4:04Actually, it gets me pumping in the morning. You know what, man? You need to go and check. The last, I don't know how many hundreds of years of history of the real world and how trade actually works. And then you'll know that the tariff policies are full hearty. And you'll understand why. I can't look at the economic history for you, sir, but you're welcome to do so yourself. But I'll say this. My point about Carney. So yesterday, by the way, good morning. Jimmy Sanginberger here with you. And trade is one of those issues that I wrote a paper on for a millennial policy center that I ran years back. Was it 2017? It might have even been.

5:06And I wrote a paper in college back circa 2010. About free trade and examining these sorts of issues. So it's a hot button for me. It's one of those handful of issues that I disagree with President Trump on and have from Trump have since before he even announced that he was running for President to the United States in 2015. Going back to what 2011 when he was flirting with a run in 2012. And the problem with President Trump's trade policy, as I a three time Trump voter see it, is that it is very sporadic. It is reactive. And it is not achieving the goals he purports to seek. I mean, gosh, he put pressure on Canada and Mexico for the USMCA

6:09in his first term. Right? In his first term, he made it happen to replace NAFTA. And then here we are. And he doesn't care about the USMCA and its mechanisms and stuff like that. He's going rogue. And in the midterms, I go, okay, dude, dude, you and I can have a disagreement on the trade issue. But the dumbest thing for President Trump to do is to take this initiative on the eve of the midterms. When the Republicans are already in a very perilous position and to say, hey, I'm going after our neighbors to the North, who most Americans are cool with Canada. They just are. And when President Trump decides to announce there's that, but there's even more the economic concern.

7:09Oh my gosh, I'm already struggling to make ends meet. And now we may see the increase in costs for me to make ends meet. President Trump has already dismissed affordability, which undercuts for Republicans and Democrat states. He's already dismissed that word. It's not good politics, even when you said aside, the fallacy of the trade issue. Now my comments about Mark Carney in terms of popularity are actually based in the reality of what's happening in Canada. And I know folks in Canada, I talk to. And the fact is that when the country Alexa guy and he's pretty new and the country feels aggrieved, like they're being targeted by another country, say the United States. And then you have things like even renaming Lake Ontario,

8:11which was named Ontario centuries before. And before Canada even named the province Ontario, it's an Eroquois name, that comes across people as sort of petty in that circumstance. And we have to be honest about it that if you're already in a sort of tense trade situation and you're lobbing tariffs back and forth. And you feel like you're under attack by somebody else and then they go, well, you know what, I'm also going to change this name and it comes across as petty. It doesn't help. The thing about conservatism is that we look at the world as it is not as we want it to be. And the fact is that politics are politics regardless.

9:11The same principles apply all over small, the democratic societies. Whether that's the United States, search Canada or the UK. The same kinds of principles apply. And when the president is signing an order to literally ban products from coming to the United States from an American ally, like there's no justification or excuse for that. He signed an order to ban many Canadian dairy products, alcohol, beverages, and motorcycles in three weeks. In retaliation to Canada, which retaliates to the United States. Who the hell does the United States president think he is? Just saying, I'm not going to allow these products in for American consumers to buy.

10:14Seriously, if Joe Biden did anything like this, we would have rightly gone, dude, this is an excess of presidential authority. What the heck you doing? But no, it's Donald Trump. So we're not supposed to criticize him even while simultaneously supporting him. Because look, the fact of the matter is that he's a hell of a lot better than Joe Biden was or than Tomah Harris ever could be. Certainly better than Hillary Clinton. I mean, I still remember when I had another station in a weekend show, was the first radio host in Denver to my knowledge, who said on the eve of the Republican National Convention in 2016, literally June of 2016, just before the RNC. And I was an alternate delegate for Ted Cruz to the RNC.

