This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. Was that one, two, six, six, zero West Am? Unbelievable. I am buzzing with that. I cannot believe how well we played tonight. That was one of the, well, certainly for the best performance I've seen West Am put in a long time in terms of convincing throughout. I thought we were really, really good. It was a big night tonight and that was a statement win. There's made no mistake. That was a statement win. West Am six, six goals, Rex and Neil. I've not even really looked at the table, so I haven't seen the gold in them. I think we scored 20 goals in other seasons. I obviously backed up the league, but that is sensational. In fact, I'll tell you what, while I'm doing this, I'm going to look at the league table because I do need to know where we are. I just need to know because I'll need to answer those of the gold difference, things like that. I probably should check before I'm doing it now. Bear with me. Yeah, totally. Oh, wow. We're on gold difference,

plus 11, plus 11 goals. We played seven games. Bloody hell. That was a really, really impressive, really impressive West Am. I'm sure you'll be feeling the same as I am. This is a moment where I felt like we've arrived in the championship. This felt like a message to everybody else. I feel like it's sort of a brief that belief now into our season that we can get promoted. We can get one of those top two spots. I know people watching this think, don't get carried away. You're seven games into the season. There's a long way to go. I know that. I'm not naive to think that, oh, that's it. It's done. There's a long way to go this season, but that was a performance of a Premier League team. That was a performance of a team that you would expect to be in the, certainly one of the favorites now for promotion, because just in the manner where we've got about things is fantastic. Four wins as well on the bounce, which is in itself, when teams do that, you get that in the Premier League. If Arsenal, Warman, City go on a run where they win four games on the bounce, it's a message. It's like we are really in good form and we're getting, when we are

going for the title. That's what I felt like that, felt like that performance. I like for us today. It was really, really big. But I just want to go through the game itself. We had so many chances, first half, so many chances. It felt like I think there was a slight 10 minute period in the first half where we stepped off a little bit and Rexham had a little bit of the ball. I wasn't going to cause this much problems, but that was probably their best spell and probably the bit where I felt I was sitting off here and we should be trying to kill the game off, because it felt like it was going to be one of them games again where we should have been scoring goals, but we weren't taking our chances because Boeing hit the bar, which was a fantastic save by the goalkeeper. I've got to say the first half. The map of the plan was how we had a call and the map of the plan was great headed down. Well, it wasn't really. It was a free hit. I should have scored. I should have done better, but again, another day that would have gone in. It just started to feel like it was not going to go our way. I would say around the 20 minute mark, it felt a bit like this. This is going to be a team that's going to be difficult to break down because we just weren't quite clicking for us at that point. Then Peru also had a really big miss as well. Then we went to school at first goal,

which was a giant Boeing goal. It was an unbelievable, lovely build-up play. It was beautiful from West Ham and also it was a ball from Marata across to Marato. It was beautiful, really good. It was and by the way, I got a mention of Marato. He was fantastic tonight. There was some really big performance tonight and there's so many to go through, but I want to mention Marato because obviously he's only just joined the football club, came in at left back as well, which always, okay, I was already seeing him obviously feature previously for a brief spell and it looked okay, but I thought tonight he was fantastic, actually. They really, really well. Then we're going to get a second goal in the first half, which was a Peru goal. I've got to say this and I've been, my miss is well completely vouched for this. During the game, I was annoyed with Tatti for being too selfish. I said, I wish he would look up more. I wish he would stop being to selfish because there wasn't opportunity in the first half when he could have laid. I think it was Peru as well, sort of laid him in and he didn't. He'd side-to-side shot and it was just no good. I was frustrated, but I'll tell you what, for our second goal, he did the absolute opposite of that. He laid it on a

plate too and when I thought he was actually going to shoot, but he was unselfish and lovely finishing Peru, gets another goal from West, for West Ham now. I think that's the third since signing. So fantastic for him. The tune of that. We go into the halftime break. Really, I've got to be honest, boy, and I felt really happy. The first, I genuinely like that's the first time in a football match for quite a long time. I can't remember really the last time I felt this. That's how good it was. I've gone into halftime thinking, I'm actually really enjoying this. I'm actually enjoying watching West Ham play football. I'm enjoying the start of football. I'm enjoying the whole occasion of it. It just felt like it was a good night for West Ham and yeah, really, really happy. So come at the second half and then you always thinking, what's going to happen here? Are we going to carry on or are we going to start to sit off? Have we done the job done? Try and shut up shop sort of thing, not at all. Not at all. Three minutes in. Then we're we're three in a lap from Mavrapanos who scored from a Jarrah Barron corner. I just think this is going to be a way we score a lot of goals this season. Mavrapanos, he is lethal going forward.

