A Reflection For When We Don’t Know How To Forgive
About this episode
A Reflection For When We Don’t Know How To Forgive
Sometimes we don’t know how, or even if, we should forgive someone.
Like Peter, we feel like seven times is way more than enough. — from Matthew 18:21
We struggle because we think forgiveness means we have to keep letting someone hurt us. It does not. Nor does it necessarily mean we reconcile.
It does mean that we let go of our anger and bitterness. And when we seek accountability, we do so without a desire for revenge or retribution.
We desire genuine wellbeing for everyone, even our enemies. And we’ll even be a blessing to them if we can.
