It's March 20th for the NFL. Let's get into it.
Giants' ed rusher Abdul Carter is switching his jersey number again for the upcoming season.
The second-year player will now wear number 3 after sporting number 51 as a rookie.
The team made the announcement on Friday.
That number 3 spot opened up because it belonged to quarterback Russell Wilson last year.
Wilson hit free agency and won't be back with New York.
Carter came to the Giants as the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
He's been chasing the perfect number from the start, first eyeing the retired number 56
worn by Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor.
He got turned down there, then pushed for number 11 from his Penn State days.
That one's retire for Phil Sims, who initially agreed but backed off after family pushback.
Carter never fully warmed up to number 51.
So this change to number 3 could be the fit he's seeking as training camp nears.
