I'm Marcella Sanchez with an AP News Minute. Diesel has hit a new record price in the U.S. soaring to an average of $5.85 a gallon for the first time ever. As the six month long war, with Iran continues to disrupt the world's flow of fuel. I wouldn't call it a war. Right now there is no active shooting. I recognize there have been places where this has flared up. Major combat operations, again, major combat operations lasted for about six weeks. Vice President JD Vance is rejecting the use of the word war to describe the fighting between the U.S. and Iran. During a White House press briefing yesterday, he was asked whether the fighting could end before voters cast their ballots. And then November 3rd congressional elections. His comments came even as Iran fired at U.S. Gulf ally Kuwait yesterday, as it continues to retaliate for rounds of U.S. strikes on Iran earlier this week. More stories at APNews.com.
