't let the struggles of Cincinnati and their secondary getting the way of like,
he's a good football player.
DJ Turner.
Him and Dax.
They're both good football players.
And then I would do this Michael Mayer thing.
He's very much kind of a Kevin's to fanski kind of tied end.
But I don't want to give up another draft pick.
So that's kind of where I'm out on that.
All right.
Cool.
Scale London.
I'm good on that.
I thought that was Drake London for a second.
So I was like, huh?
He wants to know I'm good on that.
Actually, frankly,
none.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of those guys.
I'm good on both of that.
So we got 93.8 million dollars to be able to spend.
So our pending trading is Kyle Pits.
This is the big one.
Who want to bring back Kyle Pits?
Um, I think I do.
I think I have.
I think I have faith in Kevin's to fanski being able to make this work.
At the same time, man.
Is there a,
is there a different type of an option?
I feel better about.
Who is your cube at his older?
Tonjes.
Hmm.
Pits is just really isn't a great blocker,
but neither was in joky,
likely.
Chica concoo.
Could give you a lot of the same stuff, but for cheaper.
sixteen million dollars for Kyle Pits, man.
I don't know about that.
That feels,
that feels rich.
So I'm going to hold off right now.
Let's look at the receiver market here.
First, let's look at our death charts.
We got PanX.
That's going to have
that's gonna happen.
I'll bring in some competition.
London, we need another receiver.
We need two receivers to be completely honest with you.
Tight end, could use a center.
I'm going with the right tackle.
I'm going with everything else, really.
Could use some pass rush, obviously.
I mean, could use a true nose tackle.
Because Rukaro was not a nose tackle
and then a couple of three texts there.
Maybe the trade for D.D. Turner.
So he's the corner upset of A.J. Tyrell
plus Mike Hughes is a better nickel.
Billy Bowman's a really good nickel.
I'm interested in that and then we got two good safes.
Okay, cool.
So really trying to find some receiver fits
for what Kevin's defense is going to do.
And also taking the account,
we just let Darn on the new ego.
So in that event, dude, like I,
I'm kind of here for the Alec Pierce fit.
A guy who could be our extra receiver
but also can stretch the field vertically.
So I'm going to make an offer to Alec Pierce.
And then I want one other guy.
One other guy for his defense case.
We got Drake using me our power slot.
Pierce is our ex field stretcher.
Who's a little bit of a do it all guy?
Who could just come in and kind of round out this room?
I did Yummy Brown last time around.
He's a good football player.
She's a head.
He's going to get more than $2.2 million
to be completely honest with you,
but she heads also interesting.
We could also use a slot
unless we have, yeah, I don't really love the options for that.
Slot receiver slot, oh, John met you the third.
That could be interesting.
One of these is a key is to just miss shoes to for cheap.
Let's do that.
Could you just miss shoes to run a one year deal?
Cheap slot receiver.
And then let's also go get just a little bit more speed
in the former Rashiche heat.
And like he's going to make more than $2.2.
So I'm just going to try to boost the offer as much as I can.
So I feel a lot better about that.
And then coming back to tight end,
we still got money to spend.
We still got money to spend.
So I don't really love him as a blocker
to be completely honest with you.
And that's kind of my hesitation here.
I don't want to just try to go check a conq well and go
at 8.8 per.
Yeah, there we go.
And he's a much better blocker, frankly.
So I'd be way more into that.
And then also then you look at like Isaiah likely
is like a move tight end.
That could be fun.
Who else could be kind of a cheap move tight end Greg
Dolchitch?
That's the guy.
That's the guy.
Cheap and he was pretty good last year for Miami.
So now I'm feeling a lot better about that.
And frankly, these two guys collectively
cost what one Kyle Pits does.
You're getting a much better blocker in Chica Conqwell
and you're getting a move tight end in Greg Dolchitch.
So I like that a good bit.
I like that a good bit.
