1:01Big show and wait a little help getting started in the morning. Very dangerous. They've got the experts. So no. Toucher and hearty. No, on the sports hub. Let's go around the NFL here on this Friday morning on Toucher and hearty. Andy heart is him with us. You like football, don't you Andy? Love it. Okay, this will be fun. John Wallick is going to take us around the NFL. John, where do we start? We start with the Tennessee Titans and their quarterback, Cam Ward. We all know he was the overall number one pick in the 2025 draft. He went on to start all 17 games. And in those 17 games, he threw a total of 15 touchdown passes. And I don't know if you know, but they were pretty bad last year. They won three games last season. Then last week he followed that up by throwing on 442 yards and a 23 10 home loss to the jets. That's not good. They host Philadelphia this weekend. That's not good. Yeah, Philadelphia is pretty good football team. Well, it appears now that the Titans media has had enough of him.

2:04This is an answer from impressed conference yesterday. It is a little long, but you need to listen to the first answer to kind of set up the question that follows it. So let's listen then. I think, you know, I'm a very good quarterback. You know, I think I do a lot of things, you know, different than a lot of quarterbacks can't do. And it's also stuff that you don't have to get better at as, you know, some things that I lack. That's the process that you take on each and every day. I have great coaches around me to continue to push me to that level that I want to play it. And when, you know, the the tie turns, you know, I'm pretty sure he knows going to be a different story. All right. So that's the answer of a question that doesn't matter. Now things get very, very interesting. Very good. And it was a question of back up better results than you're having. Is it okay? Doesn't a very good NFL quarterback have better results than you have? That's, that's pretty savage. No? Yeah. That's go for the knockout rather direct from a guy who's seen a lot of losing football. What's the gentleman's name? I asked that question Paul Kakarski. Yeah. And he's been around. He's like the parallel. He's like the statler of Waldorf and upset at everything.

3:05Yes. But he is also on the panel mind list in terms of the Patriots calm. Yeah. Pretty much screwed us on the pregame social back in the hearty days when we had him on as a guest. And we always asked as we did with the gentleman from Pittsburgh, you asked for a pick. Right. And he went on this whole thing. He works for an independent website that he started himself. And the first thing I told myself when I started, I'm never going to pick a game again that's stupid. So he wouldn't give us a pick. He wouldn't pick the game. What an ego media. What a dink. So you're a camoran. You've just been asked this question. How do you respond to this? And before I play this, how do you think you've responded to this? Okay. So the, he said in the initial answer, I think I'm a very good quarterback in the NFL. I can do things that other quarterbacks can't do. The question then is, wouldn't a really good quarterback in the NFL have better results? Correct. Let me think. Let me put myself in camoran shoes here. Other than wanting to reach over the title and throttle the guy.

4:05Let's roll play it here. I'll be camoran. Do you ask me the question? Don't you think that, you know, based on what you just said, your numbers would be better than they are? No. I like to expand on that. No, no, no. I know. I like the official response. Let's see how cam did. I think it comes with the game. It comes with the defensive plan. It comes with, you know, what the DC's philosophy is. And, you know, every game is not going to be a shoot-out every game is going to be a, it could be a bad pass or a radio. It could be a bad, you know, completion ratio. But it's all about the win and loss. And, you know, we haven't done that. And that's something that we don't focus on. It's winning, losing. I mean, would it? He had the right answer if he was on a team that won games in spite of the quarterback play? Right. They're not winning games. No, they're not winning games. And look, it's nice that the young man has confidence in himself. And he probably does have some skills, you know, physical, he does. He has physical attributes that would make him a good quarterback, but he's not.

