Today is the deadline for NYU Langone Hospital to resume gender affirming care for transgender youth,
or face possible legal trouble from the state.
NYU's Langone stopped offering gender affirming care after threats from the Trump administration
that its federal funding would be cut off.
But New York Attorney General Leticia James said NYU's move violated state human rights law
and gave them until March 11th to resume the procedures today.
We've reached out to the hospital for comments and we're waiting to hear back.
The NYPD is asking for help identifying a woman found in Brooklyn over a month ago.
She was discovered by EMS on January 30th in East New York, near Atlantic and Pickkin avenues.

A new report from state comptroller Tom DeNapole is taking a closer look at how the city
is handling the increase in people living on sheltered and how much it's spending to address that.
DeNapole says New York provides shelter to about 97% of its homeless population.
And that's a number higher than most other major cities.
It's almost double that of Los Angeles.
Deputy state controller Rahul Jane tells 1010Winds that's largely because the city's unique policy
requiring it to provide emergency shelter to those who ask for it.
The total homeless population is larger than Los Angeles.
It's the unsheltered population, the folks who are not in a shelter that is much smaller.
And I think that is a function number one, of course, of the fact that the city has a right to shelter.
While outreach has increased, the report calls on the city and DHS to increase data on unhoused New Yorkers
who are engaged by outreach and refuse it to track outcomes for people who do accept help
and to provide metrics on contract performance and show unit costs for hotels,
low barrier beds, drop-in centers, and other shelter options.
A settlement for one long beach man who sued his city after being ordered to remove pro-Trump flags.
The flags with some profanities on them directed at former President Biden were flying on public property near his boardwalk apartment.
Michael Wasserman was ticketed back in 2021 after refusing to take them down.
He later filed the federal lawsuit claiming it violated his First Amendment rights.
Wasserman was seeking $25 million, but tentatively agreed to settle the case for about 50 grand.
A final settlement is expected in April.
There is no formal government estimate of how widespread scams are in this country,
but Americans are losing at least $119 billion every year to scams,
according to a consumer advocacy group.
The FBI says their estimate is only about $16 billion in losses, but they admit that's probably much lower than the actual number,
because people don't want to admit or report that they lost money to a scam.
The Consumer Federation of America looked at how many scams go unreported and found that only 14% are told to the authorities,
and they say they're $119 billion in losses, that's a conservative estimate.
With that, New York State lawmakers are announcing, first in the nation legislation to hold social media and AI companies accountable.
State Senator Andrew Gunard is sponsoring the bill alongside Assemblymember Alex Boris.
An online platform has to be able to verify that an advertiser actually exists.
They have to have a real name or organization name.
They have to have a physical address.
There has to be a phone number.
There has to be some type of tax ID or other type of financial identification,
so you know exactly who you're dealing with.
Gunard says that when other places like Taiwan instituted these things, online fraud dropped 96%.