And you could even instead of like Chica Conqwell,
you could go with, I'm Charlie Colors,
kind of an interesting guy to play in line.
Calcuttaire could have been another interesting move
tight end option.
So a lot of different options for the TV
to be completely honest with you.
Sorry, sorry for the on there.
But you could go like David and Jokou just for the continuity
and then pair him up with Calcuttaire or something like that.
So let's double check the depth chart.
Do you want to get some quarterback competition?
Obviously Kyle Pits is gone.
Flacco is like the interesting one, right?
Like because he's worked with Kevin Stofansky.
You put him in a dome and he's actually
been playing some decent football.
So I'm going to go with Joe Flacco.
When you're deal 9.4, there's our quarterback competition
just in case Michael Penix is an healthy week one slash.
He shits that.
Also Tyler, how jeers on the market.
I would love to bring Tyler back for,
especially for $3 million dude.
He's going to make more than that.
So I'll bump it up to five and make it a two year deal.
Make it a three year deal.
It's a great one to punch what they have.
I'm not going to move off of that.
Cool.
So I'm feeling pretty good about the offense.
Other than Sarah.
Let's go look at what Interruptive Line is available.
Elijah Wilkinson, I will say is like decent depth.
Kate Mays, I'd love to, but I'm not paying that.
I'm out of money.
She'd Walker, Kevin Zitler.
This might have to be,
I honestly might have to go back into the same
while I did last episode.
And either postage isn't a bad play either.
Josh Jones is interesting.
Fred Johnson, Good Swing Tackle.
But like, Ebonyl for cheap is interesting.
And then specifically for a center,
I could always just go and grab Sean Ryan.
Where was Sean Ryan?
There he is.
Guy who could play some center.
$1 million does feel a good bit rich.
Cool.
Strange.
I don't know about strange.
Yeah, I thought about it for a moment,
but I think I'm good.
Jamari Sawyer, John Simpson.
Come on off a little bit of a down year.
I really know these guys are like centers.
That's where this is getting a little tub, Joel Potonio.
I'd love it for cheap.
Just to have a cheap option.
Elijah Barry Tucker,
Simon Johnson, Kevin Jenkins, Austin Corbett,
has played some center.
Spencer Burford.
Spencer Burford.
Now that could be the option.
Let me just double check.
I'm pretty sure he's played center in his career.
Let's go see Spencer Blackburn.
Spencer Burford.
Let me look that up real quick.
And then as long as he has played some semblance of center,
I think that's gonna be the cheap guy that we bring in.
Yeah, listed as a guard, but I'm almost,
yeah, he's got 1,000, yeah, 1,700 staffs.
Now, granted, there are two of his lower graded PFF seasons
at center, but I'll do it just for the cheap depth.
I'll do it for the cheap depth.
It's 26 years old when we get to your deal.
Good scheme fit.
Let's do that.
Adding room, coming off a pretty solid end of his season.
Dylan Parham, I would be bringing back
if I'm the Raiders.
Max Mitchell.
Yeah, no, I think I'm good there.
I think we're good.
So then let's go over to Edge.
Like this team is gonna have to,
and honestly, frankly, I might have to be like a pick
at this point, like a draft pick,
depending on like who is available to them.
But yeah, this team needs Edge Rush
and the worst way possible considering
what's going on with James Pierce Jr.
and questioning if he's ever gonna play again.
So aren't we a kitty for that price?
I don't hate.
I'll do $8 million.
One year deal.
I'll do that just so we have some depth.
Angel Malone has been super productive.
Osa, Henderson, Mac.
Malcolm Coons is an interesting name.
I don't love the $15 million.
Quitty Pay is also one where I could see
where they go for that.
Get some instant run defense.
And then maybe partner it up with an ardent key.
Who's just gonna give you the password, juice?
So Quitty, two year deal,
ardent key, one year deal.
Yeah, $8 million.
I like that.
I like that a good bit.
And then that really kind of just leaves us like,
I need a nose tackle,
which I can get a nose tackle for $8 million.
