Happy four-nighter day from your proud home of the red and gold.
We are the Sports Leader, sponsored by Bigelot, Grab a Mug, and Tea Proudly.
Hey April 9, 4, 9, 49er day.
49 I like it. I like it. I like it. I like it. Let's have some fun because it's two weeks away from the draft.
It is the 80th anniversary of the Niners. Maybe Alguido has something to tell us.
I don't know. It's just great to have Alguido on.
He's, of course, actually, Al's getting incredible, so we say, promotions and title,
title, what should we say? Making the business card look better.
Chief Executive Officer of the San Francisco 49er.
So he hands out the card now.
Have you met me? I'm Alguido. I'm the CEO of the San Francisco 49er.
So it sounds pretty good for a kid from Philly who just was hanging out in a deli with his dad.
Good morning, Al. Welcome back and congrats, Mr. CEO. How you doing?
Good morning, Al.
I'm doing great, guys. Thanks for having me on. I appreciate it, Murf.
It's good to hear about your voices.
Yeah, it's been a while since we had you on, man.
You're, you've laid low. I need you to, I need, I need Mr. CEO more. Can you come on more?
I appreciate it. It's been a crazy couple of months, fellas,
between the end of the season, hosting the Super Bowl.
You know, now getting ready is, as you already kind of alluded to on the lead in
between Frazier C, a couple of weeks away from the draft.
For nine days, you know, our 80th anniversary, which is fun to put that 80th logo up
and I know Jerry Rice narrated a piece for us today on 49th.com.
So our fans should go check it out. But look, it's an, it's an important day for our fans.
Certainly the ones who come to Levi to follow our content.
I know this is the, the piece of the work that needs to happen.
But all fans go to whatever app store, whether it's Apple or Google or whatever it might be.
Download the new app, check it out. You can personalize a bunch of your stuff.
If you go to leave us for games, you're going to need it anyway.
For your tickets, for your food, beverage, for your parking.
It's really important. And we'll probably work the team put in.
There's a lot of fun AI-type stuff with sourdough fans.
So check it out. You can make your own jersey.
But we're real excited to launch it on 49th day.
And we got a number of other special things that are going to be
happening for the 80th anniversary.
I just typed in on my store.
Is it San Francisco 49ers?
The official 49ers app? That's the one.
You got it. Download it.
Pick your jersey number.
Mine was 85.
I'm a college jersey number.
So I went with 85, even though it's our 80th anniversary.
But 85 is what I wore in college.
13 is what I wore in high school.
Were you the George 85 in college?
Were you the George Kittle of your 49er team?
I mean, your college team, pardon me.
I was the George Kittle only in number.
I was the very four-man slot receiver,
Murph, but only in number with the George Kittle.
Were you a Ricky Peersol?
Ow.
I wish I was Ricky Peersol.
It must be a better player than me, partner.
Oh, this is great.
This is great. It's a cool app.
I got it downloaded.
It's cool.
Join the Faithful family.
Sign in with your NFL ID.
Continue as a fan jersey.
Here I'm going to go.
Let's go here, buddy.
What should I go with?
What should I go with?
Well, I mean, like, do I steal the number of a great...
No, I don't know. Do I go with like my own lucky number?
Do I go with 16?
Oh, do I just go 16?
It's just like an former quarterback for the school paper again at UCLA.
That's right.
So I think you've got to go 16 on the bat.
That's me and Joe.
Ow, what do you think?
What do you think?
I love it.
I love it.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Marcus, what was your linebacker?
I wore 47 in high school.
So I'll channel my inner John Lynch.
And you hit like him.
Yeah, I did.
I tried to help him.
Oh, man, I bet you did.
Hey, so tell us about the 80th anniversary.
And what are we doing for it?
Now, this is a big deal.
Men, dude, listen.
Warriors ain't been here 80 years.
Giants ain't been here 80 years.
Shark's ain't been here 80 years.
Only one team been here 80 years, buddy.
That's you.
Yeah, it's pretty crazy, guys.
You know, obviously for me,
I feel like we stand on the shoulder of giants every day.
We walk into that building.
We get reminded of what the what the goals are.
You know, whether it's the five o'clock party,
trophy, staring us in the face.
Well, there'll be a lot planned throughout the year.
And, you know, of course, 80 is not only a special for us,
but special for, you know,
I know if we're an Irish man to say the other,
you know, the goats in the receiver room.
And so it's fun to be partnered with Jerry Rice on a statue
that's going to go outside.
I'm hoping that we can get it done and get it up for the year.
But we have a lot of other fun things planned
throughout the course of the season.
So continue to tune in.
Get your updates on the app.
Yeah, we all know because Kyle and team have talked about it.
We're playing the international home game.
So we got one fewer game on the schedule this year.
Well, we're going to go down to Mexico City and play that game.
But there's still going to be a lot of fun at Levi's.
There's a lot of other content that's going to happen at the stadium this year.
Of course, we got the the World Cup this summer,
which is hard to forget about that.
