Basketball Star Carson Towt Joins Colts as Tight End

Here's what's happening.

The Indianapolis Colts just signed a former college basketball standout, Carson Tout,

as it's tied end, even though he has zero football experience.

The 24-year-old wrapped up his hoops career at Notre Dame after transferring from Northern

Arizona where he earned all conference honors and led the nation in rebounds during the

2025 season.

Earlier this week, Tout spilt to reporters about his excitement for the switch.

He mentioned filling the pool toward football throughout college and sees it as perfect timing

now that basketball is behind him.

At 6 foot 7 and 250 pounds, he believes his size and athleticism will translate well

from the court to the grid iron.

This kind of move is not entirely new for the Colts.

They already have moilly cocks on the roster, a veteran tied in who came from basketball

at VCU and stuck around after going undrafted back in 20.

Other stars like Hall of Famer Antonio Gates and Jimmy Graham also made similar jumps successfully.

Tout credits his rebounding grit and physical playstyle for giving him confidence in this

role.

He thinks football rewards the tough, hands-on work that define his basketball days even

more than hoops did.
