#3764: Why Your Difficult Conversations FAIL

About this episode

Today, I’m breaking down why most difficult conversations fail. The problem usually isn't that people don't know what to say. It's that they skip steps and jump straight into solutions before establishing that there is an issue, that the issue needs to be addressed, and that someone is actually taking responsibility for it. I’m giving you the three-step structure I use for difficult conversations: agreement, intention, and resources. Follow the order, get clear on who owns the problem, and only then figure out what support is needed. Show Notes: [02:45]#1 First, agreement. [16:28]#2 Confirm that they intend to address the issue. [23:23]#3 Identify the support needed. [25:31] Recap Next Steps: --- Execution is not a talent.   It is a standard. If your results don’t match your ability, something in your approach is out of alignment. Most people do not have a motivation problem.   They have a consistency problem. Power Presence is the system for operating with greater discipline, clarity, structure, and execution under pressure.