11:18And I said, I haven't been supportive of Trump. There were a couple of people in town who were on the radio, from Jumps, supportive of Trump. I was the first who wasn't supportive of Trump to say, we got a vote for him. It's time to do that. Because he's going to be the nominee, and Hillary Clinton's got to be defeated because Supreme Court. Number one, Supreme Court and look what we have. A five to three conservative majority. Does that mean that we agree with every decision? If you're a conservative, no, you're not going to agree with every decision. And frankly, that's how it's supposed to be. Even if the court at times will tick me off big time. That is a solid majority. And you look at the other federal courts. Same thing. President Trump did a remarkable job in that first term has done a second, a great job in his second term as well in filling a lot of these appointments. His

12:20domination of Dan Domenico to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, phenomenal choice. And the list goes on. But biggest thing for me in supporting President Trump and saying, look, I've been deeply opposed to him, but we got to get behind him. Was the Supreme Court was Hillary Clinton? And the litany of other policy things. And they said, look, I'm voting for Trump because it's necessary. And I did so again in 2020 and 2024, but I don't agree with everything that the President does. And that includes when he decides to take it upon himself to unilaterally ban products from an American ally or neighborhood in North Canada. It is dumb politics. And the number of texts that I got yesterday. The number of texts I got yesterday saying, I voted for Trump. And this ticks me off that he keeps

13:27doing this, filling the blank. I get that bad move. Now I have a text saying, I believe it's just the place to government purchases. No, it does not. This and it also modified some of the scope of his 50% tariffs. But it's broader than just the government. How many government motorcycles are the feds buying from Canada? How many beers are the feds buying from Canada? Not quite. By the way, for dairy, there's a lot of discussion about dairy. Oh, well, hey, now I agree with you on dairy. All right, I don't agree with you on dairy. Well, get this. Canada, why not? Because Canada has their quota. 200% tariff. Yeah. On a quota that's never met.

14:36Literally, the tariff doesn't apply to dairy going to Canada. But I need to digress this because the Guber got me starting about trade and trade was for later on in the program. Right now I was supposed to talk about how great Tom Homan is leading the charge to tackle a legal immigration across the country because of how he handled a left wing. I don't know, is this a reporter? Is this a YouTuber? I didn't look him up. I just know the guy's name is Luke Radell, RADL. Somebody wants to look him up and shoot me a text and say, this is what this guy's about. Let me know. I didn't care to do it because I was listening for Tom Homan answering this liberal guy who was pressing him on a legal immigration stuff. And I saw the left go, oh, he did such a great job. Is he even by your own violation of law? Should he be arrested in front of his 16 year old daughter at the school bus stop? I'm not aware of that. 17:52son at a school bus stop. That appears to be the case that he was actually talking about. More on that case in just a moment but what Tom Homan's going to say in here is you are not just going to be protected under the law. Like we're not going to give you some exception here if you have an American citizen kid or what have you but he was pressed more. Is there anywhere that I smoke arrest parents of children at the school and a hospital in a church? We arrested somebody at school at a school bus stop in bridge working at it. I arrested somebody at school. I'm asking is that a line for you? We have not arrested anybody at school no one's better arrested at church. No one's better arrested at a hospital. Would they be? So right there he's asked about a bus stop and is it okay to do an arrest bus stop and he asks is anyone been arrested at a school? Now that is the appropriate pivot because the fact is

18:52no no one has been arrested at a school anywhere in the country or a church or a hospital. And then of course he asks is that a line for you? In a hospital. Would they be? If you're a significant public safety threat and ask for security threat there is no sanctuary. But I point out to the fact that the agents are doing the right thing. You can't give me one example or someone's been arrested and those are there is no sanctuary for public safety threat and that's strange threat in this country. Even though we have not arrested anybody at school when I'm right by the church. What he's saying there is I'm not giving you a categorical no because if there is somebody who is a threat to the community a dangerous criminal that's the exception. But the role for ice is we don't go into schools this protected area. In fact last year February of 2025 I was in