Hosting both the football and a World Cup in a calendar year.
So in and of itself,
it's going to be a busy call it next year-ish at Levi's.
All I got to follow up statue.
Did you just announce something here?
Oh, yeah.
I didn't know that it was new.
Well, I guess it is news.
You know, look, Jerry.
Jerry's been working with us.
As you guys know, we have the statue of the catch outside,
which we course we should have.
Number one player in FLA.
Absolutely.
Kyle met by all measures.
And Jerry and our team have been working together.
You know, we got we got to still work on whatever the pose is.
Got to be different than what's in the 49ers Museum and Hall of Fame,
which I know a lot of our fans go to on game day and non-game day.
But we thought it was appropriate.
Not just for the 80s season, frankly, but it's good timing.
That the 80 patch, that Jerry be so involved with the franchise.
It's such a big part of it for him to get a statue outside.
We look forward to obviously getting some feedback and where it should go
and what it should look like.
But fans should continue to tune in as to what we're going to do there.
That is awesome.
And obviously we're the only probably the greatest player in the history of football.
So that is great.
So well, 80 seasons number 80 celebrating looking forward to it now.
Can't wait.
Well, we'll definitely cover that as we get closer and closer.
But that's very cool.
Yeah, and now you mentioned the international games.
Now, I know you guys obviously don't want to lose a home game.
But you guys are also playing a row game down in Australia.
So from your perspective, from the front office perspective,
how big of a benefit do you guys view it as a potential opportunity
to grow the 49ers brand down in Australia and down in Mexico?
Well, you nailed it, Mark, because there's no doubt.
I mean, listen, you never, it's hard, right?
You have to have an international strategy in the national football league.
It's on our own fans.
We get it.
But we've also seen the benefit of having a global fan base when we go on the road.
Right now, I would argue that we're the globe team.
And if you look at us anytime we play a row game, anytime we play an international game,
we're always the lion's share of what happens in that stadium.
And that's a testament to the team, the testament to the guys that came before us.
I mean, we got 20 million plus global fans.
And so I've really seen this traumatic shift, as you guys know,
I've been here since 2010.
I mean, and the candlestick days were fantastic and the early lead up to Levi's.
But seeing where we're at right now in global fandom at home and on the road,
it's just astounding.
And so you do have to give up some home games and it is tough.
But I think the NFL does a good job trying to space these things out.
Now, you're right.
It's unique for us this year because we are playing two international games.
And we've worked really hard, but the national football league on scheduling,
it's never easy on our team.
I mean, that's just the reality of being a West Coast team.
I mean, we see it with all the other West Coast teams,
those supporters or giants in our market.
I mean, it's just being where we're at.
We have to travel quite a bit.
So the league has done a good job working with us on scheduling as to what it might look like in week two or in week three.
But, you know, this is something that the league is going to embark on.
I know Roger Gadellis made the statement that he wants to play 16-ish games.
And so guys, it's important.
I don't even think just for this year, but for moving forward,
what does the rest of the NFL schedule look like?
You know, this year, obviously, we're only talking about one buy,
but in the future, are we talking about multiple buys?
How does that work?
It's all really to be determined.
But when you have a nine-game regular season schedule,
currently, call it every other-ish year you wind up having to give up one of your home games and play it internationally.
I'm actually thrilled to get to go back to Mexico City.
It was such a great experience.
We're going to wind up probably training in Colorado Springs.
You're ready for that altitude down there.
But when we played the row game against the Cardinals,
it was great.
I know our players really liked it.
And so looking forward to getting back there.

Alguido, the CEO of the San Francisco 49ers,
talking to us about four,
nine day, the launch of the new 49ers app.
Go download it at the app store and the 80th season patch.
In Jerry Rice gets a statue for 80.
It's all pretty darn cool.
But immediately two weeks from today,
Al, we got a draft.
You guys usually do some sort of party.
So what do we got going?
Yeah, we'll have stuff down to leave us for sure.
Of the left eye and activations.
Throughout the course of the Bay Area.
Check that out.
I do your right.
We're from minutes.
It's always a fun day.
I mean, since the NFL broke it up over three nights,
and got round one, obviously on Thursday,
around two Friday and Saturday,
or around two and three Friday and Saturday.
It's four through seven on Saturday.
Sorry, around two and three on Friday,
around three through seven,
or four through seven on Saturday.
But we'll have fan activations throughout the week.
Really on call at night one.
There'll be a party down at Levi's and other places.
But excited.
There's always a good time to add to our roster.
I know John Kyle.
We just finished up local pro day.
Excited about all the visits that we have
and feeling good about our preparation.
And then now, I mean, listen, Super Bowl.
It was unfortunate that the Seahawks won.
But still, you guys pulled it off.
Congratulations.
We had a great time at Radio Rome,
Moscone Center, the city shined.
It was an incredible week.
And now we got the World Cup, dude.
So tell us a little recap on how you guys came through Super Bowl
and how you guys are getting ready for the World Cup
for the many, many, many, many international fans
that will be coming.
