Following the end of World War II, the world anticipated an ease in tensions amongst global powers, and with Nazi Germany eradicated, a hint of normality was on the horizon. However, a sequence of unprecedented events followed and the Cold War, the birthplace of the Nuclear Arms race and sophisticated networks of espionage, emerged.
