I'm Ben Thomas with the NAP News Minute.
It's gotten great reviews, people love it, and presidents for 150 years have wanted this
ballroom to be built because when we have president Xi or other presidents or prime ministers
coming, we don't have a big room, we have the East Room.
President Trump Tuesday, after a legal set back to his White House ballroom project,
but Lisa Dwyer reports he just got a win.
President Trump's new ballroom has won final approval from the National Capital Planning
Commission. That approval comes after a federal judge ordered a halt to construction,
and thus Congress approves the project.
The Planning Commission says the agency moved ahead on the vote because the judge's ruling
affects construction activities, not planning. Despite the agency's approval,
however, the judge's ruling and the legal fight over the ballroom could stall progress on a
legacy project that Trump is racing to see completed before the end of his term in early 2029.