And good thing we already added a corner.
So I can kind of look back at that trade
and I'm kind of happy with where we're at.
David on your motto.
We just bring back David on your motto.
That feels like probably the move.
I'll double check.
I don't see Jalen Redmond getting out of Minnesota.
During my Jones, a little bit more of a three-tack.
John Pringle and Meyer, same thing.
Interbuildings, a little bit cheaper.
Shelby Harris, a little bit cheaper.
But frankly, at that point, let's just have the continuity
and let's bring back our boy David on your motto.
Boom, he's back and we're out of cap space.
So there's that.
And that's also with like, there's other things
we could do on this roster to kind of save some money
and some contracts we could restructure.
But yeah, boom.
Awesome.
I like what we did in frames either.
I am content, frames, these last trades.
I think this is already looking a whole lot better.
Now let's move on to a seven round Falcon's draft.
Now granted, that's gonna be like all of four picks.
So yeah, here, let's look.
I think it is exactly, or now, yeah, now it's four picks.
So 48's are only top 100 in selection.
So that is gonna have to be a best player available approach
through and through for us.
Perfect world.
Perfect world.
Honestly, it's probably a no stack.
It's like Lee Hunter or an edge.
But we got, yeah, Quity for two years.
Yeah, I feel like it's nose.
I feel like it's Lee Hunter.
Can Lee Hunter get to us?
They don't think of it's fun too, man.
They don't think it would be a whole lot of fun, man.
All right, let's look at who's gone.
Mendoza, Tate, Reece, Spaley, Downs, Moinoa.
Who did the Rams take?
They took Man sort of lane,
Tyson Simpson to the Jets.
And then with their other pick,
they took Caleb Lomo.
They moved back a pick, interesting.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Did they move up?
Why does it have a trade here?
It's just trade with us, I guess.
Caleb Lomo, okay, cool.
And then more recently,
some McNeill Warren off the board.
Lee Hunter did go, frickin' Houston,
man, snake in me.
C.C. Miller, Chris Bell would have been fun.
Armace and Thomas, Sinah and Young Anthony Hill,
Christian Miller would have been another good one.
Damn, it's Dylan Thien and then it would have been a fun one.
Chris Johnson's a corner that I really like taking
for this team.
So we had it out, we signed Alec Pierce.
And now I'm looking at Chris Brasile
and I'm like, probably gonna just go on
for Chris Brasile.
Pregnant is interesting.
Perfect's gonna play center.
But I don't know if you absolutely need it.
Keep Ackis.
I think it's a little early.
I don't really love Big Citrus here.
Like Grayson Holden's a player, I love,
but I don't, does it go 48?
Probably not.
Do we go edge?
Ackis is interesting because he could collapse inside.
So I feel like a 340 offense is a 340 in an edge,
a little bit of both.
And then you're just gonna have to work with what's his face.
And Granted, there's nothing saying
we couldn't get a nose tackle later on in this draft.
Nothing saying we couldn't do that.
And like I'm kinda looking at Derek Moore at the same time
and I'm like, hmm, he's a different type of rusher
than Arden King, Quitte Pay and Jalen Walker.
I think Ackis is gonna be the play.
But different body type, different style of rusher
and pays a one or two year thing.
We did Arden Key as a one year Dale.
Lanyamata's a one year deal.
Should we go linebacker too?
Or about inside linebacker?
Who's here inside linebacker?
Right, I would, ooh, just side trotter.
I might go just side trotter.
Bertrand, Devon, Diablo.
Yeah, I'm gonna go just side trotter.
He's my off ball linebacker three.
How do you think he could use an upgrade there?
They don't have great coverage options as is
and he's not really changing that,
but at least he gives you some energy,
some violence, a thumper in the middle of that defense.
So now we wait.
Now we wait until 114.
So Darrell Jackson off the board.
I could have been an option for that interior
and there goes big citrus down in the orange.
Ted Hurst off the board, it would have been a fun
extra receiver to add into the room.
