"Another Amazing First" by Steve Adams
While working near Johannesburg, South Africa, we found ourselves slaving over some R&D machines. When we did have a day off, we got as much rest as we could and tried to schedule in some fun as well.
One weekend, we found ourselves at a Theme Park named Gold Reef City. It was here that I experienced yet another amazing first. We stood our place in line and eventually were invited in to the ride. Mike and I looked at each other and grinned as we walked forward, boarded the aircraft and strapped in.
After a short safety talk, the engines spooled up and the whole airframe, passengers included, shook with anticipation. Seconds later, we experienced the most surreal sensation of stationary floating. Mike and I were ecstatic, but the very next sensation was the front of the aircraft falling and the start of forward momentum.
