Now, let us move to number 63, which is YAH KAYYUM. YAH KAYYUM means the sustainer. KAYYUM comes
from the concept of kiyam. And that means like kawwamun, that that word comes from the same thing,
which means to take care of something, to stand up and take responsibility, to get up and fulfill
the obligation that's on you. KAYYUM is an intensive form of that, the one who is the full
sub-sustainer and who's also the self-subsisting. Allahu la ilaha illaahu al-hayyul kayyum. So al-hayy
and kayyum come together even in the 99 names as it does in the Quran in this context. So the self-subsisting
one, he doesn't need anybody else to subsist, but everything is subsisted by him. So that's the kayyum.
Now, you can see that there's going to be many places where you can use this. So number one,
during personal struggles, when feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, one may invoke yakayyum,
yakayyum, yakayyum to seek strength, reminding oneself that Allah is the one who sustains
all creation, gives energy, gives ability to all creation, and he can also grant me, if he gives
the whole world and everything in this world, ability to sustain itself, because Allah gives it
that. Why can't he help me? So with that focus in mind, yakayyum, yakayyum. Number two,
in times of loneliness, when feeling isolated or alone, ya Allah, when feeling isolated or alone,
nobody's there around you to assist you, help you, you seem, you feel that you have been forsaken,
yakayyum, yakayyum can help one remember that Allah is ever present and sustaining them even in
solitude. Number three, seeking daily provisions, when worried about livelihood or daily sustenance,
family is getting bigger, my parents are telling me to get a job, I can't get a decent job,
it doesn't pay enough, I'm trying my best, when may yakayyum, yakayyum for provision,
given that he sustains life, because he is the one who causes everything else to subsist,
so why can't he help me a small person? Number four is during meditation or contemplation,
reflecting on the intricacies of life and the universe, yakayyum, yakayyum, recognizing Allah
as the constant sustainer of all existence, so it's almost like a statement of thanks, of gratitude,
yakayyum, you've given me everything, you take care of everything, so it's just a reflective one
praising Allah, yakayyum, just like yahamidus. How can you do all of this?
He doesn't need a partner in any of this, he does it himself. Number five, professional projects,
before embarking on a new business venture or project, one may call on yakayyum to ensure
its continuity, stability and success because only Allah can provide that ability and that strength.
Professional projects, before embarking on a new business venture or project, one may call on
Ya Qayyum to ensure its continuity, stability and success. I think we've just read that twice.
Number six is health concerns in situations of illness or when hoping for continued health,
invoking Ya Qayyum serves as a prayer for well-being because ultimately it all comes from
sustaining life and health. Number seven in academic endeavors, students may call upon Ya Qayyum
and seeking concentration, persistence and stamina to sustain their studies and achieve their goals.
Number eight may be maintaining relationships. If one feels that a relationship with a family
or otherwise is faltering, they can call on Ya Qayyum to sustain and nurture the want
and environmental conscious. We've had quite a few environmental conscious ones in these ones
because in activities related to environmental preservation, Ya Qayyum, Ya Qayyum invoking
himself as a reminder that Allah is the ultimate sustainer of the environment, all that exists
within it. We're just doing our little part, but Ya Allah, help us and assist us.
And finally, during economic downturn, you're struggling with sustenance.
In times of economic instability, business owners and employees alike can invoke the name of Ya Qayyum,
seeking stability, continuity and growth in their professional and economic endeavors.