Well, I'm biased, guys, obviously.
But I thought Super Bowl 60 was just fantastic.
And of course, I know our fans are like any rival
or your disappointment to see the team win in the building.
But as it relates to our region shining,
I thought we did a fantastic job.
It was good that the one thing we couldn't control
with the weather was fantastic.
But look, Daniela Lorry, Mayor Lorry, Mayor May and obviously
the folks in Santa Clara really did a great job
and throughout open.
I mean, we did over $500 million of economic impact.
We built over 100,000 hotel rooms.
I thought Super Bowl 50 was really, really good.
I thought we really nailed this one for 60.
And I got that kind of feedback throughout our partners,
throughout all the restaurants, the hotels.
Obviously, the political support we got, Roger Cadill,
was thrilled with the Super Bowl.
You know, who knows when we'll fit on the next one to come back.
But we still want to be in that active rotation.
And then, yes, the World Cup.
You know, we have six matches.
They're going to be held down at Levi's.
I think when you combine the World Cup and Super Bowl
will do over a billion dollars of economic impact
just in that literally six month span for our region,
which I think always desperately needs it.
I'm proud.
I'm proud to be living on the West Coast.
And I thought the Warriors really showed us the way
and the NBA off-star game.
It was good to see Charles Barkley.
I have actually good San Francisco.
It's you and it's love.
And I think we continue that onto the Super Bowl.
That's great.
And congrats on your new title.
It's pretty awesome.
I'm going to go with a blatant personal plea here.
My kid is an eighth grader.
Shout out, young Rory is on that eighth grade
Washington DC New York City East Coast trip.
And today, their bus is taking them to Philadelphia.
Now, owls, a Philly guy.
I have a personal plea.
They're going to something called the Redding Terminal Market.
Where you're supposed to have great food.
Do you know about it out?
Oh, I sure do.
I want my favorite sandwiches in the world.
Connect.
OK.
You know, it depends.
You either go with the beef.
Provolone is broccoli robber.
You go pork.
Provolone broccoli robber.
But either way.
OK.
Because he's texting us from the bus
as they're getting in.
He's like, tell me what I should eat.
And I'm like, well, I got a guy from Philly on the phone
right now.
So and so to Nick's roast pork, then, huh?
Yep.
And broccoli robber.
Provolone, if you like.
And then if you get if you like sweet,
I think the simple term you brothers can only go figure the guy
with the last name of Guido.
That's you get a canoli.
But it's a great place.
OK, man.
Well, I I stole you for free advice there.
Thanks, buddy.
All right, now we'll look forward to seeing you
sometime soon.
Congrats on the new title.
And obviously, Super Bowl was a huge success.
World Cup's going to be gigantic.
And then, hey, 80th season, 80 year patch, Cherry Statue.
So no shortage of events and download the app.
So thanks out a good talk to you.
Yeah, thanks out.
Appreciate it, guys.
Algueda CEO of the San Francisco 49ers.
Yeah, it's funny.
During this text, I'm getting these text worries like,
what should I eat, mom and dad?
What should I eat?
Because this reading you've heard of this thing?
Oh, yeah, Kate Scott actually recommended that I go down there.
When I went, what did you get?
I went out there, actually sold out of the pork sandwich.
Oh, dude, it's all his bum.
So surprise, surprise.
I ended up getting a cheese steak.
Well, it's funny because Roy says, but I want a cheese steak.
But in but cana said, it looks like Tommy Denix has a famous roast pork sandwich.
And she read some Yelp review.
And then here's Alguedo, that's a local.
Yeah, I mean, how do you feel about a roast pork sandwich?
I'm down with the roast pork sandwich, but you know,
that is highly controversial on this show because one time in the pop culture show
you know, the Super Bowl two years ago, it rose pork on the menu.
That was in young Tony off script.
I'm like, Mark, this is your filly, you got to get the cheese steak.
That was that was one of the more,
uh, if I had to write like top 10, 15 moments where I wigged out.
It was one of my favorite young Tony moments.
It was young Tony deciding that the pop culture show and I,
which is driven by particles.
Yes, exactly.
And driven by forces larger than us that he decided to go off script.
Yeah, and he was to fight her about it.
Well, bro, it goes, dude, it's Philly.
You got to get a cheese steak.
On the cheese steak guy, you know what?
You guys just talking about it right now.
It's triggering me all over again, bro.
It's getting red.
I'm starting to get like, I'm starting to get pissed all over again.
So let's duck out of here right now.
Get a freaking roast pork.
If the pop culture show down, ask you if a roast pork sandwich.
I know what Rory gets today.
I'm very curious.
He wants a cheese steak sound like the cheese steak.
100% because Candice said there's a famous roast pork sandwich and he wrote back,
I want a cheese steak, which is the best because I've wanted to filly cheese
steak and Philadelphia for all.
I'm so excited, kids.
You can't tell them anything, Murf.
Oh, serenity now.
That may hope go next on these sports.
