83. ChatGPT Founder Launches Own Cryptocurrency, WorldCoin. Why You Should Steer Clear.

Founder of ChatGPT Sam Altman has launched his own cryptocurrency, Worldcoin. It's perhaps the most controversial crypto launch we've ever seen. We cover why Worldcoin is so controversial, plus why I'm not touching this with a ten-foot pole. Worldcoin explained: Worldcoin is creating a system where humans can prove they’re human. It does this using biometric data, where Orbs scan people’s irises to verify their humanity. This data is encrypted inside a Worldcoin ID and its native WLD token is distributed to those who scan. The end goal is a network of digital IDs embedded into Worldcoin's network of financial products, services and, ultimately, a Universal Basic Income (UBI).