Huh, 114.
What do we wanna do?
Brailsford's kind of an interesting skimpit
and like, could you draft and stash him as a center?
Well, we're not gonna have the option
because he just went off the board.
He just went off the board.
So, and Brian Parker, the second's gone too.
So there goes that center option.
I was kind of hoping we'd have a center.
We could draft here.
Well, let me take a look at what Kim Tim Keenan's
kind of the nose tackle I'm looking for,
but I also really like Rashad Benny.
But for like what they're doing,
I'll go Tim Keenan here.
114 feels fair for Tim Keenan.
I feel it's good about that.
I feel good about that.
And then we're next up at 196.
Okay.
So if we could refine a receiver,
maybe another spot where we could add some edge too.
I think both of those options are on the table.
Maybe another corner.
Yeah.
You know Wagner would have been interesting
there, Bryce Lance, size speed guy,
just to work with Alec Pierce.
We got Ju-ju and we got Sheed.
So we don't really need to force that.
Okay.
I just took Colt Payton.
And obviously I was a tackle.
Jake Matthews and Jack Nelson
that they took last year.
That's like a swing guy.
But I wasn't like the world's biggest Jack Nelson guy.
A swing tackle would probably be good for this team as well.
I'm not really entertaining trades at this point.
Let's just, let's make our picks, right?
That being said, like two more swings to the bat.
All right, sorry, hold on.
Considering it's just two picks,
let me take this.
I'm just going to move back two spots.
They're going to take Eric McAllister.
It probably wasn't going to take him anyways.
That he's Dixon.
I don't hate adding another corner into this mix.
I like him as an outside boundary corner.
Anybody else in this mix that I would say?
No, I'd say that he's probably the best at a bunch.
Wide receiver, Aaron Anderson,
Caleb Douglas, Eric Rivers.
I do like Eric Rivers.
Or Tyron Malkumery.
Okay, forget about the Senior Bowl standout
that was Tyron Malkumery.
Inter-ounce of line.
Is there a center here that I like?
Yager Burton.
Could we go Yager?
I think that's going to be the pick.
Yeah, Yager, really good try and bowl standout.
Sneaky good center, good scheme fit.
Yeah, we'll do that.
And good thing we got an extra swing at the bat,
because otherwise, that would have been our second
of last pick, but now we got two more.
Try on the clock at 2.26 and then 2.31.
And of course, guys, we're like Barrel Shopping
at this point, like I don't expect any of these guys
to be anything special.
I don't know, we already took a line back here,
but like, frankly, Eric Gentry had a pretty good try and bowl
too.
I wouldn't hate doing that either.
Vincent Anthony Jr., he's going to be like my day three
edge of choice.
So, yeah, I think it's going to have to be
Vincent Anthony Jr.
We did Quintavius Hutchins last time around
for Arizona right around this area.
But Vincent Anthony Jr., all arms and all legs.
I'm a big Vincent Anthony Jr. guy.
He's definitely worth having in that rotation.
Cool.
So, we've gone mostly defense, mostly defense.
And mostly front seven on top of that.
I don't hate the idea of adding a corner.
We still have my guy, Thaddeus here.
No, Thaddeus is gone.
Fred Davis was pretty competitive at the senior bowl,
way more though than I thought I saw on tape.
But I'm not going to force that.
The only thing we could look at is Tyden.
Like, I know we signed to you guys,
but like, neither one of those two guys
were like, dudes we need to have.
And like, Marlon Client specifically, really good blocker.
Really good blocker.
So, I'm interested in that.
The only guy I would take ahead of him
in that type of role is Sam Roush, who I don't see here.
Move back three spots.
Move back two spots.
Just do it for me.
No, I'm good.
Running back to anything I'm missing here.
Desmond Reed would be fun.
Like, don't get me wrong.
But, I don't think we need to do that.
We'll quarterback your left.
I'm just curious how the simulator plays.
