AJ Epenesa Signs with Browns, Bills Rebuild Defense

A former Buffalo Bill's defensive end has landed a new gig, AJ.

Epinisa, a 27-year-old second-round pick, is signing a one-year deal worth up to $5 million

with the Cleveland Browns.

Epinisa's been all six of his NFL seasons with Buffalo after they drafted him 54th overall

out of Iowa in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played in 91 regular season games with 19 starts,

racking up 135 tackles, 24 sacks, and 29 tackles for loss.

His best years came from 2022 to 2024 when he notched 19 sacks, including six and a half

and back-to-back seasons. That production dropped last year with just two and a half sacks

in 16 games, though he still grabbed two interceptions and showed skill. Deflecting passes,

this marched the second time he's hit free agency after Buffalo resigned him to a two-year,

$12 million deal in 2024. Meanwhile, the bills are rebuilding their defense,

having just added edge rusher Bradley Chubb on a $3.43.5 million contract last week.