5:09He's not a good quarterback. Do you think he wants to say anywhere inside? Have you seen the coaching and talent around me over the last year plus? Right. Like, I feel like that's the answer you can't say. Well, that is the way it's saying, what do you talk about, you know, the opposing defensive schemes that you're going up against? That is one way of saying we don't have the right game plan to go up against the defenses that we're seeing. Yeah. But that, of course, that's not a lot of... I just am a little surprised at him. He is one game into his second season as the number one overall pick. I know these three and 15 as a quarterback, but there's a lot of guys that number one overall pick. You start slow like, I don't know, did the gloves come off that quickly everywhere? And I know Bryce Young was benched in his second season pretty early in Carolina, but... I mean, that's a pretty pointed question that it kind of surprised me. Maybe we've gone soft up here. Well, just to overall, and then we'll continue here, John. But this whole notion that it's like, you know, it's different here in New England. It's different with the New York media and the Boston media.

6:11So earlier, when purpose here, we were talking about Romeo Dobbs. And he said, oh, the question is he faced in Green Bay where not easy ones. That is a football-rabbit market. Here we are in Tennessee. These are nice people, right? These are... They're really not. Yeah, you know, you're talking about, you know, where things are supposed to be a little calmer down there. I think when it comes to the NFL anyway, and for college football too, we've seen reporters go after college coaches in places where it's, you know, supposed to be in just a nicer way of conducting business, and there is rules of decor. Forget it. You know, this whole notion that it's like, oh, it's tough for the play in Boston. It's tough to play anywhere when you're talking about football. Also, I wondered, are they going to ban this guy? Because they're already banned one guy for a tough question to cam ward this off-season. That's right. That's right. I don't know if they keep banning people. They'll be no one there to come to the team, I think. That's what he comes down to. That may be happening anyway. So, Tennessee will host the Eagles this Sunday. They are a touchdown underdog at home.

7:13To fill it out. Very good quarterback at home and touchdown underdog. That's probably motivation. You know, I'm betting on... I was on Tennessee. In Chicago, the Bears will host Minnesota in a matchup of one-on-one teams. The game within the game for this one, Ben Johnson, who calls plays for an explosive offense that ran up over 500 yards last Sunday, going up against the blitz happy schemes of Brian Flores and the Vikings defense, a crew that had four sacks and 15 quarterback hits on Green Bay's Jordan Love in week one. Caleb Williams and the Bears offense did get off to a flying start last week. I think is scoring every drive is our mindset. I think that's the potential of us. And that's internal expectation. That's an internal feeling just what we have up front, wide, and in the backfield. It's an expectation from ourselves to be able to go out there and score every time and figure out ways to help the defense. Now that seems obvious, but that is a Ben Johnson mentality. I mean, that is absolutely what he wants to do is the head football coach of that team.

8:15What do you think of Caleb Williams? I don't know what to think of Caleb Williams. He has as much talent as he can make every throw every any cliche you want to throw out there. He's a guy that, you know, like if he had said what Cam Ward said, it's like, I think I'm a very good quarterback. And I got the skills I would say, yes, you are. I've seen him do things that other players in this league cannot do or maybe there's one or two that can do it. But I think it's similar to Drake May, like great quarterbacks do it week after week, month after month, year after year, put it all together. Too early? A little too early. Okay. He's got a great marriage. I do think it's interesting. He said, that's an internal expectation we have. Well, you just made it external. You just told the world and Ben Johnson, even your guy, he gave a point total early in the year. We want to average 38 points per game or something. He wants the top scoring offense in NFL history. I don't know what that's what he wants. I think that's a little weird. Maybe it's me covering Belichek and Brady for too long. But the O7 Patriots didn't talk bleep. I'm gonna set it. Start talking crap until well into the season.

9:16This is before the season started. We basically want to be the greatest offensive all time. Yeah, we want to score more points than anybody. How about you win just win all your games? You know? And if that's their, you know, calculus to get there, okay. But it is not thing to say, especially in Chicago, which has, you know, I guess historically a more defensive mindset. Right. Yeah. But they have a lot of weapons. That's a, that can be a very vague defense. They get any defense this season. They will be a dangerous to everyone. DeAndre Swift questionable. But the problem for this game lives with Minnesota. You remember Kyla Murray left their season opening in. The report this morning from ESPN is Murray continues to progress through concussion protocol. He did not practice yesterday. But he's doing more off the field. Whatever that means. He apparently has a chance to play this Sunday. Carson Wentz will go if he is unable to go. Can Carson Wentz match Caleb Williams drive for drive? I think not.

