本集介紹「二次元」這個名堂在中國大陸的發展史，以及它最大的吸引力兼缺陷之所在──它是一種「靈魂按摩」，一種對於現實的「輕反抗」，可以輕鬆參與、輕鬆過把癮的反抗。
「二次元」，台灣以前比較習慣的說法是「ACG」，就是日本出產的，或者日式風格的動畫anime、漫畫comic、遊戲game的合稱，這來源其實只是90年代一個BBS的討論板名；約定俗成以後，也有人再加上一個「N」，就是小說novel。但當然，並不是所有日式A、C、G、N都能算在「二次元」這個集合裡。例如你說《小叮噹》《七龍珠》這種國民級作品算不算「二次元」？它無疑算是ACG，但又不太算「二次元」，它太紅了。《島耕作》系列之類商業題材或《聖堂教父》那種黑道加政治題材的作品呢？也不算，太現實了。
