It's early Monday morning, March 16th, and the Bay's looking prime with that new moon pulling

strong tides.

High tide hit around 1.10 a.m. at 6 feet, low at 6.40 a.m. pushing 2 feet, then high again

at 12.44 p.m., top in 7 feet, and even in low at 7.24 p.m., near zero, perfect for strippers

chasing bait in the shallows, per fishing reminder charts.

Weather's mild, partly cloudy with light winds.

Sunrise at 7.20 a.m., sunset around 7.25 p.m., fight windows peak major from new to 2 p.m.

11.30 p.m. to 1.30 a.m., minors at dawn and dusk, get out there, actions hot on halibut

and strippers.

NorCal fish reports tallies from yesterday.

Lovely Martha, out of SF landed two Cal halibut and eight strippers on a full day with

10 anglers, Emeryville boats like Lady Kay and Oakland anglers two, nabbed one each halibut

and stripper on half days.

After fishing report echoes it, cod father in Alameda boated four halibut, four strippers,

Scallywag got six strippers, limits aren't huge yet, but quality fish schooling up.

For lures, go swim baits like three-inch keytights in pearl or anchor shrimp imitations, strippers

mashing on the troll, Berkeley gulp minnos or jerk baits in natural hues for halibut,

dive bait, anchovies or sardines on a Carolina rig or pileworms for bottom huggers, fish

the incoming tide hard, hot spots, coyote point marina for easy access and stripper boils

or Sierra point where currents rip and halibut cruise the drop-offs.