10:16It's more where you started. Can Brian Flores, who? Interesting open-ended question. How come he's not a head coach? Anybody? Is he gone? No, I don't think so. Collusion? We're like, he can, you read all these stats and what he does and he blitzes more than anybody and he confounds offensive coordinators. 15 quarterback hits on a game is pretty good. In a league where the Super Bowl champion head coach is a defensive guy, the loser in the Super Bowl defensive guy. There might have been a shift last year. You would have thought maybe, hey, Brian Flores seems like he's really good. Actually has experience as a head coach. And yet, I'm just saying, feels like his legal team has growing information to use. I'd like to tell you how you said progress, by the way, Jon. Progress. Progress, snoo-tee. Let's get back to the Packers who we're just talking about. They visit the Jets at 1 o'clock this Sunday, including their season opening loss to Chicago and their playoff loss to the Bears last season.

11:16The Packers have lost six straight games. That's the team's longest losing streak since the beginning of the 1991 season. Whoa. Is that Don McDonough, the magic man? I think that's before, farf. Wow. On the other side, though, a 2-0 start for the Jets would be there first since 2015. Geno Smith, oddly enough, was there the first time when that happened, but he had just lost his starting job to Ryan Fitzpatrick. He's going to try and match him this weekend. It's up to us to go out there and compete and get it done, but it's a long season. And it's just another game. It's the most important game because it's the next game. And so we got to stay focused on this process, the day-to-day process, and whatever gets said on the outside, that's none of our business. We're a team that's going to try and compete and get better every single day. Geno Smith has thrown more interceptions than anyone in the last three years. Pretty much mistake-free in week one. It was Tennessee, but still mistake-free.

12:18This is why the NFL is awesome. Like Geno Smith 1-0, Jacobi percent 1-0. Drake May, Matthew Stafford, Owen, like, it's why it's the greatest entertainment value there is out there. And I also, I do not fear a second win in a row to start the season for the Jets. What did Bert call him? Well, Frisky, I think he got it. Yeah, Frisky. I do not fear it because this one will not become insufferable at any point. I'm pointing over to Fred's empty cherry, because he knows as a lifelong Jets fan. He's just waiting for it to go poorly. In fact, I would say a second straight win would make him even more pessimistic. I think he might be insufferable just because of his negativity if they were able to get off to a 2-0 star. Well, when you were talking earlier about your concerns with your Lions and their defensive backfield, I immediately thought, don't worry. I'll let him be back to coach him up within six weeks or a month.

13:20Isn't that seem like a foregone conclusion he'll get canned? He'll be back into Detroit. I'm sorry, I just started thinking about the two times they played Chicago this year and went that instant. How many of Chicago can have scored? Take the over. I don't know. I think they could go over 60. They could go over 60 in one of those games. The playoff game that Fred and I went to, the Lions Commanders game, the over got blown up in the first half. And it was high over. It was like 53 and a half or something crazy. And early trends scoring up in the NFL. We saw it last night. We saw it early in the first week. I'm fine with it. It's fun to watch. Yeah. If nothing else, the entertainment value is through the roof. A couple of interesting games during the late window on Sunday. 4 p.m. game in Denver, the Broncos who could not have looked worse on Monday night faced Jacksonville who looked great in the 34-10 win last week. They were granted it was over Cleveland, but they still looked really good. The Broncos defense missed a total of 14 tackles against the Chiefs in week one.