19:57the courtroom when Judge Dan Domenico the aforementioned Trump nominee to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals hurt a case where Denver public schools went to them and said went to him and said hey judge we need a nationwide injunction on illegal immigration enforcement near schools. And their concerns included what were centered on. It rate that happened at an apartment complex near a school near a few schools. And ultimately the judge said look you can't prove to me that this would not have happened under the Biden administration. And I'm not giving a nationwide injunction. It's not called for for this school district to have me a lone judge issue a nationwide injunction. It's not appropriate. And you can't even point to me that that there was anything that has ever happened in the school because there isn't a rate that happened in the school or otherwise. And real quick he also was asked about prioritizing ice

21:01enforcement. I think the someone who's been in the country for 20 years has a 16 year old daughter the father in the community in Bridgeport, Connecticut are they a significant national security threat someone that I should prioritize arresting in a school bus stop. Are they national straight if they have no if we got no intelligence or not a national security threat. I've got no criminal history. The public state should know are they in the country lately? Yes. Under the United States law laws, you know, enacted by Congress signed by a president they were removable. Yes. If we find them would they be removed absolutely. And you have no problem arresting them in front of their daughter at a school bus stop. That's okay. I'm not aware of that incident bottom line is but if it was true. I have to come back to that here in a little bit because the whole bus stop thing is addressed by Judge Domenico in the case where he's like I can't qualify if there's so many bus stops everywhere. You can't exempt a bus stop from illegal immigration enforcement. They're all over. And so what what homin does here is he makes the point about the time period. Okay so this is a man who in 2005 came here illegally. He was adjudicated through due process.

22:07And that same year was found that he needed to be removed. He chose to stay in violation of federal law and then to have at least one kid years after being getting an order for removal. I'm sorry. The law the Trump administration is prioritizing criminals and then those that have already had their case heard and been ordered removed by a judge. So before we get into the book just tell us a little bit about yourself and your background and also what it was like writing a book when you have three kids in a crazy hectic schedule. That's a great question Jimmy when people are asking me

25:10hey where did you find time to write this book? I said hey I wrote it in my spare time and I always just say LOL right after that. I have three kids, a seven year old boy, four year old girl, six month old baby. I go to all of the sports for my kids so I'm doing baseball, soccer, basketball, not all at one time each at one time and I'm all in with my family and I'm all in with my work and my practice. I say this Jimmy you'd be surprised what you can do from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. when the house is silent and you're really really really focused and so that's when I wrote this book it came out of a conviction that a lot of the financial advice that's out there in the world it's just the hat and I'll I'll share a story in a minute with you about that but as far as just from background I'm a certified financial planner so does that mean it means you're an inch deep mile wide on all things personal finance pretty difficult designation to get and also a certified kingdom advisor and what does that mean that's the financial planning through a Christian worldview so been then sitting across the table from families for about 13 years learning their stories I've been I'm

26:12more inspired by the families that I sit across the table with more than anything at all and I just wanted an opportunity to share some of the beautiful stories of the positive things I've seen with people over this last journey with the world and that was one of the main reasons I wrote this book so talk to us a little more Tim Lewis about the why for the book in terms of uncommon wisdom and the title too what is uncommon about the wisdom in the financial world that you are lucidating on in the book sure if you go out looking modern day America the finances in this country are a mess it's a mess credit card debt record levels student loans record levels it it is insane when you look out there that the average person they don't we don't have the common wisdom and I'm not blaming people for not having that but they just don't a lot of people just don't know so if you practice sense if you practice good savings if you practice good stewardship generosity estate planning all of these things all of a sudden you've got some uncommon wisdom you're looking

27:14a little bit different than the rest of the pack so that was one of the reasons why I wrote this book noise out there in the world of the things that are telling us of whether it's these get I've heard so many people that have been roped into get rich quick type schemes guys under a faith lens or guys under a you know think of like a timeshare sales yeah right but like in the eyes of people saying hey you're a Christian I'm a Christian come come on over to my big event that I have I've got a big speaker you go to the event you go go see the big speaker and this is all true the stuff has really happened go to see the big speaker you enjoy the speaker it's been a wonderful presentation the speaker leaves a stage a reputable Christian speaker they leave the stage and then somebody else comes on stage and says hey first 20 people to sign up for our financial class after this presentation get a picture with said celebrity everybody signs up they do a three day class they're pitching 15 to 35 thousand dollar packages for options trading classes and real estate speculation trading class and they're entering this all