I don't do a whole lot with the simulator.
So, I'm just kind of curious.
Jack Madden's either Matt
and Kalnik Mackes Joey or Joe Fagano,
like all Myers I really saw back.
Like, he's a tough guy.
You type a backup, oh, you already got,
you already got Panax Maradae,
I've Latin America so I'm not sweating it there.
Yeah, just come around with a client.
That's a really good developmental tie-up
for this team.
Really good blocker.
And then like, an athletic package
that you just get to just kind of sit and wait for a year.
So, specifically I'm going for like,
chicken conkWhale, I really like that.
I like that a good bit.
And that's going to do it.
That's my fix the franchise for the Atlanta Falcon
You know, like the trade is probably the one that, yes, C plus interesting cap health.
Yeah, we're definitely hitting the limits of our cap health here, but we also didn't get
to extend Drake London for whatever reason.
So that's that, and I don't think I would have saved us any money this year, but that's
one of those things for like future outlook.
I think this would have been better and that would have boosted this overall grade.
And if I left more than just point 8 million, the cap health would have been fine.
But let's go ahead and look at this roster real quick one more time.
So penics, we got Joe Flacco then to be our competition behind him.
We brought back to all our out here awesome keep that one to punch working.
Drake London to be our power slot.
Alec Pierce will play X and he'll be our vertical fuel treacher.
Rashichi he will be a gadget player slash on a speed threat and a great special teams player for us.
And then we also brought in who is the other wide receiver we saw.
And we were trying to see her sorry, sorry, jujus mischuster.
Jujus mischuster is kind of the catch all fourth receiver who can do a little bit of everything for us.
Then off as a line wise, not a whole lot of work there.
We did sign Spencer Burford to play center or at least be some center competition.
And then we drafted Jagger Burton to be a center of the long term on the defensive side.
Tim Keenan plus we brought back David on your modest.
We have a guy who can play nose tackle now.
And then a guy who can play nose tackle for the next four years.
Quitte Paye, we brought him in infreedency on a two year deal.
Relatively low cost in the northern key on a one year contract.
Day three selection of in stands junior just to see the pass brush upside.
Judy Bertrand divine Diablo also drafted Josiah Trotter with our first pick.
I think he would be an awesome impact.
You know, kind of violent player in the middle of that defense.
The trade giving up our third round pick for DJ.
I think it's worth it.
He's played good ball when he's healthy.
And I like him opposite of AJ Terrell.
Then that also gives us a little bit of extra insurance with Mike Hughes being that third corner.
Billy Bowman Jr. in the nickel like that a lot.
Xavier Watts just debates keep doing your thing there as the
safety's.
So here's a look at the kind of financial side of it.
And then yeah, honestly for 2026 to 27, we're not too bad.
But now that being said, no Drake London and no Michael Panic's extensions factory that
eventually that will be a part of the equation.
And then real quick here were the cuts.
Obviously post June 1 on Kirk cousins.
We did move on from turn on Moody, but honestly, we didn't even have to go with Alec Pierce.
In Ruckus Brecht, I probably wouldn't have signed him and spent that money elsewhere.
And then I would just take in Chris Brasile of 48.
But it's all good.
Not mad about getting a developed player versus like a mystery box.
That is kind of Chris Brasile and a second round player.
And then here were some of the restructures pushing money forward for Matthew's
Lindstrom, Tarell, Jesse Bates, Caleb McEary, all guys that I won on this team long-term.
With their run pick for DJ Turner.
And then our signings, Alec Pierce,
Judges Mischus, Dureshichi, Chica Conquoad, Greg Dolchitz, Joe Flanko, Tyler Abjir.
I don't know why I'm reading them while I out.
You can read.
And then our draft picks with the one feedback where we then ultimately selected Tim Kean.
We basically got an extra swing of the bat for moving back two picks.
So I was going to take Kean a no matter what.
It was kind of a win of an offer and that basically gave us the Vince Dance and the Junior pick.
