Backlund Scores 600th Point, Ties Flames Record

Calgary Flames Captain MacKyle Backlin had a huge milestone Thursday night, scoring the 600th point of his National Hockey League career. The 36 year old center beat New Jersey Devils Goldtender Jacob Marchstrom, with a quick wrist shot early in the third period at the Prudential. Center in Newark. That goal, his 14th of the 2025-2026 season, came with a sys from Joel Faribi and Braden Pachal, putting the Flames of 5-2. It also tied him with Ketnilsen for fifth on Calgary's all-time goals list at 2-29. Backlund, drafted 24th overall by the Flames in 2007, has played more games for the team than anyone except Jerome Iginla. Over 1,131 games since his debut, and the 2008-2009 season, he has 229. Goals, 371 assists, and now exactly 600 points.
