No: Oslo Operaen var en perle ved fjorden, nesten som et kunstverk i seg selv.
En: The Oslo Operaen was a jewel by the fjord, almost a work of art in itself.
No: Inne, fylt med forventningsfulle gjester i fine klær, kunne man kjenne en kriblende spenning i luften.
En: Inside, filled with expectant guests in fine clothes, one could feel a tingling excitement in the air.
No: Blant dem satt Elin og Sander, to gode venner på en sjelden sommerkveld.
En: Among them sat Elin and Sander, two good friends on a rare summer evening.
No: Elin var spent.
En: Elin was excited.
No: Hun elsket opera og gledet seg til å oppleve Astrids store opptreden.
En: She loved opera and looked forward to experiencing Astrid's big performance.
No: Forestillingen begynte, og musikken fylte salen.
En: The show began, and music filled the hall.
No: Men plutselig ble alt mørkt.
En: But suddenly everything went dark.

En: "Yes, I know the opera house well," answered Elin.
No: Motvillig nikket Sander, vel vitende om at han ikke kunne stoppe henne.
En: Reluctantly, Sander nodded, knowing he couldn't stop her.
No: Elin beveget seg forsiktig gjennom de mørke korridorene.
En: Elin moved cautiously through the dark corridors.
No: Hun hadde alltid likt å gå på omvisninger og visste nå hvor bakrommene lå.
En: She had always liked taking tours and now knew where the backstage areas were.
No: Da hun kom bak scenen, fant hun Astrid.
En: When she got behind the stage, she found Astrid.
No: Hun sto stille, som fryst av redsel.
En: She stood still, frozen with fear.
No: "Astrid, det er Elin.
En: "Astrid, it's Elin.
No: Jeg beundrer deg virkelig, og jeg vet du kan klare dette," sa Elin med en rolig stemme.
En: I really admire you, and I know you can do this," said Elin in a calm voice.
No: Astrid pustet tungt, men Elins ord brakte litt lys i mørket.
En: Astrid was breathing heavily, but Elin's words brought a little light into the darkness.
No: "Hva om jeg glemmer alt?
En: "What if I forget everything?"
No: " hvisket Astrid.
En: whispered Astrid.
No: "Jeg tror på deg, og det gjør publikum også.
En: "I believe in you, and so does the audience.
No: Se for deg lyset og fortsett," oppmuntret Elin.
En: Picture the light and go on," encouraged Elin.
No: Akkurat da summet det i veggene – lyset kom sakte tilbake.
En: Just then, there was a humming in the walls – the lights slowly came back on.
No: Publikum begynte å klappe, og Astrid nikket mot Elin før hun trakk pusten og sang videre.
En: The audience began to clap, and Astrid nodded toward Elin before she took a breath and continued to sing.
No: Hennes stemme var sterk og trygg.
En: Her voice was strong and confident.
No: Hun fikk stående applaus.
En: She received a standing ovation.
