Badgers Spring Practice: New Transfers Shine

On March 26, the Wisconsin Badgers wrapped up their third spring practice on Tuesday, kicking off a busy session with more than 40 new players on, the roster heading into next year.

The team is still working without pads, but early sessions show a rebuilt squad focusing on new transfers and young talent across key positions.

At quarterback, transfer Colton Joseph is getting the top reps as the expected starter, a dual-thread guy from Old Dominion.

Backing him up, our Louisville transfer dues atoms, returning sophomore Carter Smith and incoming freshman Ryan Hopkins.

Joseph showed some ups and downs, with erratic passes early but solid touchdown throws later, while atoms impressed with his arm strength and willingness to push the ball down field.

Meanwhile, the offensive line is experimenting under new coach Eric Mateos.

The top group features Ole Miss transfer PJ, Wilkins at left tackle, Colin Coverley at left guard, Aston Kewecki from Oklahoma State in the middle, Emerson Mandela at right guard, and Kevin.

Haywood shifted to right tackle after his injury recovery, depth comes from more transfers and returners rotating in.

Defensive backs are loaded with portal additions like Arizona State's Javan Robinson, Oklahoma State's Eric Fletcher, Ohio State's Bryce West, At, Nickel, and others including kaybates and safeties, Marvin Berks and Carson Van Denter.

The top unit rotated Robinson, Fletcher, and West, with strong past defense showings from several newcomers.

Spring ball continues for the Badgers, giving coaches time to sort through the competition and bail chemistry before Falcam ramps up.