14:22And they're facing a team that snapped Denver's 11 game winning streak at the end of last season. The Jaguars come in having won nine straight regular season games. Trevor Lawrence just threw his 100th career touchdown pass. But, and this is strange. It went to Josh Cameron. It was Cameron's first ever touchdown catch in the NFL. And then Lawrence let him keep the football. Josh has it. So, I didn't even realize because that was someone set in the locker 100 touchdown. I'm like, where's that ball? I'm like, oh, it was Josh's first one. So, he can keep it. I guess you're going to get 200 now. I'll keep that one. A lot of people overlook Trevor Lawrence for obvious reasons coming into this season. He's been good, but not great. Yeah. As the overall number one pick, you would think he would have a better career than he has, but he was awesome on Sunday. So, a few weeks ago, we were talking about this. And Fred thought he was going to stump John and I by talking about the teams that were like, you know, the sneaky picks to be, you know, forces in the NFL this season.

15:22And John and I nailed them both. I said, oh, I bet they're saying Carolina and Jacksonville. Why would you think about either one of those teams? Because they looked good for, you know, good chunks of last season. And I would say this about Denver. My open and new question why Denver wasn't getting more preseason love in terms of a, you know, a favorite to come out of the AFC or, you know, maybe be a real threat in their division. I think that question will be answered if Jacksonville goes over and rolls over Denver in Denver this weekend because they looked so bad against Kansas City. Kansas City looked good, but Denver did not. And everyone saw something that I didn't see him like, how come Denver's not getting more love? And they were fantastic and the defense and everything else. Oh, maybe they aren't all that good after all. Yeah, and especially during that broadcast, what was it, Aikman? I think it kept calling it the deepest roster in football, the deepest roster. And I'm like, I don't know if that's necessarily true when I look at the Broncos. And who cares? Who are your top guys?

16:25It's like, okay, a deep bench in the NBA will help you with the playoffs and help you when injuries take place. But you got to have horses out there for your starting 11 on both sides of the ball. You know, the deepness really doesn't factor in until later in the season for right now. If you want to win games in the early part, don't talk to me about depth necessarily. Talk to me about who can get the job done when everybody's health. Especially after week one, where was all stars scoring? All the court, like great water backs, the running backs with Derek Henry S3 touchdowns, B-John, all these guys are getting in the end zone star power at least. And Josh Allen as we touch the offense is very strange Monday night because Denver want and got themselves a top wide receiver in Jalen Waddle. Courtland Sutton is not a bad receiver either. And it seemed like Bo Nick's went out of his way not to throw the football to either one of them against Kansas City. And that's a story to watch because Sean Payton gave up play calling. And Sean Payton is reactionary is emotional is volatile. My guess is BB one more performance like that and Sean Payton will be back calling plays for the Denver Broncos.

17:27One more game. It's Sunday night Indianapolis faces the Kansas City Chiefs. Here's a stat for you. Daniel Jones in prime time games in his career. One and 15. The worst of any quarterback in NFL history. Now again, that's not against the spread that's straight up. But even so, that's remarkable to lose 15 of 16 prime time games in your career. Also remarkable. They made me watch Daniel Jones 16 times in prime time. Yeah. Why is he on schedule? No, it's a good point. The cults now not only have to deal with that, they have to stop Kansas City's brand new rushing attack led by Kenneth Walker who ran for over 170 yards in his Chiefs debut. You won our first came in here OTAs training camp everything. Meet and pat and traven all those guys Nick at the leaders on the team the way they carried themselves on and off the field. I was surprised to see because these guys are successful on the field but the way they carried themselves off the field is more impressive. So it definitely was but they accepted me were open arms and you know I appreciate them for that.

18:30Patrick Mahomes clearly not 100% after major knee surgery but it doesn't need to be that this guy continues to do what he did. Yeah, that was about as good a debut as you can have for a guy who actually thought get a little overrated. He wasn't great in Seattle. He had a great Super Bowl and got paid off it and that's but the way he debuted in Kansas City maybe he is the perfect fit for that offense because he was awesome. Alright, very good John.
