In the wake of clock gate, what are your best suggestions or maybe suggestions you've heard to help fix the vulnerabilities in the system that led to all this controversy? Okay, this story is amazing because I've spent much of my week digging into what the hell happened. Nobody gave us a thought before Saturday night. I reached out to Michigan. I reached out to the big 10 and I use sources from other conferences. The best system money can buy is the Hawkeye system. The NFL has implemented it and the big 10 build a state of the art review center that rivals the NFL and implemented the Hawkeye system. There is a mix reporting on whether the SEC has it or not, but not everybody does, but even the Hawkeye system has its vulnerabilities as we've seen. And one of the problems is when you sync up the broadcast with reality and overlay video,

1:01according to the guy who runs the ACC network as long as you are putting graphics over live video, there are going to be delay issues. With that said, should you use the system that the NFL uses, which is apparently currently the best that money can buy? Or should you go with a standard system that all conferences can adhere to because not everybody has the Hawkeye system? Conference is responsible for their own review systems and their own officials. But again, there's no uniformity across the board. What the NCAA announced that they're going to use the TV feed now is fine, I guess, but that means the big 10 it has to shelf what they've been using, which is what the NFL uses. So I just wish every conference would just get the best system the money can buy, the one the NFL uses. Well, I think what they've got, the decision now to go with the scoreboard slash TV, timer or clock, I think that's the way it should be. And so that's actually was a suggestion

2:03that the NCAA had to officials anyway. It's like this is what we recommend you use. It just makes all the sense of world everybody is on the same page, you're watching on TV, you know what the clock is, you're watching it at the stadium, you know where the clock is. It shouldn't be that difficult to go with. The problem I had with what happened on Saturday is that you had a stoppage at nine seconds and the official literally said, hey, game clock operator, can you reset the clock to nine seconds? If things can't be synced up for nine seconds, then your system is screwed up. So just go with what you have. On top of that, when you have a situation like you did, why not explain to the people, the 100,000 people that are there or whatever it was, 90,000 at that point, explain to them what you guys just talked about because all you did was come back and say, hey, we're putting a second back on the clock. Well, why are you putting a second back on the clock? Because the video you released two hours later explains in pretty good detail of why you made your decision whether people agree with it or not,

3:04but I think that they're getting to the right thing to do, which is what everybody sees. Yeah, I'm not sure there's an ultimate fix. I mean, when you feel like you got to take an advantage of a rob, no explanation whether it's true or not, it's gonna take that feeling away. You know what I mean, you already feel like, hey, I've been done wrong here. My only suggestion, I guess, one or two of its suggestions. One is you have to immediately release that video or audio of the officials talking right away. You cannot wait till a day later. You gotta do that right away. And number two is if you can use any clock, it has to be the clock on the field because that's what the players are going by. Who cares about the TV at home crowd? I want that to be synced up with the clock on the field too. It don't get me wrong, but the one on the field should be the ultimate because that's what the players are using. That's what the coaches are using. That's what the referees and officials are using. That's the clock that has to be the ultimate say. One other easy thing is just to add decimal points too, but sorry. All right, both boys in Western Michigan lost to ranked teams. Should either or both be ranked in the top 25 despite losing?

4:07They, I'm pretty sure they both should not be, but I'll make the case for Western. I mean, they had the lead when the clock hit all zeros. So they thought that they had won the game. And in some cases, they had won the game, but it's not gonna be overturned. They confounded the Wolverines after the first drive of the game. Michigan got nothing going whatsoever. Whereas if you look at the Boise state Oregon game, I mean, Oregon, the doubling them up in the second half, they outscrewed, I think, 20 to 10 in the second half of that game. So because of that, I kind of ruled out Boise. Boise had their chance and let it slip away to second half. They were dominated. But Western played with Michigan and played better than Michigan. It didn't make the mistakes. It didn't turn the ball over. They didn't commit the dumb penalties. They took what was there, which was a bunch of field goals. And they thought they had knocked off the Michigan Wolverines. That's the case to be made from being in the top 25, even though you lost. Of course, they should be ranked. I think the wins and losses doesn't necessarily tell you how good you are

5:08compared to everybody else. Not only should Boise be ranked, Western should be ranked, Louisville should be ranked. And Boise, they're mad about non-pass interference calls that would have continued their final drive and take number five Oregon or number six Oregon into overtime. If you're the eyeball test, just because you played up a level and both of them were punching up Boise and Western and Louisville to an extent, just because you punched up and lost, doesn't mean you're not one of the top 25 teams in the country. And interestingly enough, Boise travels to Kalamazoo at the end of the month. It's crazy. Well, I definitely don't think Western should be ranked because they lost to Michigan who is not ranked. So to me, it'd be weird if one team was one and all against that team who was all in one and the own one team is ranked and the one and all team is not ranked. So that's weird. To me, Boise, they have a little bit better case, but I would still leave them out. The only team that hasn't won again that is ranked is Louisville, but they're ranked higher and they dropped in the rankings. And so that makes more sense to me though, but as far as Western and Boise's concern,

6:11neither team should be ranked. All right. Ohio State is favored by one and a half points at Texas. Which side do you like here? Okay, Gator, you've seen me in this position before. I root for Big Ten supremacy and in this game, even yes, Ohio State, but I also enjoy it when they lose. If that makes any sense. These are facts, yeah. Both these teams overwhelmed underman opponents in week one. It's hard to choose. In fact, there's not much to choose between these two teams. And this is the simplest of football analysis. I'm taking the home team, Texas. I understand that. Look, I like the book, guys. I think they have the better roster. It's going to be close. It should be close though. Texas does have that home field advantage, which it does matter. But the long horns seem like when you look at the box score afterwards in the game against Texas State, they give a bunch of yards last week. And Texas State was actually pretty efficient in throwing the football as well. So worry about that past defense. That's Texas State. It's not Ohio State. Ohio State's coming at you with an experienced quarterback and the best receiver.

