I'm Ben Thomas with an AP News Minute. The European Climate Service Copernicus says Earth just sweltered through its hottest month ever. Temperatures average just above 62 and a half degrees Fahrenheit in August, matching the all-time mark set in July 2023. This summer is also the warmer summer and record so we've seen an exceptional few months. Samantha Burgess with Copernicus. Every fraction of a degree of warming increases the likelihood of extremes becoming more intense, more frequent, and longer lasting. A reflection.
