Iran has dismissed an American plan to pause the war,
issuing its own counter-proposal.
The AP's John Gambrell is in Dubai.

for right now, and we've seen drones and missiles
target Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

attacked it by the Trump administration.

That division would be key in launching attacks
on airfields, or potentially islands in the Persian Gulf.
There's been discussions about the United States
potentially seizing Carg Island, which
is Iran's main oil terminal.
U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres
says the war needs to end now.
The world is staring down the barrel of a weather war,
rising tide of human suffering,
and a deeper global economic shock.
This has gone too far.
The U.S. submitted a 15-point proposal.