Even for Premier League defenders, he is a handful. He's got to, because it's the way he times he's run, the way he attacks the ball, he's a big guide. I mean, he's a big target man. I just can't handle him. I think this league is struggling to handle that. Obviously, you've got them bowing with his corner taking his precision. It's just lethal. Three nil. It just felt like that was game over. I mean, I felt like it was game over at half time. Not to sound arrogant. I did feel quite comfortable. But that was just like, yeah, done. That was really well-industed. And then, um, sixty third minute. I've got to be honest. I've criticised him a little bit this season. Said he hasn't been at his best. And I think, I'm not standing by that, but I'll tell you what tonight for Karl Walsh, Peter's, I don't know where this performance came from him. He came on to Veltman by the way. I need to mention Veltman went off injured, which was a blow. That was the only negative tonight. Veltman went off injured. I hope it's not serious. But thankfully, it's come right ahead of a international break, but we've also got mil wall in the horizon. So it'd be nice to have him available. But look, I'm not going to

dwell on that. Let's talk about that. I'm hoping for this not serious, but Karl Walsh, Peter's, came on for him. Because I think the Veltman injury was, yeah, his first half, he came off like midway for the first half, but this break from Karl Walsh, Peter's the way he ran at the pitch, was really impressive, very quick as well. Very surprising. I don't know where it came from. He did it twice in the game as well. But anyway, he breaks through, lovely build up play for West Dan, full set of tatties. It's just a beautiful West Dan goal. It starts into the bottom corner, and it felt like a premier league level goal. A premier league side would have struggled to defend that. Then we go, is it five, five, Neil? I'm at five. Let's go to five. Jesus Christ. Kante. Well, times he's run perfectly. Fantastic breaks through on goal. One on one on a goalkeeper, and he just fires the shot, but he sort of coals it into the top roof of the net. It is a fantastic finish. One of them goal was it makes you realise, which of us will know of him, because he's so young and he's so raw. Sometimes you don't get to see that a lot of the time. You can see this talent.

There's a real, there is a player there just needs to get his consistency right of his performances, but bloody, that was a sensation. Go, Joe, well, there is some goals in that game that will be contenders not for gold, I'm not for the gold of the season. That could be one. That was really good. Then with nine minutes left to play at the normal time, a man of solubon gets a goal, 81st minute, lovely finish from him. Again, another player I want to mention, and I'm going to actually say he's my man of the match tonight, man of solubon. I thought he was absolutely sensational. I thought he was, I mean, there was some really good performance for Engels, played well again. Bowie was excellent. Everyone had a good pro at his best game for West Ham, and I've criticised him a little bit, and he's build up play and felt like he's better being close to the goal, but he dropped off deeper at times tonight. I've actually thought he'd handled it well, but I want to mention Solomon because he was excellent. Everything he did I don't think he really put a foot wrong in that game. He was just, he was fantastic, and he I'm glad he got these goals because he deserved it to cap off a brilliant night for West Ham, a brilliant night. We ain't had many of these for a long time, have we? That's,

be honest. I mean, Jesus, I mean, you're looking back to Prague, couldn't you really? The last time, not saying this is the same level as Prague, but in terms of enjoyment and fun, it's been such a miserable slog at last few years that these are the nights we've wanted. This is what we wanted from the championship. As a football club as a fan base, I think we've needed renegation deep down. It's been such a, it's been coming. We've been on that sort of that slope for some time, and I felt that this season was an opportunity to clear out, build a new team and just build some enjoyment back in the club, get some, you know, create some memories that are going to be, they're going to last us so we can carry forward and start to go into a new chapter. I'm not talking about ownership. I'm not talking about ownership in this video. I'm leaving it out, but that was a night like that. It felt like a big statement. It felt like a big moment in our season, actually. I'm feeling really good. And, you know, let's be honest now, every other championship club's thinking, oh, God, oh, no. Like, if you're a mere wall now, if you're a mere wall, well, you went too long ago, there were probably relishing play in West Ham, they said probably thinking now, it's a really crap time to play them.

Because we're in good form now. It's four wins on the spin. That's big. That's really big. That's top of the league. So look, and it's Friday, right? We've got a weekend ahead yet. A football and we can enjoy it. You don't get these many often. Is it? What's it? If bad boys are those weekends, what's the problem? Oh, I can't remember it anyway. I should remember everyone's going to comment on this and go, you idiots. I hope you're not remember. Colesburg. If Colesburg did weekends, did Friday nights, this one, this one, anyway, look, I've been talking for a lot of two minutes. That's not too bad. I've even decided to enjoy my alcohol-free punk. I've got a funny color because green screen punk, AF. That's I'm celebrating tonight. So that's my that's my treat. Because I wasn't a game of clear tonight, which was the same thing. And I'm gutted I wasn't there because that was just what what a fantastic night. And I'll tell you what, if you go over there and you're on your way home now watching this, like the safe travels I own look after yourself, I'll be back tomorrow. Have another video? Well, I probably want to wake up and talk about this game again. Yeah,

let's do that. Let's just talk about this game again. I might just, let's just do it. Maybe we'll just watch the whole game on the channel for an hour and a half and then talk about it. That sounds like a really good video. Anyway, I'll go, I love you, Olivia. Never give one. What or not? Come on, you idiots.
