A Reflection For When Getting What We Wanted Isn’t Enough

Sometimes we get everything we ever thought we wanted, but still feel empty.

We paid the price and are left to wonder, is this really all there is?

Now we know what Jesus meant when he asked, “For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life?” — from Matthew 16:26

It turns out that it’s not what we accomplish or accumulate that brings us ultimate satisfaction.

We find our greatest meaning in the fellowship of the people we travel with, while serving the people we travel for.

I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
