Avoiding Taxes Legally - with Matthew Sercely

IMPACT Driven

About this episode

I've been a lawyer for over 12 years. Spent most of my career working in personal injury, but after starting my own business, started spending a lot of time working to reduce my own taxes. Eventually, I realized most other business owners couldn't or didn't figure out what I had, and so started my new business.

I'm a father to two daughters and a son and a husband. I'm currently living in the North Dallas Suburbs, but am hoping to get out onto 5-10 acres in North Texas before the end of 2023.

Here's some of what we discuss:

  • Why are you the “agorist tax advisor?”
  • What is a “Tax Advisor”?
  • How is it different than a tax attorney or an accountant?
  • What’s the big deal with saving taxes- is saving 1-2% such a big deal?
  • Are there any advantages to having a tax advisor who is an attorney instead of an accountant?
  • Any advantages to having an accountant instead?
  • What sorts of mistakes to you see people making on their taxes?
