494. Is This OK? The Marriage Bed Questions Couples Are Asking... And Our Honest Answers
About this episode
Sex can be one of the most powerful ways a husband and wife connect. When intimacy is approached in a healthy way, it can deepen emotional connection, build trust, increase affection, and strengthen your marriage in incredible ways.
But the opposite can also be true. There are things couples can introduce into their sexual relationship that may seem harmless at first but can slowly create distance, hurt trust, or damage the marriage. That’s one reason we receive SO MANY questions from couples asking, “Is this okay?” or “Is this something we should be doing in our marriage?”
And honestly, some of these questions aren’t easy to answer with a simple yes or no. Every couple has different backgrounds, experiences, values, and comfort levels. What may be healthy and enjoyable for one couple may not be right for another.
So in this episode, we’re talking about some of these difficult and sometimes uncomfortable questions and sharing the guidelines we use in our own marriage to determine whether something is going to bring us closer together—or potentially create distance.
If you’ve ever wondered where the line is between what is healthy, helpful, and appropriate in the bedroom and what could ultimately hurt your relationship, this episode is for you.
We’ll give you practical questions and guidelines you can use to make those decisions for your own marriage, rather than simply following what everyone else says is “normal.”