7:13If not the best player in the country, it's a whole other different animal they're going to have to deal with. I think it's going to show why Ohio State's the top dog in college football. Great early season match up here. I think the key to the game is going to be the line of scrimmage. I like the buck ice to win the line of scrimmage. So ultimately, I like the buck ice to win the game. After an early 45 yard run versus Texas, Texas State had, I'm sorry, Texas had versus Texas State. They only had 111 yards rushing the rest of the way. Ain't going to be, you know, it's going to be a lot harder against Ohio State than it is against Texas Tech. I expect Patricia and the defense to out duel must champion Texas's defense. Both teams have offense of power, obviously. But in the end, I think Texas struggles more to score points like Ohio State. All right, Lane Kiffin. Is he good or bad for college football? I think he's great for college football. He's exactly what we need. This guy should wear a black cape. He is the villain that we all need to hate. He'd be the perfect professional wrestling heel manager.

8:15And he's entertaining as hell. All that said, I can't stand him. I can't stand what he did in leaving Ole Miss to get to LSU. I can't stand what he's done with this whole roster manipulation thing. I can't stand that he's always leaving a one program for the next best thing. He's got FOMO worse than anybody else I've ever seen. However, he's also one hell of a coach. He pushes the envelope to the edge and begon, just like Jim Hobbaw used to do. But he doesn't leave a trail of embarrassment in his wake. He's operating within the rules as far as he knows. And look, he can coach a roster, that's for sure. I would argue strongly he is leaving a trail of embarrassment in his wake. And I also think I would never let my kid play for this chud. I mean, honestly, as a leader of young men acting this way, he sets a terrible example. He's not respectable at all. And quite frankly, I think he's terrible for college football. Short term interest, yeah, but I don't want to wrestling heel coaching my football team. He's ultimately good for college football.

9:17I agree with you. Sports is entertainment. And in the entertainment business, you need storylines. You need heroes. You need villains. Lane Kiffin is the perfect villain. Cheer or boo, just don't stand there and do nothing. This is what advertisers and TV execs want. That's why they love rankings. Rankings before the preseason, before the season starts, they mean nothing. But it gets the people going. And it's just another way for them to talk about the game. They can advertise it more. All right. Is the SEC taking things too far with LSU by threatening expulsion? I mean, it worked. All right. I'm not in the trenches with this story, but LSU opted not to add the players to their roster today. And it's their final roster. So I don't think they were taking it too far. They were trying to control the members in their conference. And they said, LSU, if you want to be in our conference, you follow our rules period. So it worked. And I don't think they took it too far. It worked. But I'm glad they didn't get to the expulsion part because I thought this is all about timing

10:18when it comes with this. The threat and the timing just didn't sync up. If this had been a couple months ago, I thought that they could have thrown that threat out and gotten something done. But eventually this does work here. Some of the circumstances different before than what they are right now. So I thought that the expulsion was like an atom bomb that you're throwing at them when they didn't need to do that. You just need to impose fines or suspensions on LSU to get them to conform. But they chose the latter and it did work out. It definitely felt extreme when I read about it right away, but they were done. They didn't want it like it's enough. We're using it now. We're using our Trump card right now. And it worked. But going back to entertainment storylines, I would have loved to see an LSU get kicked on, joined the big 10. I don't know if it's done though. That's never been. We see a lot of power brokers in politics that are all lining up right now on back in LSU and I hope this doesn't rear its ugly head. And next thing, we're litigating it again and we're talking about a roster manipulation

11:22for next week's game. All right. The two teams that played for the national title Miami and Indiana, they both replaced their quarterbacks and they didn't lose a beat who is more likely to get back to the national title game. Well, it's all going to come down to injuries in which team is healthier because that's just how things go. That being said, I'm going to bank on Miami getting back to the, to the championship game because of their schedule. They only have Notre Dame really to worry about. Whereas the Hoosiers have Ohio State, USC in Washington is ranked foes. And if they weren't to play each other to play off, so I think that's a different ballgame. They play each other. I like Indiana because I think Signetti's an awesome coach and I don't think much of Miami's coach, but because of the ease of getting to where they have to be, I think it's going to be Miami. Signetti greater than Christopher. But Miami looks like a wagon. You mentioned the easier schedule. And Darian Mensa to Malachi Tony is a connection that might be unstoppable. 12 catches on 13 targets for 234 yards and Mensa went 27 of 30 through the air against

12:27a better opponent than Indiana played early read on this one, Miami. Yes. Signetti over crystal ball all day, but I've got a fever and the only fever and only cure for this fever is Mally Mensa.