28:19under the lens of Christian's your chip so that's that's what I thought man that is just that is not there you cannot find the Bible advising get rich quick schemes at all anywhere it's once against it and I thought you know what what I can do to calm that what's going on out there for the people that are getting taken advantage of they're getting tricked into these things and getting shackled by this debt I can I can have a message with the book that's not going to be very expensive that someone got this book into their hands maybe just maybe they know what to do in a situation like that comes again that's the reason why wrote this book you know there's a lot of residents these days and in the political world where as you well know even back from our college days at Regis University is where I swim in those waters quite a bit and there is a lot of the this attitude of hey do this support this cause because it fits with religious and religious notions and religious faith and you need to do this and it is oftentimes the charlatans that are doing

32:36k o a and earlier in the hour we were talking about Tom homin the really the champion of enforcing the law when it comes to illegal immigration the guy who president trump has tapped to basically oversee these things and he was killed by some reporter from some lefty outlet over a situation of an arrest by ice of a father at a bus stop of his 16 year old child now there's this whole thing about well should you be doing this and Tom homin first of all he's brilliant he always goes back to the core message are they here illegally did they break the law am I going to give an exception because they have an American citizen child absolutely not

33:40and he kept coming back to that and he made the point he drilled in ice is not done and arrested a school has it listened to this would they be wrong starting point here we go is there anywhere that ice won't arrest parents of children at the school and a hospital we arrested somebody at school at school bus stop in bridge working at the rest of somebody at school I'm asking is that a line for you we have not arrested anybody in school no one's better resident church no one's better resident hospital would they be and then he goes on to talk about well if there are a threat to the community sure because that's the one exception otherwise no there isn't any rest the guy asked the question has there ever been an arrest at a school or hospital and he's like no there hasn't been although but but at the school bus stop there's and there's a total difference in that regard because a bus stop is not a school property and there are bus stops everywhere I remember in this case I talked about 2025 February DPS Denver public schools

34:47suz the Department of Homeland Security saying we want to stop ice enforcement and I think that hearing was in March ice enforcement near schools and the judge through the amount saying you basically you don't have the case here you can't even show me that what happened at a raid in an apartment near school wouldn't have happened under Biden so I'm not going to do a nationwide injunction but around that time I quoted former deputy ice former ice Denver ice field director John fabricatory who told me if DPS gets a sway it will triple operations 217 schools plus bus stops and anywhere near a school which shut ice down because these locations are all over the city think about bus stops and this is the point that judge Daniel Domenico made in the court hearing at the time all the bus stops that are in the city you can't say at or near a bus stop

35:52I'm not going to allow enforcement you literally that is impossible with the number of bus stops everywhere heck there are bus stops right outside of apartment complexes at the corner of a neighborhood right over there dragons pointed over there you can't see over there but I can see over there and there's a bus stop over there take my word for it like you can't do that is it like an old game of tag where you just run to the nearest face on face yes exactly you can't do that and this is one instance this guy pulls out from me although we act like it just happened last week and then the last thing I made this point before bears repeating Tom Homan makes the point that I'm going to enforce the law right and the prioritization question is important the Trump administration is prioritizing two groups criminals who commit crimes or are safety public

36:53safety threats for deportation and number two those who have already been before a judge and had their case adjudicated had due process in place and this guy this father who was arrested by ICE had his case heard and orders for removal 21 years ago in 2005 I'm sorry you don't get to say well now I get to stay because I got a kid who's 16 who was born five years after I got my orders for deportation heard before a judge oh my goodness the world is a crazy place we're going to talk with Lindsey that go and Jeff go kids first in the next hour about the crate some craziness in Jeff Coast schools but some good things their chief counsel their lawyer for the school district is retiring fully that would happen in Denver public schools too is there a guy's got to go we'll
